Bills Draft Rookie Who Is Best At The 1 Thing He Does

The Buffalo Bills had a solid draft class with defense being a key priority, but the offense also had some nice additions.
One of which was Georgia Tech tight end Jackson Hawes.
While some might look at Hawes' stats from last season and ask themselves why the Bills would draft a tight end who isn't a good receiver, well, he's seen as the best blocking tight end in college.

In a similar role to what Dawson Knox does, Hawes comes to Buffalo looking to establish himself as a bruising blocker.
For Greg Cosell, who was a guest on One Bills Live, he knows exactly what Hawes is coming to Buffalo to do.
"Of the ones I saw, which was a good amount, I think he was the best blocking tight end that I watched," Cosell said. "He's not necessarily a receiver, but they're not drafting him to do that."

So yes, Hawes isn't a receiving tight end, but that's fine, Buffalo has Dalton Kincaid to do that.
But with James Cook, Ty Johnson, Ray Davis, and Josh Allen, the Bills have quite the star-studded cast to run the ball with. However, to do that, you need good blockers - enter Hawes.

"I think you just got to be comfortable sticking your face in there," Hawes said on his blocking prowess. "You can't blink, my mentality is my eyes are like the lasers, man, and I'm just staring down my target, and then I'm not satisfied until I'm moving them."
So, he knows his key strength, and he is bringing that to a Bills team that has a reputation for being the bully of the AFC East.
Some might scoff at the notion of drafting a tight end for the sole purpose of blocking, but Hawes can be a receiver when called upon. As Cosell stated, that's not what Buffalo intends to do with him - he's going to physically overpower defenders in the run game.
And he'll do it with a smile on his face, too.

WWE Worlds Collide 2025 results, awards, analysis: El Hijo del Vikingo, Chad Gable deliver one of WWE's best of the year

It's a big weekend for WWE, as its partnership with AAA kicked off properly with WWE Worlds Collide 2025 on Saturday inside Los Angeles' Kia Forum. The event served as a good appetizer to WWE Money In the Bank 2025. Two titles were on the line, highlighted by the AAA Mega Championship that saw the champion El Hijo del Vikingo defend against Chad Gable in a great showcase to close the event. As the only singles match on the card, it was bound to get plenty of time, especially with the big title implication. After several stunning near-falls, Gable ultimately fell short to the high-flying Vikingo's patented 630 splash. Advertisement The co-main event featured NXT North American Champion Ethan Page against three challengers in a Fatal 4-Way. Page retained in yet another highway theft type of finish, scoring the pin on Laredo Kid to overcome the odds. Je'Von Evans and Rey Fenix played critical roles that fully displayed their incredible talents. In the night's lone women's match, former NXT Women's Champion Stephanie Vaquer joined forces with Lola Vice to take out Chik Tormenta and Dalys. It was largely a showcase for Vaquer, who will look to capture the women's Money In the Bank briefcase later in the night. I give Worlds Collide a crown score of: 👑 8/10. 👑 Worlds Collide Uncrowned Nightly Award Winners: MVP: Chad Gable Thanks in part to his hidden El Grande Americano gimmick (so we assume), Gable has really gotten time to shine in recent months. His match with Vikingo was as much of a reminder as the world could've asked for about how great he is. Gable is a genuine main-event talent who, if presented with a more serious persona — think "wrestling machine" Kurt Angle — would be widely regarded as one of the best on the planet. Advertisement I don't like that the Angle comparisons have gotten as far as they have, as easy as they are to make, but WWE is in too deep now, so let's embrace them to the fullest. Uncrowned Gem of the Night: Mr. Iguana Mr. Iguana was an absolute star in his match. Very clearly a silly, fun and borderline harmless gimmick, Mr. Iguana can go when the bell rings, and is just an entertaining wrestler to watch. You can only take something like what he is so far, but for what it is, it's a great time. Match of the Night: El Hijo de Vikingo vs. Chad Gable This was a foregone conclusion, and that almost felt by design. While some of the massive near-fall spots toward the end of the match were a bit too ridiculous for my liking, they were executed beautifully. The styles contrast between both men blended wonderfully and delivered one of the best WWE matches of the year. Advertisement Best Spot: Fenix's top-rope Spanish fly to Kid into an Ego's Edge from Page Take your pick between the title matches for the card's best spot. It could be any of them, but the sequence between Fenix, Kid and Page flowed so gorgeously that it deserves some extra love. If you missed Worlds Collide, definitely go back and watch the final two matches, at the very least.
