Traitors tried to drive a wedge between Tejashwi and me: Tej Pratap on expulsion from RJD.

Hindustan Times2 days ago

Patna, Breaking his silence over recent expulsion from the RJD headed by his father Lalu Prasad, Tej Pratap Yadav on Sunday alleged that there was a "conspiracy" to drive a wedge between him and his younger brother Tejashwi Yadav.
The former Bihar Minister, who was expelled from the party a week ago, voiced his sentiments in a couple of posts on his X handle, blaming the crisis on 'Jaichand' a metaphor for traitors.
Using the Mahabharata imagery, which he has been employing to describe his relationship with his far more successful younger brother, Yadav wrote, "Those dreaming of a rift between me and Arjun, will never succeed in conspiracy. They can win over the military of Krishna, but can't capture Krishna himself. I will soon expose every such conspiracy."
Without mentioning Tejashwi Yadav by name, he said, "My brother, I would ask you to have faith that I am with you in all circumstances. My blessings were with you and will be so always. Please take care of Mummy and Papa, Jaichand is outside as well as within."
Yadav, who is the elder son of Lalu Prasad and former Bihar Chief Minister, Rabari Devi, had earlier come out with a post addressed to 'My dear Mummy and Papa'.
"My world revolves around both of you. You and your command are bigger than God for me. With you around, I feel I have everything. I need only your love and trust and nothing else. Papa, without you this party would not have come into existence. Jaichand, like greedy people, have plotted against me. My only wishes Mummy and Papa may you both always be happy and healthy," he said.
Notably, Yadav's expulsion was ordered a day after he confessed to being "in a relationship" with a woman named Anushka only to delete the Facebook post later with a claim that his page was "hacked".
The post had created a huge controversy and Yadav's estranged wife Aishwarya alleged before the media that her in-laws had "ruined" her life by getting her married to him despite his being in a relationship with another woman since much before their wedding in 2018.
Yadav had so far kept mum on his expulsion despite his father announcing on social media that he was disgusted with his elder son's conduct.
Anushka's, brother Aakash Yadav also recently came out in public to "strongly condemn", the expulsion of Yadav but refused to divulge whether his sister was in relationship with the former minister, saying, "It is for the two of them to speak on this issue if and when they choose".
Aakash Yadav had also urged Tejashwi, now the de-facto leader of RJD, to intervene in the matter saying, "The reputation of both our families is at stake".
His expulsion came barely a few months ahead of the Bihar assembly polls, which the RJD will fight under the leadership of Tejashwi Yadav. Born to Prasad and Rabri Devi, both former chief ministers of Bihar, the two brothers are among four of nine siblings active in politics.
Tej Pratap Yadav had made his political debut in the assembly polls of 2015, and is a second-term MLA with two brief stints in the state cabinet.

RJD MP defends Tej Pratap, says 2 marriages now new in country

1 2 3 4 5 6 Patna: Citing the example of former Union minister Ram Vilas Paswan who had two wives, senior RJD leader and Buxar MP Sudhakar Singh on Monday defended Lalu Prasad's elder son and former state minister Tej Pratap Yadav on the issue of having relationship with another woman, apart from his wife. Tej Pratap had on May 24 announced on social media that he had been "in a relationship for 12 years" with the woman, despite being married, and his divorce petition pending before a family court here. He, however, deleted the post a few hours later, claiming that his social media page was "hacked". Defending Tej Pratap, the RJD MP, while talking to reporters in East Champaran's Motihari, said, "Solemnising another marriage does not fall under the category of immorality. The tradition of having two marriages in India is not new. Indian society has had the tradition of multiple marriages for centuries..." Citing the example of late Paswan, Singh said, "We have seen and heard in the past many instances of multiple marriages by a man. Take the case of Union minister Chirag Paswan, who was born to Ram Vilas's second wife." Singh also urged RJD chief Lalu Prasad to reconsider his decision about Tej Pratap. "Lalu Prasad, as a father, should reconsider his decision of expelling Tej Pratap from the party," Singh said. A day after Tej Pratap declared his relationship with another woman, the RJD supremo on May 25 expelled him from the party and snapped all family ties with him. Lalu, who announced his drastic move on social media, made no mention of the previous day's happenings, but criticised his elder son's actions, public conduct and "irresponsible behaviour", saying "disregard for moral values in personal life weakens our collective struggle to achieve social justice". Lalu also admonished Tej Pratap for behaving in a manner "not in consonance with the values of my family", and declared: "He is expelled from the party for six years."

AAP framed husband for pol vendetta: Cong councillor

Ludhiana: While the district administration and Ludhiana police remain tightlipped about FIRs lodged at division number 8 police station against office-bearers of Ludhiana District Cricket Association (LDCA) for alleged embezzlement, Congress councillor from Ward 69, Deepika Sunny Bhalla, accused the government and police of implicating her husband, Gagandeep Bhalla alias Sunny Bhalla, in the case. Asserting that the FIR against Sunny Bhalla was meant to stop him from campaigning for Congress candidate Bharat Bhushan Ashu, she said that the complainant had already withdrawn his complaint from the high court. Sunny Bhalla, a former honorary secretary of LDCA, is one of Ashu's closest associates. He has been actively campaigning for Ashu ahead of the bypoll scheduled for June 19. Sunny's wife, councillor Deepika Sunny Bhalla, on Monday uploaded a Facebook post: "As you all know, Sunny Bhalla and I have been serving our ward and people for so many years. We have all stood like a family during ups and downs, happy and hard times, together and bonded strongly. But, for the last few years, we have faced the wrath of the current govt for serving the public. Two days ago, a false FIR was lodged against Sunny Bhalla, even when the complainant already withdrew his complaint in the high court. Just to stop Sunny Bhalla from working in his ward in favour of our respected Ashu ji for the by-election, he has been implicated. The bond Sunny and Bharat Bhushan Ashu ji share is impeccable and it can't be broken ever. You can defame them but can't separate them. I would like to say to this govt and administration, let the public decide whom they want as their representative and stop putting false narratives and cases on Congress supporters. I would like to say – Na jhukenge Na tootenge, Ashu ji ke sath the, wahin rahenge.. Support Ashu bhaiya and stand strong with Sunny Bhalla." TOI tried to contact officers of the sub-division where the FIR was lodged against the office bearers of LDCA; however none of them agreed to issue a statement. However, the FIR, a copy of which is with TOI, states that the report received from the DC office indicates that irregularities were found. However, the persons who committed the irregularities or the amount of embezzlement have not been specified. The report states that the president, general secretary, honorary secretary, and treasurer, besides other office-bearers, have committed procedural and financial lapses. A probe will be conducted to ascertain the names of office-bearers and the amount allegedly embezzled. A case under Section 420 (cheating) and 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of the IPC has been lodged. AAP trying to intimidate Cong workers: Ashu Punjab Congress working president and party candidate from Ludhiana West, Bharat Bhushan Ashu, said that the ruling Aam Aadmi Party was feeling desperate and frustrated after realising that its defeat was imminent. Interacting with reporters during his public outreach programmes, Ashu said, "The AAP candidate is badly trailing and now they are trying to intimidate Congress workers." In response to questions about one of his close aides being booked in a case, Ashu said that the complaint was withdrawn five years ago. "AAP is literally trying to dig out old corpses from old graves without realising that they may fall in those graves themselves, and they certainly will," he remarked. MSID:: 121573935 413 |
