Some sunshine Thursday after a sloppy Wednesday
Happy Hump Day! It's a fairly quiet start to the day. There were some mountain snow showers overnight and before sunrise that have left behind a few slick/slippery stretches across the higher terrain. Otherwise, the morning drive for most will be easy with temperatures in the 20s/30s alongside a light south breeze.
Highs will hike into the upper 30s to low 40s this afternoon with the continuation of periodic rain and snow showers. Those rain and snow showers flop over to mountain snow showers this evening into late tonight. Lows will crash to near freezing Thursday morning with leftover slippery spots in the mountains.
Temperatures make their way back into the middle to upper 40s Thursday afternoon because of Mr. Golden Sunshine. A mix of sun and clouds returns through the first half of Thursday with increasing clouds by the afternoon. As we push into the evening, a few rain and snow showers enter in across northern New York because of an arriving clipper system.
That clipper system will drag a cold front through overnight into Friday morning with moderate to heavy bursts of wind-drive snow developing along the boundary. It will be another sloppy morning commute Friday before briefly drying out.
Snowfall totals will average a dusting to 2 inches in the valleys through Friday afternoon. Meanwhile, the mountains will pick up an additional 2 to 4+ inches by the end of the week.

SALT LAKE CITY () – Happy Monday, Utah! It's shaping up to be a hot start to the week across Utah and as high pressure settles in overhead. Bottom Line?! Early summer heatwave settles in with a few afternoon thunderstorms Temperatures are already running above normal, and you can expect things to heat up even more heading into midweek. We're talking sunshine, very warm afternoons, and that classic summer feel, especially across northern Utah, where temps will rise a few more degrees today. Daytime highs will climb to around 90 degrees along the Wasatch Front, and triple-digit heat for St. George. That said, it's not completely dry out there. There's still some lingering moisture hanging around, and that means we can't rule out a few afternoon showers and thunderstorms, especially over the higher terrain. These storms won't be widespread, but they'll be the kind that bubble up with daytime heating, toss out a few gusty outflow winds, and then fizzle once the sun starts to dip. By midweek, the ridge remains in control, but a weak low nearby could stir up a bit more action in the skies. Look for another round of high-based storms that might stretch beyond the mountains and drift into the surrounding valleys late Tuesday and Wednesday. Again, they won't bring much rain…but they could kick up some wind. Looking beyond midweek, things really dry out. A broader pattern shift will usher in hot and breezy southwesterly flow across the region, especially from Thursday into the weekend. That means we'll need to keep a close watch on fire danger—conditions are looking ripe for critical fire weather, especially in central and southern Utah. Another stormy workweek for Acadiana
Scattered showers and storms are moving through Acadiana this Monday morning but should quickly come to an end by 7:00 am. There is a low risk for severe weather as a couple storms could produce damaging winds or an isolated tornado. Another round of scattered rain is possible during the afternoon if the atmosphere can recover and destabilize enough. Otherwise, the weather today will be hot, muggy, and breezy with highs in the lower 90s. The stormy pattern continues through the Father's Day Weekend. Moments of heavy rain at times today
NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – A chance for strong to potentially severe storms this afternoon as temperatures climb into the upper 80s and low 90s. Main threat with these storms is strong winds, flash flooding, and the chance for hail. Southeast Louisiana is under a slight 1/5 risk for Flash Flooding this afternoon. Thunderstorms producing heavy rain could bring standing water to flood prone areas in town. Conditions will stay dry overnight. Expect partly cloudy skies today as a band of rain and storms from the west move in this afternoon. Wind speeds pick up to 11mph out of the southwest by 10am. The chance for rain sticks around for the rest of the week with the highest chance on Wednesday. Soggy conditions continue for Southeast Louisiana. There are currently no disturbances in the Atlantic and that continues for the next 7 days. There is currently activity in the Eastern Pacific with Tropical Storm Barbara and Tropical Storm Cosme, both located in the eastern Pacific basin off the coast of southwestern Mexico. Tropical storm Barbara currently has sustained winds of 70mph and Cosme has sustained winds of 50mph. There is also an area of low pressure just west of Southern Mexico that has a 60% chance of development within the next 7 days.
