Inside Liver King's troubling multi-day pilgrimage to Texas to 'hunt' Joe Rogan

Daily Mail5 hours ago

A disgraced influencer dubbed the 'Liver King' went on a manic multi-day social media spree as he traveled to Austin to hunt down Joe Rogan, where he was arrested for making 'terroristic threats' against the podcast megastar.
The fitness influencer, real name Brian Johnson, was taken into custody on Tuesday night after sharing Instagram videos of himself continuously rambling about 'fighting' the Rogan.
Johnson, 48, shared a slew of videos to his 2.9 million Instagram followers. He shot to fame in 2022 claiming his huge muscles were the result of a raw meat diet, before being exposed by Rogan as a steroid user.
In the videos before his arrest, Johnson's apparent 'roid rage' was in full view.
Johnson appeared to be talking to himself and pretending he was in conversation in some of the clips, including in one where he said to a seemingly empty room: 'I'm going to be right back, okay?'
The fitness influencer also shared videos giving himself a 'coffee enema' in the shower, and in another showed a Joe Rogan branded box with a knife ominously perched on top.
Johnson's hunt for Rogan appears to stem from his steroid scandal three years ago, as he blamed the podcaster for exacerbating his downfall after Rogan had criticized him for his dishonesty.
The 'Liver King' began documenting his pilgrimage to Austin to find Rogan three days ago, saying in an Instagram video on Sunday that, 'If I could just get a formal invitation to the Joe Rogan podcast, I could release myself from leaving tomorrow.'
The next day, Johnson shared another clip calling out Rogan to fight him, saying: 'Man to man, I'm picking a fight with you... I have no training in Jui Jitsu, you have a black belt, you should dismantle me.'
Wearing a wolf's head hat, Johnson began dancing on camera with his shirt off, saying: 'That's pretty entertaining right?'
'You can't pick a fight with a real king and then expect there not to be an actual fight, bro,' he added.
After sharing several more clips of himself aimlessly talking into the camera, Johnson shared another clip on Tuesday morning as he made his way to Austin.
He showed himself holding the Joe Rogan podcast branded box with an axe on top, saying: 'You can't buy this kind of stuff, the serial numbers are not replicable.'
Pointing his camera to the axe, he said: 'We come bearing gifts, for those that deserve it.'
'We'll see you soon,' he said as he addressed Rogan directly. 'Real tension I have with you, real f***ing beef.'
Some of his Instagram videos in recent days received millions of views, with many fans expressing concern for Johnson in the comments and urging his family to check in on him.
Speaking from a hotel room in Austin once he arrived in Rogan's hometown, Johnson claimed in an erratic shower video that he'd had a run in with police over his threats, and also showed himself giving himself a 'coffee enema.'
'I challenge you today, Joe Rogan,' he said. 'I'm here at the Four Seasons in Austin, I'm in the shower... I didn't sleep the day before, I was up for about 40 hours.'
Johnson went on a hard-to-follow rant about a run-in with police officers as he jumped back and forth from multiple topics in no logical order.
'The police are coming or something's happening... I've not threatened to kill anybody. Did somebody say that I was going to kill somebody?' he said.
'I am going to. I've picked a fight. Who have I picked a fight with? Joe Rogan... Why? Out of principle. Family.'
'I'm challenging you, just as a man. I don't want to kill you. Why would I want to kill you? You have a family. I wouldn't want to take you away from your family.
'I wouldn't want that to happen so I hope that none of this is perceived as a threat. F**k you Joe Rogan, you guys can call all the cops.'
It is understood Johnson blames Rogan for helping to unravel his supplement empire after the famed podcaster addressed his 2022 steroid scandal on air
Later, his wife shared another video purporting to show the moment he was searched and placed into a cop car by officers.
In the video, a member of his team, while filming, tells his wife that Johnson may have to spend up to 24 hours in jail as his matter is dealt with.
Johnson was seen in footage filmed by a member of his 'team' wordlessly complying with officers as they patted him down while he wore handcuffs.
Online records showed Johnson was booked by the Austin Police Department on Tuesday night and charged with making 'terroristic threats', a Class B misdemeanor.
He was hit with a $20,000 bond, however it is unclear if he has posted bail yet.
Separately, Johnson said in another deranged video that he is 'scared' and 'has PTSD' after a recent stint inside a 'Polish prison.'
'Now I'm kinda scared about going to jail when I'm around my family because then I can't do what I do, what a man does.
'You can no longer protect your family when you're in jail. That happened in Poland. I don't want that to happen again.'
He appeared to be referencing a separate incident where he was detained on August 29 at Krakow Airport in Poland moments before boarding a private jet to Houston.
Authorities found ammunition in his suitcase. Johnson received a fine and agreed to cover the costs of the investigation.
Elsewhere in his bizarre rant, Johnson revealed 'last Thanksgiving I was dying,' adding that 'the CT scan says something is in dire straits.'
Johnson had kept a relatively low profile after his steroid scandal came to light in 2022, but has resurfaced and ramped up his social media presence in the wake of a new Netflix documentary which released in April.
'Untold: The Liver King' explores his supplement empire and rise to the top by eating raw meat - specifically animal livers and testicles - on social media.
After another fitness YouTuber caught him in his bold faced lie with blood test results and a leaked email, Johnson filmed a video admitting fault.

