Diddy's ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura told rapper in text messages she was 'always ready' to take part in 'Freak Offs', court hears
The ex-girlfriend of Sean ' Diddy ' Combs told him in text messages that she was 'always ready' to take part in sex parties, a court heard yesterday.
Casandra 'Cassie' Ventura, 38, told the rapper 'I just want it to be uncontrollable' while discussing one of the so-called 'Freak Offs' where she had sex with a male escort in front of him, jurors were told.
In other texts the R&B singer told Combs that she 'never felt so loved, safe, empowered' as when she was with him and that she felt 'protected when I'm in your arms'.
The messages were introduced by the hip-hop star's lawyers as they sought to undermine Ms Ventura's claims that she was coerced into taking part in the parties.
Ms Ventura is the star witness in the New York trial of Combs, 55, a three-time Grammy award winner who had a string of hits in the 1990s.
She has claimed she was forced to take part in hundreds of 'Freak Offs' during the decade she was with the hip-hop mogul.
She met Combs in 2006 when she was 19 and he was 36. They soon began a relationship and stayed together until 2018, when she broke things off.
During cross-examination by Combs' lawyer Anna Estevao yesterday, Ms Ventura was shown text messages in an attempt to demonstrate she was a willing participant in the sex parties.

Ms Ventura giggled while reading messages from 2007, just a few months into their relationship, which she likened to a 'journal entry'. She wrote: 'We've only really had one week of each other just together and I can say it's been the best and the worst... I've never felt so loved, safe, empowered since we've come together.
'I feel protected when I'm in your arms. You are one of the sweetest, most sincere people... I can't help but sit with you and dream up a beautiful future together.'
In another message, dated August 5, 2009, Combs wrote to Ms Ventura: 'When do you want to Freak Off LOL.'
Ms Ventura replied: 'LOL I'm just going up to change. I'm always ready to Freak Off LOLOL'. Asked if this was 'typical' of her communications with Combs, Ms Ventura said: 'Somewhat typical.'
Two days later, on August 7, 2009, Combs wrote to Ms Ventura: 'I can't wait to watch you, I want you to get real hot.'
She replied: 'Me too I just want it to be uncontrollable.'
Combs built up Ms Ventura with an 'inspiring energy', but at times was critical of her, she told the court.
On December 8, 2009, Ms Ventura voiced concerns that the last 'Freak Off' left her feeling 'dirty and grimy', jurors heard. In a message, she said: 'I get nervous that I'm just becoming the girlfriend you get your fantasies off with and that's it. I don't get the other part... any more at least.'
But by July 2012, her feelings seemed to have changed again, and Ms Estevao read out messages to suggest she went along with the 'Freak Offs'.
Combs wrote to Ms Ventura: 'One of my fav times was when we FOed [Freak Offed] and made love after.'
Ms Ventura replied: 'I love when we make love after [a Freak Off]. The last time was so good.'
On Wednesday, jurors were shown images of what Ms Ventura described as bruises inflicted by Combs.
The court heard the rapper suspected Ms Ventura was having a revenge affair with actor Michael B Jordan.
Ms Ventura said she dumped Combs in 2015 after seeing a video of him and a woman called Gina at an event while she was on a film set in South Africa.
She said Combs suspected she got together with Jordan, who was in Cape Town at the same time. Ms Ventura said she 'wasn't there' to see how Combs reacted when he found out about her relationship with Jordan.
Ms Ventura and Combs eventually patched things up and stayed together until 2018.
In a civil lawsuit she filed against Combs in 2023, Ms Ventura said she began a 'flirtatious relationship' with Jordan while she was in South Africa – and that they did have an affair.
'She spent New Year's Eve with this actor but Mr Combs soon found out,' the lawsuit stated.
'Mr Combs called the actor and threatened him. The actor proceeded to call Ms Ventura and tell her, 'You really need to call Mr Combs'.'
Ms Ventura also revealed that she was jealous of the rapper's ex-partner Kim Porter because Combs was still publicly linked with the mother of his children.
She said she was upset when he spent special occasions with Ms Porter and his children instead of with her.
Combs and Ms Porter were in an on-off relationship from 1994 to 2007. Ms Porter had been photographed with Combs and their children in the months before her death in 2018.
Judge Arun Subramanian said he wanted Ms Ventura, who is eight months' pregnant with her third child, off the stand by today.
Combs denies sex trafficking, racketeering and other charges. He faces life in jail if convicted.

