TV actor who once worked with Shah Rukh Khan, Kareena, Hrithik; later lost work, battled depression, died in sleep at 48
Bollywood is filled with lost and forgotten talents and names. One of them is an actor who rose to fame from the television industry, and earned a name in Bollywood, working alongside A-listers like Shah Rukh Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Hrithik Roshan, Amitabh Bachchan and Kajol among others. However, despite a promising start, his presence slowly faded from the limelight. With time, he lost out on work and even his friends from the industry left, he once said. He struggled with depression, and financial problems and years later, passed away in sleep at just 48. We are talking about the late actor Vicky Sethi. Vicky Sethi passed away last year on 8 September in his sleep after suffering a heart attack. He was 48. He is survived by his wife Jhanvi Sethi and their twin sons. Talking about his death, Jhanvi told the news agency PTI that the actor was staying at her parents' house in Nashik when Vikas fell unwell. "After we reached my mother's house in Nashik, he had vomiting and loose motions. He didn't want to go to the hospital so we asked the doctor to come home," she told the media. She added, "When I went to wake him up at around 6 am [on Sunday], he was no more. The doctor there told us he passed away last night in his sleep due to a cardiac arrest." Vikas Sethi made his debut in the entertainment industry in the early 2000s. His first TV show was Dil Na Jane Kyon but he rose to fame with Ekta Kapoor's Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. He starred in several TV shows including Kahiin To Hoga, Kasautii Zindagii Kay, Uttaran, Geet Hui Sabse Parayee, Darr Sabko Lagta Hai and Yeh Vada Raha. His last TV show was Sasural Simar Ka. In Bollywood, he starred in the 2001 film Deewaanapan, starring Arjun Rampal and Dia Mirza. He starred in Karan Johar's Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham… in a small, supporting role, sharing screenspace with Kareena Kapoor aka Poo. The film also starred Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Hrithik Roshan and Rani Mukerji. Vikas also starred in films like Oops, Modh and ISmart Shankar, which did not gain much success. He had also participated in the fourth season of the dance reality show, Nach Baliye with his ex Amita, before marrying Jhanvi. Besides the fame, Vikas also struggled with depression at a phase in his life. He once told the Bombay Times about it when he was facing financial problems and was 'clinically depressed.' He said in the interview, 'It was a tough and frustrating phase. It wasn't just about being out of work, but I was also facing difficulties on the personal front. I was suffering monetarily and was clinically depressed.' In the same interview, Vikas had admitted his absence from the industry and said, 'Yes, I have made mistakes, but isn't that human? If I had known that those mistakes would cost me my career, I would have avoided them. But now, I am positive and in a happy space. I am also getting a good response from people.' He had also shared how his friends from the industry left his side during his tough time. 'Friends who would stand outside my home, asking me to party with them, suddenly disappeared when I wasn't doing anything," he had added and credited his supportive family, especially his wife for being his pillar of strength. During his last year, Vikas had appeared in an ad for Spotify India.

Aap Jaisa Koi trailer out: R Madhavan, Fatima Sana Shaikh love story to battle patriarchy in this romantic drama
Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], June 25 (ANI): The makers of R Madhavan and Fatima Sana Shaikh starrer 'Aap Jaisa Koi' have finally released the trailer of the film on Wednesday. Set to stream on OTT giant Netflix, to see Madhavan and Fatima Shaikh in a romantic-comedy has created a much hype ever since the makers released the movie's first look a few months ago. Taking to his Instagram handle, actor R Madhavan shared the trailer for the film, which features a unique chemistry between him and Fatima Sana Shaikh. Starring Madhavan as Shrirenu, a reserved Sanskrit teacher, and Fatima Shaikh as Madhu, a spirited French instructor, 'Aap Jaisa Koi' brings together two opposites in a story that's as much about family and belonging as it is about romance. According to the trailer, the movie is about the love between a couple who must overcome obstacles stemming from different cultures and ideologies. The Netflix film features Madhavan as Shrirenu Tripathi, who has been raised in a rigid Jamshedpur-based family led by patriarchs who abide by a set of rules and regulations for women. Situations take a downturn when Madhavan falls in love with Fatima. Fatima hails from an independent family and believes in speaking her mind, objecting to the systemic condition of women being forced to follow rather than lead. The movie features the collision of two contrasting ideologies, leaving the couple heartbroken as their love suffers. Take a look at their trailer, The film is directed by Vivek Soni. The filmmaker says that 'Aap Jaisa Koi' is set to showcase a modern romance which highlights the need for real connections in today's world. "Aap Jaisa Koi is a film about breaking free from the walls we build around ourselves. It's about embracing the awkwardness and vulnerability of love. Working with Netflix again after Meenakshi Sundareshwar has been a fulfilling experience, and I'm excited to present a love story that's tender, messy, and intimate, one that embraces vulnerability without losing its charm and breeziness. It quietly questions the roles we fall into in relationships and reflects the quiet courage it takes to truly let someone in. With R Madhavan and Fatima Sana Shaikh bringing so much heart to their roles, the film reflects the authenticity that Netflix viewers truly connect with. It's a modern romance that speaks to the need for real connections in today's world," said Vivek Soni. The movie is produced under the banner of Dharmatic Entertainments. (ANI) The movie is set to stream from July 11. (ANI)

While Jaideep has worked with Ranbir in Rockstar, he shared screen space with SRK in Raees and wil reunite with the megastar in King, which also stars Rani Mukerji, Abhishek Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Jackie Shroff, Anil Kapoor, Arshad Warsi, Abhay Verma and Suhana Khan in key roles read more Jaideep Ahlawat, who has been garnering accolades and praises for his performances and portrayals this year with Paatal Lok 2 and Jewel Thief, shared his reaction when he was asked to give his opinion on Shah Rukh Khan not being considered by intellectuals when they talk about great actors. The versatile star called himself a 'chota insaan (insignificant person)' to give his opinion about SRK. 'Main bohut chota insaan hoon in sab cheezo k liye… ki main Khan sir ki ya Ranbir Kapoor ki popularity ko judge karu ki woh kis tarah ka abhineta hai ya kis tarah ka star hai? Mujhe aesa manna hai ki yeh koi jaan bujhke nahi hua hoga. Popularity hona, stardom hona ek alag cheez hai, usmein abhineta bhi ho sakta hai (I'm an insignificant person to talk about these things…to judge the popularity of Shah Rukh or Ranbir Kapoor , as an actor and star. I don't think it was done intentionally. To have popularity and stardom is a different matter, an actor can also be part of it),' said Jaideep while talking to The Lallantop. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD 'I feel Ranbir Kapoor kamaal ka actor hai (wonderful), brilliant actor hai. Ho sakta hai ki woh Shah Rukh Khan jitne bade nahi ho (Maybe he won't be as big as Shah Rukh Khan). Shah Rukh Khan ko Shah Rukh Khan banane mein sirf abhinay nahi, woh jo ek judao hai na logon ke saath, uska bohot bada haath hojata hai. Zaroori nahi ki sirf talent k naam pe aap itne bade star hosako, ek abhinay k talent k naam pe (Only acting alone didn't make Shah Rukh Khan who he is today, the connection he has with people has played a big role. It's not necessary that a person becomes a big star only on the basis of talent, only on talent for acting),' he added. While Jaideep has worked with Ranbir in Rockstar, he shared screen space with SRK in Raees and wil reunite with the megastar in King, which also stars Rani Mukerji, Abhishek Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Jackie Shroff, Anil Kapoor, Arshad Warsi, Abhay Verma and Suhana Khan in key roles.