Michelle Obama admits she and Barack clashed over popular parenting technique

Michelle Obama has revealed that she and her husband, former President Barack Obama, clashed over implementing one parenting technique with their daughters when they were younger. During the latest Wednesday episode of her IMO podcast, which she hosts with older brother Craig Robinson, the former first lady admitted that she and Barack ran into some trouble as they didn't see eye-to-eye on the Ferber Method. The Ferber Method is a technique made popular in 1985 by Dr. Richard Ferber, and it's used to sleep-train babies by teaching them how to self-soothe, per Cleveland Clinic. One of the main ideas of the technique is to only check on your sleeping child in certain, timed intervals, even if they're crying. However, it was something that Barack was in favor for and Michelle against when it came to parenting Malia, now 26, and Sasha, now 24. The topic came about as the sibling pair were interviewing social psychologist and author Jonathan Haidt on the latest episode. 'Well, I didn't want to do it. Barack did it. I don't know that I could have done it, because I wasn't sure about it, the notion that you just let the little person that you love the most cry and cry and cry,' Michelle shared. 'Maybe it was something about estrogen and my response to the crying, so we set it up where Barack took the night shift, I went to bed, which was helpful, because it got me some sleep,' she shared. 'I would have to cover my ears so I couldn't literally hear the crying.' However, it turned out that the method worked quite well for their family, as it took no longer than a week for the girls to get used to it. At the time they started to implement the Ferber Method, their daughters were about four or five months old. Haidt shared that he had the same experience with his children as the Obama's did when it came to implementing the Ferber Method. The admission came just weeks after Michelle had previously opened up about her relationship with her two daughters and how they started 'pushing away' from her and her husband when they were teenagers. The couple, who have been together for over 30 years, welcomed their firstborn Malia in 1998, and Sasha in 2001. The mother-of-two explained that she believes her daughters distanced themselves because they wanted to 'distinguish themselves' from their famous parents as they became adults during a recent appearance on the Sibling Revelry podcast hosted by Kate and Olivia Hudson. 'Our daughters are 26 and 23, they are young adult women. But they definitely went through a period in their teen years… it was the "push away."' Michelle noted that she has found that this is something that often happens to celebrity kids. 'They're still doing that, and you guys know this of children with parents who are known,' she continued. 'You're trying to distinguish yourself. It's very important for my kids to feel like they've earned what they are getting in the world.' While striving to make her own path, Malia dropped her last name when she premiered her short film at Sundance in 2024, per OK! Magazine. 'We were like, "They're still going to know it's you, Malia,"' Michelle said of her decision. 'But we respected the fact that she's trying to make her way.'

Hulk Hogan makes $7million business move amid shock health concerns and 'deathbed' rumors

While WWE icon Hulk Hogan is still reeling from shock health concerns where some believed he was on his deathbed, the professional wrestling legend is part of the team opening a sports bar in New York City. The $7million project will be a multi-floor establishment where his fans can eat your vitamins, say their prayers, and drink plenty of liquor. The bar will be called 'Slam' and is located at the intersection of West 31st Street and Eighth Avenue in Manhattan with windows facing the world-famous Madison Square Garden, where several of Hogan's defining moments inside the squared circle took place, per Page Six. Hogan, 71, will not have any ownership in 'Slam' and his partnership with Rich Rosen, is only a licensing deal so the bar can use the Hulkster's name and likeness. Last week, Hogan had to swat away concerns that he was close to dying after past nemesis Bubba the Love Sponge said live on air that a 'pretty damn reliable' source had told him the 71-year-old was in such bad health that he 'might not make it'. However, it is believed Hogan, whose real name is Terry Bollea, is not close to death and was only in the hospital to address health problems he's struggled with for years. Before his health concerns were publicized, Hogan was approached by Rosen, who owns nearby SCORES Sports Bar, about the project at an autograph signing. The bar will be littered with Hogan memorabilia and will have television screens where his fans can relive his greatest moments. Slam will also try to resemble the inside of Madison Square Garden, complete with a jumbotron inside the venue. Hogan already has another bar, Hogan's Hangout, in Florida, with 'The Immortal' expected to be making frequent visits to his New York drinking hole. The 13-time world champion made his WWE debut at Madison Square Garden in 1979 and main-evented the first WrestleMania at the venue in 1985. His most recent appearance at Madison Square Garden was on stage at a Donald Trump rally several days before he won the Presidential election over Kamala Harris last October. Hogan has not appeared at a wrestling event since getting loudly booed during WWE Monday Night RAW's debut on Netflix in January. The all-time wrestling great is no stranger to surgery after recently telling WWE superstar Logan Paul that he had at least 25 from 2014 to 2024 alone. 'I've had 10 back surgeries,' he said during an appearance on Logan's 'Impaulsive' podcast. 'Both knees and both hips replaced, shoulders - everything.' While he is not on his deathbed, Hogan did spark fears over his health after making a bizarre appearance on Fox News last month. Fans were left concerned when he appeared as a special guest on Fox & Friends at the start of May sporting a worrying new look. Renowned for his deep tan, the WWE great's skin looked particularly weathered on air, while his usual white beard appeared to be dyed black despite his goatee and hair being left white - making for a strange contrast. One viewer wrote on social media: 'tell Hulk Hogan his face is dirty, clean that soot off.'
