Brad Pitt relished an 'extraordinary' experience of driving a Formula One car as F1: The Movie hit cinemas in Ireland.

Pitt (61) had plenty of driving experience – including behind the wheel of modified F2 cars – while filming the movie over the last two years, but was blown away by his first taste of an F1 car.
'Oh my God, what a rush,' Pitt said in a video on McLaren's social media channels. 'A lot bigger horse than I've been on.'

Pitt added on the Beyond the Grid podcast: 'I got to hit 197mph this week. I really wanted to hit 200. You know, it hurts me a little bit – three miles per hour short on the straight. This was at Austin.
'You're so focused, but you're not white knuckling. You're just in this sublime groove. It is really extraordinary.

'I try to explain this feeling of downforce, and I fail every time because you try to say like a rollercoaster, but that's not even right, because you feel the fulcrum point underneath you – you're in it.
'I was in an aerobatic plane once, and it's the closest thing, but still this thing… this is such a unique feeling and an absolute high. I'm still on a high, I really am. I'm just still on a high.'
Pitt's fictional rookie team-mate Joshua Pearce is played by British actor Damson Idris.
Filming has taken place across multiple races over the last two seasons and F1 chiefs hope the movie will follow the popularity of Netflix's Drive To Survive series in cracking America.

Seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton is an executive producer on the movie, directed by Joseph Kosinski and co-produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, which will be released in the United States on Friday.
Hamilton (40) posted a picture of himself alongside Pitt as he reflected on the journey he had been on while making the film.
'Four years in the making — what a journey it's been,' Hamilton wrote on Instagram.
'I'm incredibly grateful to everyone at Apple and Warner Bros for believing in us and partnering with such heart and vision. To Joe and Jerry — thank you. I've learned so much from both of you and it's truly been an honour to work alongside you.

Heather Graham, 55, and Jane Seymour, 74, showcase their incredible figures in swimsuit snap
Heather Graham and Jane Seymour have become fast friends while overseas in Italy. On Wednesday Graham, 55, joined Seymour, 77 — who recently shared a lifestyle tip — in a swimsuit-clad selfie as they cooled off in a pool. The British actress shared the outtake via Instagram, writing in a caption to her 425,000 followers: '@imheathergraham and I dove straight into summer mode. ☀️' She continued in the note, 'Saltwater in our hair, sunshine on our cheeks, and just enough mischief to keep the seagulls guessing.' Heather wore a stringy black bikini in the photo while Jane looked great in a hot pink one-piece with gold hardware accents. Both women wore floppy sun hats, with Heather opting for white while Jane chose black. They each wore dark sunglasses as well. The location was geotagged as Sardinia, Italy. Graham and Seymour have been enjoyed the 8th annual Filming Italy Sardegna Festival, which connects Hollywood and Italian cinema, from June 19-22. Earlier this week the older of the two filmmakers shared a red carpet photo of them in gorgeous gowns. In her caption, she gushed, '@imheathergraham is one of those rare people who radiates both beauty and kindness. 'I feel so lucky we spent quality time together here at the @filming_italy Sardegna Film Festival. It's moments like these that remind me how healing it is to be in the presence of people who truly lift you up.' The Austin Powers star returned the sentiment as she wrote in the comments, 'I feel so grateful to meet you! I've been a fan of yours for so long and you are as wonderful in person as you are on screen. ❤️❤️❤️.' In May Jane spoke with about the lifestyle that keeps her glowing and youthful. 'Being healthy just feels good, it keeps me going, it gives me energy,' she said while noting she favors a Mediterranean diet. Meanwhile, in 2023 Heather called out sexism in Hollywood as she suggested that there is 'no age' where women are 'allowed' to feel good about themselves. 'I think, culturally, there is definitely a message out there that keeps telling us, "Women feel bad about yourself!"' she explained to NewBeauty magazine. She added: 'It seems like there's no age where we're really allowed to feel good about ourselves — except for maybe a very short window.' 'The rest of the time we're supposed to feel like, "I'm too young or I'm too old,"' she said.

Dune director Denis Villeneuve to take over James Bond franchise
After years of wrangling, hesitation and mystery, Amazon has announced the director for the next James Bond film. Denis Villeneuve, best known for his work on the science fiction movies Dune and Blade Runner 2049, will take the helm, also serving as executive producer. 'I'm a die-hard Bond fan,' Villeneuve said in Amazon MGM Studios' announcement on Wednesday evening. 'To me, he's sacred territory. I intend to honour the tradition and open the path for many new missions to come. This is a massive responsibility, but also incredibly exciting for me and a huge honour.' Villeneuve, 57, is a French-Canadian director and screenwriter known for his adaptations of fictional novels into film. He was nominated for an Oscar for Arrival, a 2016 sci-fi drama based on a short story by Ted Chiang about a linguist employed by the United States army to communicate with extraterrestrials. His next projects were Dune: Part One and Dune: Part Two, an adaptation of Frank Herbert's novel of the same name. The first film received six Oscars and grossed $400 million at the box office worldwide; the sequel won two Oscars and grossed $714 million. It was a slick move into Hollywood, having begun his career making French-language films in Canada. 'Few filmmakers of the 21st century have risen to prominence and prestige with the forcefulness of Blade Runner 2049 director Denis Villeneuve, whose seemingly unstoppable career has been bolstered by a steady balance of critical respect and commercial success,' wrote the industry publication IndieWire in 2017 as he broke onto the scene. 'In fact, Christopher Nolan [director of Oppenheimer and the The Dark Knight] is the only other person who comes to mind, and the similarities between the two of them are hard to ignore.' • Will James Bond leave Pinewood for LA? UK film industry reacts to Trump Amazon took control of the distribution rights of the James Bond franchise in 2021, after its acquisition of MGM Studios for $8.5 billion. The deal did not, however, give it power over creative direction. In the years since, Amazon was seemingly locked in a stalemate with the Broccoli family, who had produced the Bond films ever since 1962 when the first one, Dr No, was released. In February, the Broccoli family was reported to have been paid $1 billion by Amazon MGM Studios to cede creative control. In March the divorce was finalised with Barbara Broccoli, 65, and her half-brother Michael G Wilson, 83, heirs to Albert 'Cubby' Broccoli. 'We are deeply grateful to Michael G Wilson and Barbara Broccoli for their remarkable stewardship and vision,' a spokesman for the Bond estate said at the time. 'Their imagining of James Bond on screen has created one of the world's great film franchises and has led the incredible success of the British film industry. • Where's James Bond gone? How an Amazon deal put 007 on hold 'We are enormously excited about the next phase of the James Bond story on film under Amazon's creative leadership and are confident in their new stewardship of Ian Fleming's extraordinary creation. James Bond will return!' Villeneuve said he had been an avid consumer of the Bond stories since he was a child. 'Some of my earliest movie-going memories are connected to 007,' he said. 'I grew up watching James Bond films with my father, ever since Dr No with Sean Connery.' The Québécois director is known for his long takes, muted colour palette, extreme shadows and drawn-out periods of silence on screen. There is still speculation about when the next Bond movie will be released. The most recent, premiering in 2021, marked the end of Daniel Craig's tenure as 007.
