Josh Taylor issues apology for hasty Hydro exit after Ekow Essuman defeat as fans left to ponder one thing

The Tartan Tornado suffered his third consecutive defeat in Glasgow after stepping up to welterweight
Josh Taylor has apologised to fans for his sharp exit from the Hydro – but the former undisputed champ is leaving supporters guessing about his future.
The 34-year-old made a hasty departure from the ring following his points defeat to Ekow Essuman after stepping up to welterweight.

The Tartan Tornado is licking his wounds following three defeats on the spin on the back of his incredible rise to undisputed king inside just 18 fights.

Taylor paid tribute to the punters who have backed his charge to the top of the fight game.
But he fell short of confirming whether he'd fight on.
Taylor – posting on his social media – said: 'I would just like to apologise to all the fans last night for leaving the ring before having an interview and before taking the time to thank you all for showing up and showing out, as you always have done over the past 10 years.
'I headed to the changing rooms because I did not want to say something in the heat of the moment or that I'd later regret on live television.
'Your support means the world to me and you've created wonderful memories for me that will stay with me until the day I die.
'You've all helped to create some incredible moments in my life and despite the result, last night was another special night that was right up there, so thank each and every one of you.

'Thank you to Queensberry for bringing a big show back to Scotland and to Ekow once again on the victory.'
Taylor's close pal and former world champion Carl Frampton admitted it looks like the end of the road for the Prestonpans warrior.

He said: 'I seen glimpses of real good stuff at the start from Josh and then it just started to fade in the second half and just sadly, it looks like he's not the fighter that he once was and that's what happens when you're involved in hard fights and you get older.
'It happened to me and it happens to us all. It's a shame to see, a real shame to see.
'But again, like I've always said about Josh, he's someone who never got the credit he deserved when he should have had it.

'The guy should have been Sports Personality of the Year.
'Incredible, what he did when he became undisputed and who he fought to win it and how quickly he did it in his career.
'But it's clear to say that he's not the fighter that he used to be.'

The left-back is nearing the end of his contract and has been offered a deal by the Greek club. PAOK are reportedly ready to improve on Taylor's current Celtic terms with a two-year contract offer. Regardless of whether he accepts the offer, Taylor is expected to depart Celtic, with Kieran Tierney's arrival set to limit his playing time. Dinamo Zagreb have also shown interest in the player, but PAOK are optimistic about securing his signature. Read more: Former Hearts player Christos Karipidis, now PAOK's technical director, told Greek media outlet Alpha: "We are simply awaiting the formal part." Taylor, who is currently on a family holiday in Dubai, recently celebrated a successful season with Celtic, winning the double. However, he missed out on treble glory after a Scottish Cup final loss to Aberdeen. Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers expressed his desire for the 27-year-old to stay and compete with Tierney for the left-back position. Speaking before the cup final, he said: "I had a long conversation with Greg yesterday. "The door's not closed. "I think probably both he and I will just focus on the performance level of the team. "And I think once the season's over on Saturday then he'll have a bit more thinking time with a lot more space to be able to do that. "I wouldn't shut the door totally on it. "I think I gave probably a number of weeks back my feeling what may happen, just having experienced so many of these situations and what it can look like. "I would definitely say it's not 100 per cent it'll be his last game."

Greg Taylor cover broken amid Celtic transfer wait as Kvistgaarden emphatic amid £7.5m payday roadblock

It's set to be a blockbuster transfer window for the champions - and moves are already underway PAOK technical director Christos Karipidis has lifted the lid on talks with Greg Taylor. The Celtic left-back is weighing up his options ahead of his current Parkhead deal expiring this month - with Brendan Rodgers previously stating he is keen to keep the Scotland cap and see him battle it out with Kieran Tierney. ‌ But with the 27-year-old arriving from Arsenal, Taylor will see his status as first-choice left-back come under major scrutiny. ‌ PAOK have been strongly linked with the 27-year-old as they prepare for their Europa League campaign - and are said to have offered two year contract with the option of a third that will trump his current Celtic salary. Taylor is currently in Dubai with his family on holiday following the end of the double-winning season and speaking to Greek outlet Alpha, Karipidis appeared confident over an agreement. When asked about Taylor, he said: "We are simply awaiting the formal part." In terms of arrivals, Celtic are weighing up a blockbuster £12m bid for the Brondby star Mathias Kvistgaarden who is rated as one of the hottest properties in the Superliga. He has been called up to the Denmark national side for the first time amid rocketing interest from Eintracht Frankfurt and the Hoops - who have long been admirers of the 23-year-old. ‌ Before the end of the Danish season, the forward expressed he was ready to leave Brondby this summer. Speaking to TV 2 Sport after his first call-up he said: "I think I'm ready. I've made my mark at Brondby and in the Superliga, so I'm ready to take the next step." The club are also looking to offload fringe men - and despite Olympiacos will not pick up the £3.5million option-to-buy in Luis Palma 's loan El Heraldo report that the player's representatives are looking for "a route out of Celtic" permanently this summer. ‌ Gustaf Lagerbielke's permanent exit could also land the club a windfall - but FC Twente won't bring in the Swede long-term with a £3million option-to-buy with VI reporting there is a "good chance" he will return to Glasgow.
