Clemson is all over The Athletic's Top 25 ACC football players for the 2025 season
Clemson football will enter the 2025 season with no shortage of star power, and The Athletic's ($$$) latest ACC player rankings reflect just how loaded Dabo Swinney's roster is.
Nine Tigers were named among the top 25 players in the ACC, with five of them ranked inside the top 10, including three in the top five and two in the top three. Edge rusher T.J. Parker leads the way at No. 1 overall after an outstanding 2024 campaign that included 16.5 career sacks, six forced fumbles, and a four-sack performance against Pittsburgh. He was also a key factor in Clemson's win over SMU in the ACC Championship Game.
Fellow defensive lineman Peter Woods came in at No. 3. The 315-pound interior force recorded 28 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss, and three sacks in his first season as a full-time starter. The Athletic's Manny Navarro described Parker and Woods as 'a two-headed monster' that gives Clemson a major advantage defensively heading into 2025.
Quarterback Cade Klubnik was ranked No. 4, earning recognition as the top quarterback in the league. Klubnik made a major leap in efficiency last year and enters this fall with 36 career touchdown passes, the most among returning FBS quarterbacks. His supporting cast only adds to his potential, with standout receiver Antonio Williams ranked No. 7 overall and recognized as the ACC's top wideout after leading the league with 11 touchdown receptions in 2024.
Cornerback Avieon Terrell gives Clemson five players in the top 10. He landed at No. 8 after posting 58 tackles, 12 pass breakups, and two interceptions last season, while also establishing himself as one of the league's most reliable run defenders.
Clemson's presence continues deeper into the list, with offensive tackle Blake Miller at No. 12. The veteran lineman has started 41 games in his career and was a first-team All-ACC selection in 2024. Linebacker Wade Woodaz (No. 16), safety Khalil Barnes (No. 18), and sophomore linebacker Sammy Brown (No. 22) round out the Clemson contingent. Barnes has led the team in interceptions each of the past two years, and Brown — a former five-star recruit — was last season's ACC Defensive Rookie of the Year.

Deion Sanders seen fishing with Travis Hunter in encouraging health update
Travis Hunter visited Coach Prime in Texas ❤️ Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders has been dealing with an unspecified health issue, but is on the mend, according to his eldest son Deion Jr. Deion Jr. posted a video to his YouTube account Saturday that showed Sanders fishing at his estate in Texas with former Colorado football star Travis Hunter. "It's a beautiful thing," Deion Sanders Jr. says in the video. "Coach Prime back active, moving around. God is great. Not back active moving around, but it's progress." The Colorado head coach has been away from the program since April and did not attend the university's annual youth football camps earlier this month. Sanders' return to Boulder is still uncertain, but he appears closer to resuming his full-time duties soon with the latest update. He is scheduled to attend the Big 12 Conference Media Days on July 9 in Frisco, Texas. The video is encouraging, as was a recent visit by Sanders' former Dallas Cowboys teammate, Michael Irvin. The two Hall of Famers were seen laughing at Sanders' Texas estate with Irvin joking about throwing a party when Sanders returns to Boulder. While the health issue does not seem to be too serious, Sanders admitted in late May that he lost 14 pounds. As Colorado awaits Sanders' return, the Buffaloes continue gearing up for the season, with Georgia Tech set to visit Boulder for the Aug. 29 opener. Rising Texas A&M pitcher has entered the transfer portal
Texas A&M's 2025 transfer portal losses now include one of the program's top arms from the bullpen, as right-handed pitcher Luke Jackson has entered the transfer portal, which is surprising given his successful junior season, during which he made a career-high 18 appearances. On paper, Jackson's 5.89 ERA last season was average at best. Still, his ability to keep the Aggies clean during a majority of his appearances saw a player steadily improving after beginning his career as a future starter. Jackson's decision to enter the portal is surprising, given his rising profile, which is due to his confidence and swagger as a reliever, paired with his quality stuff. This combination will likely lead to plenty of attention from blue-blood programs in the portal. During his 18 appearances last season, Jackson struck out 24 while allowing 12 walks, and looked to be on his way to reaching his potential as a go-to relief option in key games during conference play. While there is always a chance that he returns, several Texas A&M transfers have already committed elsewhere, including catcher Jacob Galloway, who is headed to Oregon State. Coach Michael Earley has, however, landed three pitchers from the transfer portal, including standout Baylor freshman Carson Bailey, on Tuesday night. Nevertheless, it's clear that the future of the bullpen is uncertain with Jackson's departure, while several relief arms have yet to announce their official return. Iowa football bolsters secondary with commitment from safety in 2026 recruiting class
First and foremost I want to thank GOD for being there through my journey, I want to thank my mama for being there and letting me make my decisions and just help guide me,I want to thank coach newcomb for helping me learn the game and becoming a young man. Want to thank coach… On a day when the sports world was preoccupied by a Kevin Durant trade and game seven of the NBA Finals, Iowa football added to its 2026 recruiting class with the commitment of Ronnie Hill. The Hawkeyes are once again finding diamonds in the rough as their latest commitment comes from a hidden gem whom they witnessed firsthand rather recently. The Hawkeyes offered the 6-1 183 183-pound safety on Sunday after he participated in a camp with them on Thursday. Hill committed the same day to give Iowa its tenth commit in the 2026 class. Hill is a three-star prospect out of Sterling Heights, Michigan, and Adlai Stevenson High School. Hill chose the Hawkeyes over offers from Austin Peay, Eastern Michigan, Northern Illinois, and Kent State. He's the 125th-best safety prospect and 18th-best prospect from Michigan in the 2026 class, according to 247Sports. Hill is a dual-sport high school athlete, also competing in track and field. Hill also plays wide receiver for Adlai Stevenson, where he had 19 receptions for 292 yards and a touchdown during his junior year. He also added 11 tackles on the defensive end of the ball in just four games. He's the second defensive back in Iowa's 2026 class.
