The venture capital arm of Saudi Arabia's sovereign wealth fund has backed a $135 million fundraising round for technology firm iMENA Holding as the company plans for an initial public offering in the kingdom.
Sanabil Investments injected capital into iMENA along with investors including New York-based VC firm FJ Labs, according to a statement on Sunday. The funding coincides with a move by iMENA to restructure into a Saudi company and base itself in Riyadh ahead of a planned listing on the local stock exchange within two years.

Delta Cancels All Flights into Tel Aviv Amid Israel-Iran Conflict

Amid conflict between Israel and Iran that escalated this week, Delta has shut down one of its major international routes. On Friday, June 13, Israel's capital city of Tel Aviv was hit with missile strikes from Iran in retaliation for Israel's strikes against Iran on Thursday. As conflict continues to escalate between the two nations, Delta Air Lines has made the decision to stop all flights from New York-JFK to Tel Aviv until at least August 31. "Delta has paused flights to Tel Aviv (TLV) from New York-JFK through August 31 in response to the current conflict in the region," Delta wrote in a statement on Friday. "Customers impacted by flight cancellations will receive notifications via the Fly Delta app and contact information listed in their reservation as these cancellations are processed in Delta's system and may contact Delta or their travel agent for rebooking options." This move comes after Delta had just resumed the route at the end of May after previously pausing service to Tel Aviv due to conflict in the area. While the decision makes sense given the danger it would present to travelers, it is a significant change for travelers as the Tel Aviv airport is one of the biggest hubs in the Middle East and could put a wrench in travel plans going forward. Delta has indicated that it will continue to monitor the situation as it looks to prioritize the safety of its customers. "The safety of our customers and crew remains our top priority. Delta is continuously monitoring the evolving security environment and assessing our operations based on security guidance and intelligence reports. Updates will be communicated as needed," Delta's statement continued. It's likely that the airline's service to Tel Aviv will be put on hiatus until the conflict between Israel and Iran comes to an end. Former Cuomo Campaign Adviser Led Chinese State Oil Company

Andrew M. Cuomo's mayoral campaign hired an adviser who was once the chairman of a state-owned oil company in China, a position typically held by people with close ties to the Chinese government. In March, Mr. Cuomo announced that the adviser, Larry He, had become the campaign's Asian outreach director to help garner support among New York City's 600,000 Chinese Americans and other Asian communities ahead of this month's Democratic primary. Mr. He worked at the China-owned Guangxi Beibu Gulf Investment Coastal Petrochemical Co. and its parent company a decade ago, according to review of Chinese company documents and several online biographies. (His Chinese name is He Lining.) Mr. He was chairman of the oil firm and also held other titles at the parent company, including director of asset management and head of investment promotion, before entering the New York political scene. He is now the chief of staff to State Assemblyman William Colton, who represents parts of Brooklyn. In an interview, Mr. He acknowledged that his employment history in China could raise questions about his connections to the Chinese government and said he had omitted the experiences from a recent résumé to avoid causing concern. Mr. He denied any past or current links to the Chinese Communist Party, saying he was never a member and that he had become a naturalized U.S. citizen in 2024 — undergoing a process that involved renouncing his Chinese citizenship. GM to invest US$4 billion to increase US output

General Motors (GM) announced it plans to invest around US$ 4 billion in the next two years to strengthen its US vehicle production operations, in response to the recent import tariff hikes by the Trump-led US government. This new investment plan, which will result in the transfer of some production from Mexico, is in addition to the recently-announced US$ 888 million investment in the company's Tonawanda engine plant in New York State. GM confirmed it plans to increase its annual production capacity in the US to over two million battery-powered and internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles. The plants that will benefit from the new investment include: Orion, Michigan, which will begin production of a ICE full-size SUVs and light duty pickup trucks in early 2027. The Detroit-Hamtramck plant will become the dedicated assembly location for the Chevrolet Silverado EV, GMC Sierra EV, Cadillac Escalade IQ, and GMC Hummer EV pickup and SUV. Fairfax, Kansas City, will produce ICE-powered Chevrolet Equinox from mid-2027 in response to strong demand for the recently redesigned model. The plant is also scheduled to produce the new Chevrolet Bolt EV by the end of 2025, with additional 'affordable' EV models set to follow later on. Spring Hill, Tennessee: GM plans to add the ICE-powered Chevrolet Blazer to the plant's line-up from 2027, to be produced alongside the Cadillac Lyriq and Visiq EVs and the Cadillac XT5. GM's CEO, Mary Barra, said in a statement: 'We believe the future of transportation will be driven by American innovation and manufacturing expertise. Today's announcement demonstrates our ongoing commitment to build vehicles in the US and to support American jobs. We're focused on giving customers choice and offering a broad range of vehicles they love.' The company pointed out that it currently has around fifty vehicle and parts manufacturing plants in 19 US states, including eleven vehicle assembly plants, employing a COMBINED one million people directly and indirectly, including at parts suppliers and dealers. GM's capital spending guidance remained unchanged at between US$ 10 billion and US$ 11 billion for 2025, rising slightly to between US$ 10 billion and US$ 12 billion in 2026 and 2027 to 'reflect increased investment in the US, the prioritization of key programs, and efficiency offsets.'
