HTL Biotechnology inaugurates a new production line dedicated to sterile hyaluronic acid
JAVENÉ, France, June 6, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- On the occasion of National Bioproduction and Biomedicines Day (JNBB), which enjoys the high patronage of the President of the French Republic, HTL Biotechnology confirms its position as a globalleader in the development and production of pharmaceutical-grade biopolymers, by inaugurating a new production unit dedicated to sterile hyaluronic acid at its Javené (Ille-et-Vilaine) site, a true flagship of French biomanufacturing.
With over 30 years of expertise in biopolymers, HTL Biotechnology is reaffirming its commitment through this new production unit to the development of innovative therapeutic solutions for the medicine of today and tomorrow.
The manufacture of sterile hyaluronic acid opens the way to new therapeutic opportunites . This cutting-edge process now makes it possible to combine hyaluronic acid with heat-sensitive active molecules, previously incompatible with traditional heat sterilization methods. Simultaneously, mastery of aseptic processes eliminates any risk of microbial contamination and ensures optimum pharmaceutical quality. This innovation marks a decisive step in the development of new combined formulations, bringing improved clinical benefits for patients in many fields, such as ophthalmology and drug delivery.
This €12 million investment, part of HTL Biotechnology's €100 million 2022-2026 strategic plan, pursues two main goals: to explore new opportunities in bioproduction, and to strengthen the company's position as a key player in future applications of hyaluronic acid in healthcare. Production is scheduled to start in 2026, following qualification and validation of the industrial equipment.
To guarantee the quality and efficiency of this new production unit, HTL Biotechnology has set up specific in-house training courses to instruct its staff in aseptic procedures and the handling of this new product. Because of the highly technical nature of this product, a team of ten specialists has been trained in the specific skills required for its production ensuring the highest quality standards.

Freedom Caucus warns it will ‘not accept' Senate changes on green energy tax credits
The conservative House Freedom Caucus said Friday it would 'not accept' changes that 'water down' its cuts to green energy tax credits as the Senate weighs whether to alter parts of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. The House version of the 'big, beautiful bill' would make drastic changes to tax cuts for low-carbon energy sources passed in the Democrats' 2022 Inflation Reduction Act (IRA). Climate-friendly energy projects, including wind and solar, would only be able to qualify for the credits under the House bill if they begin construction within 60 days of the bill's enactment. This brief window would likely make many projects ineligible for the credits, and it is expected to significantly hamstring the development of new renewable power. In a post Friday on social media, the Freedom Caucus warned the Senate against loosening that restriction or others included in the bill. 'We want to be crystal clear: if the Senate attempts to water down, strip out, or walk back the hard-fought spending reductions and IRA Green New Scam rollbacks achieved in this legislation, we will not accept it,' said the post, which was attributed to the Freedom Caucus's board. 'The House Freedom Caucus Board will stand united holding the line. The American people didn't send us here to cave to the swamp — they sent us here to change it,' it added. The Senate has been widely expected to consider changes that could slow the rapid elimination of the tax credit passed under the House version of President Trump's 'big beautiful bill.' Republican Sens. Lisa Murkowski (Alaska), Thom Tillis (N.C.), Jerry Moran (Kan.) and John Curtis (Utah) released a letter warning against a 'full scale' repeal of the tax credits. Senate Republicans can only afford three defections and pass their bill. On Friday, a group of 13 House GOP moderates released a letter calling on Senate leadership 'to substantively and strategically improve clean energy tax credit provisions' in the legislation. 'We believe the Senate now has a critical opportunity to restore common sense and deliver a truly pro-energy growth final bill that protects taxpayers while also unleashing the potential of U.S. energy producers, manufacturers, and workers,' the group said in the letter, which was led by Reps. Jen Kiggans (R-Va.) and Brian Fitzpatrick (R-Pa.). Altogether, the letters illustrate what could be a tough task ahead for Republican leaders as they look to find a measure that will keep at least 50 senators on board and appease the House. Job Corps closure puts dozens of young adults at risk
As the Hubert Humphrey Job Corps Center in Saint Paul prepares to close its doors, dozens of young adults are facing an uncertain future. The closure leaves many without housing, education, or other skills needed to succeed in the workforce. 'THEY WORKED REALLY HARD' - The Hubert H. Posted by WCCO & CBS News Minnesota on Friday, June 6, 2025 Last week, the Department of Labor announced that they would pause operations for Job Corps centers nationwide. Students and staff are expected to leave by June 30th. The Department of Labor decision "aligns with the President's FY 2026 budget proposal." Also stating that the Job Corps program has faced "significant financial challenges under its current operating structure." "People come to Job Corps because they have no other place to go, they have no other family to turn to," said Job Corps student, Christopher Walter. Walter joined the program to get away from a parent that experienced a psychotic episode. He found himself a community, and a family at Job Corps. "I'm actually crying behind my sunglasses right now," said Walter. "Job corp was essentially family, it's a home away from home." Job Corps, the largest federal job training program for low-income youth, has been a lifeline for young people, offering a place to live, learn and prepare for careers. Now, with no alternative – the future for these young adults remains unclear. "It makes me want to cry, it's just really hard," said Job Corps staff member Laura Nelson. "They were promised if they worked hard, did what they were supposed to do they'd get something out of it." Finding job opportunities, outside resources and homes is all the staff at Job Corps can do for now. "For every single center across the country you have a homeless population of around 25%," said Christopher Kuhn, Job Corps Executive Director Center of Operations and Support. "I don't know where they all will go and I don't know what services will be available for them." While the closure has been met with shock and disappointment, local organizations like the Salvation Army's Booth Brown House, is stepping up to support. The Booth Brown House, a shelter for homeless young adults, is preparing for the surge of homeless youth displaced by the job corps closure. "We do have capacity in our emergency shelter to take a handful and we have seen interest from those youth when the time comes," said Erin Foss, Program Director at the Booth Brown House. Although disappointed at the closure, Foss remains hopeful. The Booth Brown House staff visited the Job Corps to discuss housing and job opportunities. "We're going to do our best to keep encouraging and assist them in finding other resources so these youth continue to move forward and don't fall through the cracks," said Foss. Pushing back, Christopher Kuhn, is urging the public to ensure that these young adults don't get forgotten. "America needs skilled workers, let us help. That's what we do. Otherwise you'll have a whole generation of young people that'll be a burden on our economy and society, when they can really be contributors. And they want to be, they want to help," said Kuhn. As the June 30th deadline approaches, the future of the young adults still remains uncertain. But there is still hope for some of the students and staff at the Hubert Humphrey Job Corps Center and centers across the nation. On June 3rd, the National Job Corps Association (NCJA) filed "a motion for a temporary restraining order in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York to stop the U.S. Department of Labor's (DOL) closure of 99 Job Corps campuses nationwide." On Wednesday, U.S. District Judge Andrew Carter in Manhattan temporarily blocked the Trump Administration from eliminating the Job Corps program. A hearing is set for June 17, where the fate of the program will be decided.