'Ted Lasso' stars tell Los Angeles to surrender to the World Cup vibe
LOS ANGELES, June 11 (Reuters) - The creators and stars of award-winning comedy series "Ted Lasso" were among those expressing hope that the World Cup would bring people together at an event in Los Angeles on Wednesday marking the one-year countdown to the tournament. Los Angeles will be one of the main host cities for the soccer showpiece in North America, welcoming eight matches including the United States' first match and a quarter-final. Brendan Hunt, a co-creator and actor in the Apple TV+ show about an upstart British football team with a U.S. coach, said Americans should embrace the influx of visitors from around the world. "What America needs to get ready for with this World Cup is something that most Americans instinctively know, but just to make sure for those who don't - there will be many people here who were not born here," Hunt said during an on-stage interview. "And just because they weren't born here, you don't need to be afraid of them." "Platform used," said fellow co-creator Jason Sudeikis, who plays Lasso on the show. Hunt said the tournament would be incredible. "You have to prepare yourself to surrender to a vibe you've never quite seen before because when folks come to these cities to see their teams play, they will take over in a way that is absolutely as benevolent as it is overwhelming," he added. The countdown to the tournament, which the U.S. is co-hosting with Mexico and Canada, comes on the heels of U.S. President Donald Trump's directive banning citizens from 12 countries from entering the U.S., though athletes are exempt. The Trump administration has also said it will deploy 4,000 National Guard troops and 700 Marines to Los Angeles to help protect federal property and personnel during the ongoing protests in the city. The protests broke out in response to a series of immigration raids in a city with a large immigrant population. Cobi Jones, who played for the U.S. in three World Cups, said he hoped the event would be a unifying one. "This is the game we all love and I'm hoping it can bring people together," he told Reuters on the red carpet of the event at Fox Studio Lot in Los Angeles. "When we're talking about the travel bans, I'm hoping that FIFA can work together with our government to find a way that everyone can be here and everyone can enjoy this sport because it's a cultural event that's happening here in a year." FIFA President Gianni Infantino said last month after meeting with U.S. President Trump he was confident visitors would be welcomed for the World Cup as well as the Club World Cup, which runs from June 14 to July 13 and also has matches in Los Angeles.

Surviving Beach Boys pay tribute to ‘genius' Brian Wilson
The surviving original members of the Beach Boys have paid tribute to the 'genius' of Brian Wilson after his death aged 82. His cousin Mike Love, 84, said Wilson's 'musical gifts were unmatched' while Al Jardine described his bandmate as 'my brother in spirit'. Advertisement Wilson was the eldest and last surviving of the three brothers who formed the American rock band with Love and school friend Jardine in 1961. 'The melodies he dreamed up, the emotions he poured into every note – Brian changed the course of music forever,' Love wrote in a lengthy post on Facebook, saying there was 'something otherworldly' about Wilson. 'Like all families, we had our ups and downs. But through it all, we never stopped loving each other, and I never stopped being in awe of what he could do when he sat at a piano or his spontaneity in the studio.' Describing Wilson as 'fragile, intense, funny' and 'one of a kind', he said his music 'allowed us to show the world what vulnerability and brilliance sound like in harmony'. Advertisement 'Brian, you once asked 'Wouldn't it be nice if we were older?' Now you are timeless,' he wrote. 'You were a humble giant who always made me laugh and we will celebrate your music forever.' On Wednesday, Wilson's family said in a statement on his website: 'We are heartbroken to announce that our beloved father Brian Wilson has passed away. We are at a loss for words right now. Please respect our privacy at this time as our family is grieving.' Rest in peace dear Brian. — Bob Dylan (@bobdylan) June 11, 2025 Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood, 78, paid tribute to Wilson and US musician Sly Stone, who died earlier this week, in a social media post, saying: 'Oh no Brian Wilson and Sly Stone in one week – my world is in mourning, so sad.' His bandmate Keith Richards, 81, posted an extract of his 2010 memoir, Life, on Instagram, recalling hearing The Beach Boys for the first time on the radio and his reaction to their 1966 album Pet Sounds. The extract reads: 'When we first got to America and to LA, there was a lot of Beach Boys on the radio, which was pretty funny to us – it was before Pet Sounds – it was hot rod songs and surfing songs, pretty lousily played, familiar Chuck Berry licks going on… 'It was later on, listening to Pet Sounds, well, it's a little bit overproduced for me, but Brian Wilson had something.' Advertisement Sean Ono Lennon, the son of John Lennon and Yoko Ono, described Wilson as 'our American Mozart' in a post on X while The Monkees drummer Micky Dolenz said 'his melodies shaped generations, & his soul resonated in every note'. We are heartbroken to announced that our beloved father Brian Wilson has passed away. We are at a loss for words right now. Please respect our privacy at this time as our family grieving. We realize that we are sharing our grief with the world. Love & Mercy — Brian Wilson (@BrianWilsonLive) June 11, 2025 Wilson was born on June 20th, 1942, and began to play the piano and teach his brothers to sing harmony as a young boy. The Beach Boys started as a neighbourhood act, rehearsing in Wilson's bedroom and in the garage of their house in suburban Hawthorne, California with Wilson playing bass alongside his brothers Dennis as the drummer and Carl on lead guitar. The band were managed by the trio's father, Murry Wilson, but by mid-decade he had been displaced and Brian, who had been running the band's recording sessions almost from the start, was in charge. They released their most recognised album, Pet Sounds, in May 1966, which included the popular songs Wouldn't It Be Nice and God Only Knows. Wilson married singer Marilyn Rovell in 1964 and the couple welcomed daughters Carnie and Wendy, whom he became estranged from following their divorce. The Beach Boys' Carl Wilson, Al Jardine, Dennis Wilson, Brian Wilson and Mike Love (PA) He later reconciled with them and they sang together on the 1997 album The Wilsons, which was also the name of a music group formed by Carnie and Wendy following the break-up of pop vocal group Wilson Phillips. Wilson, who had dealt with mental health and drug problems, got his life back on track in the 1990s and married talent manager Melinda Ledbetter. When Ledbetter died last year, Wilson said their five children, Daria, Delanie, Dylan, Dash and Dakota, were 'in tears'. Wilson was also embroiled in multiple lawsuits some of which followed from the release of his 1991 autobiography, Wouldn't It Be Nice: My Own Story. The Beach Boys were inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame in 1988 and received a Lifetime Achievement Grammy Award in 2001. Wilson's brother, Dennis, died in 1983, while Carl died in 1998.
