State-run insurer Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) has sold 4,809 shares via a block deal in Modella Woollens , a company with a market capitalisation of Rs 5 crore on the BSE. The PSU company sold these shares at a price of Rs 57 per share, taking the deal size to just Rs 274,113.The stock today closed at Rs 57, gaining by Rs 1.75 per share or 3.17% over the Wednesday closing price of Rs 55.25.LIC held 1,52,451 equity shares in the company as on March 31, 2025 which represented 16.75% stake.The company is promoted by Sunder Suvidha LLP which has a 45.83% stake accounting for 4,17,098 shares. Sandeep P Shah is the promoter who holds 0.33% stake accounting for 3,024 equity shares.Modella Woollens is primarily engaged in trading in synthetic suiting and furnishing/plastic materials. They also used to manufacture shoddy yarn (used for woolen fabrics) and undertake commission combing of wool and synthetic fibers, but their wool combing unit was sold in 1993, and they seem to have shifted primarily to trading activities since 2010-11.The stock has been an underperformer and its share price has fallen 5% in 2025, so far. Over a 1-year period, the losses are to the tune of 13% according to Trendlyne data. In contrast, the Nifty has gained 7% in the same period.The company reported Q4FY25 standalone losses at Rs 4.87 lakh versus a loss of Rs 6.1 lakh in Q3FY25 and Rs 3.52 lakh in Q4FY25. Pune-based realty group Mont Vert Group has signed a USD 500 million (around Rs 4,300 crore) contract with Kazakhstan's Big B Corp for developing a medical university and a hospital, according to a statement. Mont Vert Group will be responsible for the construction and development activities related to the project, UK-based SRAM & MRAM Group said in the statement. UK-based SRAM & MRAM Group in partnership with Big B Corporation and KAZIND Medical Group of Kazakhstan is developing a private healthcare facility in Kazakhstan. The agreement was made possible through the efforts of Big B Corporation Director Ajay Bhandari and SRAM & MRAM Group Director Mahendra Joshi, the statement said. The group in October last year announced getting approval from the Kazakh government for 243 hectares of land at Astana and 100 hectares at Almaty for Medical University, a multi-specialty Hospital and a 5-star hotel. The medical college will teach 10,000 students and have a multi-specialty hospital with 1,000 beds. Hyderabad, June 13 (UNI) LIC of India expressed deep grief over the death of on-board passengers and crew members of Air India flight AI 171 and also people on the ground who were killed due to the plane crash in Ahmedabad on Thursday. In a statement on Friday, LIC said it is committed to supporting those affected and will expedite claim settlements to provide financial relief. The Insurance company announced many concessions to mitigate the hardships of the claimants of LIC Policies. Instead of death certificates, any evidence in Government Records of the death of the policyholder due to the plane crash or any compensation paid by the Central/State Government /Airline Authorities will be accepted as proof of death. All efforts will be taken to ensure that the claimants are reached out to and claims are settled expeditiously for the affected families. The company manufactures solar-powered and grid-connected submersible and monoblock pumps, electric motors comprising induction and submersible motors as well as solar modules, which it sells under the Oswal brand.
