Reach Ten Posts RM7.1 Million In Net Profit, Declares Maiden Dividend Post-Listing
Sarawak-based telecommunications company Reach Ten Holdings Bhd has declared its first interim single-tier dividend of one sen per share, amounting to RM10 million, for the financial year ending Dec 31, 2025. The dividend will be paid on July 31, 2025, to shareholders on record as of June 30, 2025.
The announcement comes shortly after the company's listing on Bursa Malaysia's Main Market on May 2, and marks its first dividend payout as a public entity.
Managing Director Leo Chin said the move aligns with Reach Ten's policy to distribute up to 30% of the company's net profit, reflecting its focus on sustainable shareholder returns.
'With healthy cash and bank balances and fixed deposits of RM63 million, Reach Ten aims to strike a balance between rewarding shareholders and reinvesting for future growth,' Chin noted.
Chin shared that for the company's first quarter results for the period ended March 31, 2025 (1Q25), Reach Ten posted a net profit of RM7.1 million on revenue of RM23.1 million, representing two months of post-merger performance under MFRS 3 compliance. On a full-quarter basis, adjusted figures would have stood at RM28.4 million in revenue and RM8.2 million in net profit.
Reach Ten's performance was driven primarily by its satellite-based communications segment, which contributed 63.2% of revenue. Fibre optic services and telecom infrastructure accounted for 21.4% and 15.4%, respectively.
Chin noted that with broadband coverage in Malaysia's populated areas nearing 97.3%, and growing demand in Sarawak, Reach Ten sees strong momentum ahead.
'We remain confident in our growth trajectory, especially with our strategic focus on underserved markets in Sarawak.
'This, combined with supportive government policies and expanding infrastructure, positions us well to deliver long-term value,' Chin added. Related

Concert organisers encouraged to apply for CEMI
KULAI: The Communications Ministry encourages concert and large-scale, high-impact event organisers to register with the new Concert and Event in Malaysia Incentives (CEMI) initiative to enjoy financial rebates. Its deputy minister, Teo Nie Ching said this initiative not only applies to the organisation of international concerts and events but also involves local artists in large-scale programmes within the country. According to her, RM10 million is allocated annually and applications have been open from May 15 and ends July 10. 'This programme is managed by MyCreative Ventures (MyCV), with the support of the Communications Ministry, focusing on organising concerts and high-impact events, particularly involving capacities exceeding 15,000 spectators with the participation of local and international artists. This is a new initiative introduced by the government to further invigorate the local arts industry,' she said at a press conference after officiating the Kulai parliamentary level SPM 2024 Excellent Student Contribution Programme at the Kulai Parliamentary District Education Office (PPD) here today. She said that there are several main conditions that organisers must comply with to qualify for the incentive, including having experience in organising large-scale events, with a capacity of 15,000 people within three years from the date of application. 'For financing of international artists, organisers need a minimum of 20 per cent of the total Qualifying Malaysian Concert and Event Spend (QMCES) with at least 30 per cent involvement of Malaysians to qualify for 30 per cent of the actual QMCES expenditure or a maximum of RM1.5 million (whichever is lower). The rebate will be fully disbursed after the project is completed and the final report is approved. 'For financing of local artists, on the other hand, the rebate distribution is the same, but the organisers must spend 70 per cent of the total QMCES in Malaysia to qualify for 30 per cent of the actual QMCES expenditure or a maximum of RM1 million (whichever is lower),' she said. In other developments, Teo, who is also the Kulai Member of Parliament, said a total of 107, 687 fraudulent contents or scams were removed by platform providers at the request of the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) from January to April 15. She said that among the most frequently removed content were online gambling and scams. 'As of April 15, the takedowns carried out by the platform provider at the request of MCMC amounted to 107,687, with the majority being 57,669 related to gambling and 30,427 related to scams,' she also said. Therefore, she added, the public is advised to be more cautious and not easily be deceived by content or advertisements that promise high returns in a short period to avoid becoming victims of fraud.

Umno must have 7 ministers with Tengku Zafrul's exit, Zahid tells Anwar
Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said he will get legal advice on whether Tengku Zafrul Aziz is liable for a RM100 million fine having violated an agreement signed before the 15th general election. (Bernama pic) PETALING JAYA : Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has called for the prime minister to ensure his party is restored to its quota of seven ministers in the Cabinet following Tengku Zafrul Aziz's resignation from the party. Zahid said Umno has only six ministers now, Bernama reported. 'For me, what matters more is that Umno is represented by seven ministers in the Cabinet. Although we are not sure if Tengku Zafrul's appointment was under Umno's capacity or otherwise, the assumption is that it was because he was from Umno. 'With Tengku Zafrul no longer in Umno, the party has a right to request that a minister's portfolio be given to us,' he was quoted as saying after an event in Sarawak today. Zahid also confirmed that Umno has officially received Tengku Zafrul's resignation letter, which was submitted to the party's executive secretary, Sumali Reduan, earlier this morning. 'Yesterday, when we checked (after the news broke), we had not received the letter,' he said. 'But this morning, after checking again, it was confirmed that the letter had been sent to the executive secretary.' On whether Tengku Zafrul violated any agreements signed during the 15th general election (GE15) by leaving the party, Zahid said he would consult Umno's legal advisers. He pointed out that party candidates who leave may face a RM100 million fine based on their sworn statements. 'Tengku Zafrul contested and lost, but was reappointed as a senator. So I need to check with Umno's legal advisers first,' he said. Tengku Zafrul announced yesterday that he had resigned from Umno and all party positions, and would be applying to join PKR, led by Anwar. Citing 'compatibility and suitability', Tengku Zafrul said he decided to leave Umno after seeking advice from friends within and outside the party.
