School Management Committee
members, Sanya recited a verse from the
Shrimad Bhagvad Geeta
and innocently asked CM Patel when he would visit her school. CM Patel warmly replied, "When I visit, I will certainly make it a point to meet you."
This exchange has resonated with School Management Committees across Gujarat. The interaction was part of a larger video conference with approximately 4.5 lakh School Management Committee members from government schools across the state.
CM Patel emphasised the importance of these committees in delivering value-based education and bridging the gap with global standards. He highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi's focus on education, health and safety, and extending facilities to rural areas.
In this context, he said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has placed emphasis on education, health, and safety and has extended facilities to the smallest villages, and the scope of education has increased.
The more active the SMC is, the wider the benefits will be in the education of village schools.
The Chief Minister had undertaken the first innovative initiative of video conference dialogue from Gandhinagar with about four and a half lakh members of the School Management Committees of government, primary and secondary schools across the state. Education Minister Kuberbhai Dindor and Minister of State Prafulbhai Panseria also participated in this video dialogue.
CM Patel also received their proposals and feedback through discussions with the members of the School Management Committees.

"Congress leaders are doing politics on Op Sindoor": Union Minister Anupriya Patel
Prayagraj (Uttar Pradesh) [India], June 8 (ANI): Union Minister Anupriya Patel strongly criticised Congress leaders on Sunday for allegedly doing politics over Operation Sindoor, saying the issue was related to the security and honour of the nation and should not be politicised. While speaking to the mediapersons, Patel said, 'Operation Sindoor is a matter related to the security and respect of the nation. Congress leaders are doing politics on this subject unnecessarily.' She added that when India's parliamentary delegation visited foreign countries recently, they received widespread support for India's stand against terrorism. 'The countries where our delegation of parliamentarians visited have not only appreciated India's policy against terrorism, but also clearly stated that they stand with India on the terrorism front,' she said. Patel claimed that the world had recognised India's strong response to terrorism. 'India has taken major and calculated action against terrorism. Today, all countries of the world are impressed and appreciating it, and we all need to stand together on the subject of national security,' she added. She also emphasised the importance of unity and nationalism, especially during international visits. 'Especially when we go on foreign soil, we should keep our opinions in line with the way our government has fought terrorism by enhancing the pride of our nation. Our delegation has kept its side,' Patel asserted. India launched Operation Sindoor on May 7 and struck nine terror sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied-Kashmir in response to a ghastly terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam last month in which 26 people were killed. After the attack, Pakistan retaliated with cross-border shelling across the Line of Control and Jammu and Kashmir as well as attempted drone attacks along the border regions, following which India launched a coordinated attack and damaged radar infrastructure, communication centres, and airfields across 11 airbases in Pakistan. After this, on May 10, an understanding of the cessation of hostilities between India and Pakistan was announced. (ANI)

Gujarat: CM Patel approves grant of Rs 107 crore for road repairs to 149 municipalities across state
Gandhinagar (Gujarat) [India], June 8 (ANI): Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has begun advanced planning to ensure that if urban roads across the state are severely damaged due to heavy rains during this year's monsoon, resurfacing and repair work can begin without delay. For this purpose, the Chief Minister has approved the allocation of a total grant of Rs 107 crore to 149 municipalities across the state from the Mukhyamantri Shaheri Sadak Yojana, under the Swarnim Jayanti Mukhya Mantri Shaheri Vikas Yojana, according to the release. During the monsoon season, heavy rainfall is likely to cause significant damage to roads in urban areas of the state. Thereby adopting a people-centric approach, CM Patel has prioritised prompt resurfacing and repair of these roads to enhance road safety and improve urban infrastructure. Besides, if roads in certain municipalities are in poor condition due to excavations for sewerage, drinking water pipelines, and other works, the state government provides funds for road repairs in those areas before the monsoon, based on requests from the respective municipalities. He has approved the allocation of grants to municipalities based on their category as part of the planning for road repair and resurfacing across the state. Accordingly, a total grant of Rs 37 crore will be allocated to 37 'A' category municipalities, with Rs1 crore allotted to each, Rs 27 crore will be allocated to 34 'B' category municipalities, with Rs80 lakh allotted to each, Rs 36 crore will be allocated to 61 'C' category municipalities with Rs 60 lakh, allotted to each, Rs 6.80 crore will be allocated to 17 'D' category municipalities with Rs 40 lakh allotted to each, said release. Kash Patel, FBI Director, faces backlash for ‘hit a cop' comment, social media users say ‘Remember January 6?'
Amid Los Angeles becoming the epicentre of major anti-ICE protests, FBI Director Kash Patel has warned that anyone hitting a cop will land straight in jail, reported Hindustan Times. According to the report, Patel's comments have not gone down well with a section of the internet, which requested that the FBI Director remember the 6 January rioters whom US President Donald Trump pardoned. After a series of large-scale immigration raids by federal agents across the city, people in LA have started protesting. The immigration raids sparked immediate backlash as protestors clashed violently with law enforcement. On Saturday, Donald Trump ordered 2,000 National Guard troops to the streets of Los Angeles, as the administration stated the move was taken to quell 'lawlessness'. According to an AFP report, confrontations erupted between federal agents and angry crowds after the agents shoot flash-bang grenades and tear gas towards crowds at the arrests of dozens of migrants in a city with a large Latino population. Amid the situation in LA becoming tense, FBI Director Kash Patel warned that anyone hitting a police officer would go to jail. 'Hit a cop, you're going to jail… doesn't matter where you came from, how you got here, or what movement speaks to you. If the local police force won't back our men and women on the thin blue line, we FBI will,' he posted on X. After his tweet, Patel has become the target of backlash as people reminded him of the January 6, 2021 riots in the US Capitol. People also reminded him how the US administration's stance differed at that time from now. Earlier on 6 January 2021, a mob of Donald Trump supporters attacked the US Capitol, in which over 150 police officers were injured. In the riots one – Brian Sicknick – died the following day. Later, when Donald Trump was elected president in the 2024 United States presidential election, he pardoned about 1,500 people charged for the riots. Patel post is garnering attention on social media as the users are slamming him for his statement. 'But if you do it wearing Trump merch while rioting at the US Capitol, you'll get a pardon, right, Kash?' wrote one X user. 'This declaration evidently does not apply to the Trump supporters who attacked police on Jan. 6,' another wrote. 'Trump pardoned all the Jan 6ers who assaulted cops,' a third X user reminded the FBI director, while the fourth user wrote, 'Remember Jan 6th? Your dear leader pardoned hundreds who assaulted cops.'
