Portugal national football team has won the UEFA Nations League with a superb victory against Spain. The game was so tight that it went onto penalties. The 2-2 scoreline says how equal the team were in their performance. Spain scored the first goal of the game when Zubimendi hits it sweetly. Nuno Mendes didn't take much time to equalise the scoreline. However, it was Oyarzabal who made it 2-1 in the first half. Portugal did score in the second half and it was none other than the legend of the game Cristiano Ronaldo. 5-3 was the penalties scoreline after Spain missed their 4th kick.
Portugal clinched the UEFA Nations League title with a thrilling victory over Spain, emerging 5-3 winners on penalties after a fiercely contested 2-2 draw in regular time. With this win, Ronaldo reached yet another milestone as he has 3 national trophies now with Portugal.
The final lived up to its billing, showcasing high-quality football from both European giants. Spain drew first blood when Martín Zubimendi struck a beautiful goal to give La Roja an early lead. However, Portugal responded quickly through Nuno Mendes, who levelled the score with a powerful finish.
The back-and-forth drama continued as Mikel Oyarzabal put Spain ahead once again before the half-time whistle. But Portugal, refusing to back down, found their equaliser in the second half thanks to none other than Cristiano Ronaldo, who once again proved his worth on the big stage.

Thomas Frank's to-do list at Tottenham Hotspur
Thomas Frank is set to become the new manager of Tottenham Hotspur, with the Brentford boss nearing a move across the capital. The Dane has won plenty of admirers during his time at Brentford, consolidating the West Londoners in the Premier League on a comparatively modest budget. He will inherit a Tottenham team who endured their lowest league finish since 1977, but who simultaneously ended a 17-year trophy drought with Europa League success. We've looked at five things in Thomas Frank's in-tray at Tottenham. Thomas Frank's to-do list at Tottenham Hotspur Sort recruitment focus – and quickly The change of manager already leaves Spurs behind the eight ball in this summer's window. The hesitancy to sack Ange Postecoglou following his European triumph means the North Londoners have lost ground on rival sides. In the mini-window opened ahead of the Club World Cup, Spurs failed to make a signing. Advertisement In contrast, Liam Delap (Chelsea), Matheus Cunha (Manchester United), Rayan Ait-Nouri, Rayan Cherki, Tijjani Reijnders (all Manchester City) and Jeremie Frimpong (Liverpool) all moved to potential top-four rivals. Spurs need to strengthen in key areas and Frank has minimal time to assess his squad and targets. The transfer window re-opens on June 16th. Find solution to injury problems Spurs' season was decimated by injury problems last term, with only Brighton having more individual injuries (47) than the North Londoners (41). The Seagulls were also the only Premier League team to have a higher number of days lost to injuries (1,944 to 1,543). Advertisement Repetitive injuries plagued the club's campaign and Frank will need to review their medical record. Was this just bad luck? Or were Spurs victims of Ange Postecoglou's game plan? Can the club's recovery and training be improved? There's plenty to ponder. Make tough decisions on waning stars For all his critics, Ange Postecoglou has left Spurs in a good place for his successor. The North Londoners had the third-youngest squad in the Premier League last season, with only Brighton and Chelsea less experienced. The likes of Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall will have benefitted from a baptism of fire last season, while academy product Mikey Moore is one for the future. Advertisement Frank faces tough calls on those at the other end of the scale. Rodrigo Bentancur's unavailability is a concern, while Son Heung-min has not looked the player of old. Many neutrals were happy to see Son finally get his hands on silverware, but could it be the ideal time to bow out? He scored just seven league goals last season and does not possess the same electricity as in previous years. Son is 33 next month and has spent a decade with Spurs. A call on the captain is a tough one. Bring Brentford strengths to North London Frank's data-focused methodology has won admirers, with a recent insight into Brentford's decisions in the final third fascinating. A clamp-down on speculative shooting and focus on probability helped Brentford become one of the most efficient teams in the league. Elsewhere, set-pieces were a real strong point. Last season, just three teams conceded more goals from set-pieces than Spurs. Brentford boasted the best record in the entire Premier League on his metric, conceding just twice from such situations. A clear area of improvement to target. Advertisement Read – Club World Cup: Five exciting young talents to watch See more – Florian Wirtz: What will record-breaker bring to Liverpool? Benjamin Sesko: Arsenal handed massive transfer boost as striker target rules out possible destination
Arsenal have been handed a boost as Benjamin Sesko's preference is to stay in Europe this summer, despite interest from Saudi Arabia. Sesko is expected to be on the move during the upcoming transfer window after scoring 13 goals in the Bundesliga last 22-year-old is one of the striker targets Arsenal are considering and they have held talks with RB Leipzig. The German club are hoping to secure a fee in the region of £70million and are willing to part with their star striker after failing to qualify for the Champions League. Sesko has also attracted interest from Saudi Arabia and it is understood that two clubs from there have made approaches over the past month. The striker's preference and priority, however, is to carry on playing in Europe if he leaves Leipzig this summer. Sesko's stance is a boost for Arsenal, if they choose to formalise their interest with an official bid, while it will also please the striker's manager at international level, Matjaz Kek. The Slovenia boss has encouraged Sesko not to go to Saudi Arabia if he leaves Leipzig this summer. 'At his age, he shouldn't go! If someone from there is interested, it's a form of recognition,' Kek is quoted as saying by Slovenian news outlet Nogomania. 'I don't underestimate them - I've worked there myself. But there will be time for challenges like that later. 'I believe Benjamin, and the people around him, are smart enough to find the right solution. He needs to play and enjoy football. That's when he's at his best. He must not just play - he has to play with joy.' Sesko scored 13 goals in the Bundesliga last season, while he also chipped in with five assists, too. Leipzig finished seventh in the Bundesliga - missing out on European football for next season - which has boosted Arsenal's chances of landing Sesko. He needs to play and enjoy football. That's when he's at his best. He must not just play - he has to play with joy Matjaz Kek The Gunners have looked at other striker targets, including Aston Villa's Ollie Watkins and Sporting star Viktor Gyokeres. Mikel Arteta has stressed the need for Arsenal to add more firepower to their squad this summer. 'Well, what we have, what is clear as well with the amount of injuries that we had in the front line, that we need a goal threat and we need the firepower out there,' he said in May. 'Understanding that the context can change tomorrow, you know, and we cannot rely just on the numbers that we had before. 'And we have to add goals, we have to add creativity, we have to add numbers and that will be in different positions.'
