Fountain Valley police arrest DUI driver who crashes into scene of fatal accident
Fountain Valley police arrested a DUI motorist on Sunday night after the unidentified driver crashed into the scene of a fatal traffic investigation.
Police responded to the intersection of Warner Avenue and Los Jardines Street at about 10:30 p.m. Sunday. On their arrival they discovered a gray Toyota Corolla traveling westbound on Warner had struck a pedestrian who had been running southbound from Mile Square Park into the intersection.
The pedestrian, who police identified in a news release as 35-year-old Alexandra Payerli of Santa Ana, later died of her injuries at a local hospital. The driver of the Corolla, a 17-year-old male from Westminster, remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
As police were investigating the fatal collision later Sunday night, the DUI driver struck an unoccupied police car and was arrested.
No officers were reported injured.

During this time, she began changing lanes and driving recklessly, according to officials. Documents noted that a second CIA police officer was positioned at the security gate with their emergency light on, in hopes of stopping the car. Spadaro allegedly ignored all attempts and began driving faster toward the main security gate. The officer then fired shots, striking Spadaro, and she crashed into one of the barriers of the gate. She was detained and taken to the hospital. According to the court documents, while at the hospital, Spadaro told a CIA officer that she had been drinking at a restaurant in Vienna. Officers also emphasized that while in the ambulance, she smelled of alcohol. Children driving stolen ride-share car crash, killing 13-year-old New England boy, police say
A 13-year-old boy was killed and a 14-year-old girl was seriously hurt in a crash involving a car that was reported stolen in New Hampshire early Wednesday morning. The crash happened in Bedford at around 1:50 a.m. at the on-ramp of Route 101, according to the Bedford Police Department. The car involved in the crash, a 2014 Toyota Corolla, had rolled over after it exited the on-ramp onto Kilton Road, police said. Both the 13-year-old boy and 14-year-old girl were ejected from the car. The children were the only people in the car at the time of the crash, the department said. The boy, who was from Manchester, New Hampshire, was brought to a local hospital and later pronounced dead. The girl — also from Manchester — was brought to a nearby hospital with serious injuries. A preliminary investigation into the crash showed neither child had been wearing seatbelts, and the Toyota Corolla was reported stolen earlier from a ride-share and delivery driver in Manchester, police said. The investigation into the crash is ongoing by the Bedford Police Department. The crash caused the on and off ramps to be closed for a period of time until Wednesday morning. Woman shot after driving up to CIA headquarters charged with DUI, court documents show
WASHINGTON - A woman who was shot by security outside of CIA headquarters last week has been charged with driving under the influence. What we know According to court documents, just after 3:30 a.m. on May 22, a CIA police officer saw the suspect, Monia Spadaro, driving the wrong way onto the grounds of the CIA headquarters in Fairfax County. The police officer turned on their lights and sirens in an attempt to pull over Spadaro in her Toyota Corolla but according to the affidavit, she wouldn't stop and instead continued toward the main security gate, all while driving recklessly, changing lanes from outbound to inbound and back to the outbound lanes of travel. As Spadaro continued toward the main gate at a high rate of speed, a CIA police officer guarding gate fired shots at her and she was hit. She was taken to an area hospital for treatment. What they're saying The court documents state that Spadaro told hospital personnel that she'd been drinking at a bar in Vienna prior to the incident. Additionally, a CIA police officer who rode in the ambulance with her said her eyes were glossy and bloodshot, and that she had an odor of alcohol coming from her person.
