News1807-05-2025

Last Updated:
iQOO Neo 10 is going to be the latest mid-range phone in the market and also the first to feature the Qualcomm chipset.
iQOO Neo 10 launch in India is confirmed and we could see the new device introduced in the coming weeks. The company has shared a teaser of the iQOO Neo 10 design which looks identical to the existing Neo 10R that comes with a dual-tone design.
The company will continue with its traditional square camera module, where an LED ring complements the dual-lens setup. The iQOO Neo 10 is expected to have a punch-hole front camera. The new handset is tipped to exude 'elegance", thanks to its 'refined design".
The iQOO Neo 10 will be offered in two colour options– a Bright Orange variant with dual-tone finish and white accents, quite similar to 10R's Raging Blue model, and a titanium-coloured variant like 10R's MoonKnight Titanium model.
As per the Geekbench listing, IQOO is ready to introduce the newly launched Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chip with the new Neo 10 model. An additional Q1 chip will also be there to enhance the graphics performance.
The upcoming device will run Android 15 OS based on Funtouch OS in India and both models could come with 12GB of RAM.
We expect the iQOO Neo 10 model to sport a 6.78-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate. The iQOO Z10 Turbo seems like the closest model to come as the Neo 10 in India. It also has a dual rear camera setup – a 50MP primary sensor and an 8MP ultrawide sensor. The selfie camera is 16MP, while the 7,000mAh battery supports 120W fast charging.
Going by these features, the iQOO Neo 10 series could be priced around Rs 35,000 in the Indian market.

Qualcomm fixes 3 critical chip vulnerabilities exploited by hackers: List of chipsets affected

Qualcomm has announced that it has released patches for a series of vulnerabilities affecting dozens of its chips, including three zero-day flaws that the chipmaker says may be under active exploitation by hackers. Qualcomm cited Google's Threat Analysis Group (TAG), which focuses on government-backed cyberattacks, indicating that these three flaws 'may be under limited, targeted exploitation.' According to the information revealed by the company, the vulnerabilities were reported to Qualcomm by Google's Android security team in February. What it means for users Due to the open-source and distributed nature of Android, applying these patches for phones running on affected chipsets now falls to individual device manufacturers, such as Samsung, Xiaomi, Vivo, Oppo and more. This means some devices may remain vulnerable for several weeks, even though fixes are available. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 夢の農場を作り上げよう アドベンチャーゲーム ゲームをプレイ Undo Qualcomm stated in its bulletin that patches were provided to device makers in May, with a strong recommendation for immediate deployment. As per TechCrunch, Qualcomm spokesperson Dave Schefcik acknowledged the fixes, urging "end users to apply security updates as they become available from device makers." Meanwhile, Google spokesperson Ed Fernandez confirmed that Google's Pixel devices are not affected by these specific Qualcomm vulnerabilities. Chipsets in mobile devices are frequent targets for zero-day exploit developers due to their broad access to the operating system. This allows attackers to potentially move to other sensitive data areas on the device. Zero-day vulnerabilities are unknown to the software or hardware maker at the time of discovery, making them valuable targets for cybercriminals and state-sponsored hackers. Vivo X Fold 5 could launch with slimmer design, bigger battery and lower price than Fold 3 Pro

Vivo is preparing to unveil its upcoming foldable smartphone, the Vivo X Fold 5, later this year. Although the company has not yet confirmed any official details, leaks and reports have started revealing key features and specifications of the device. These leaks suggest that the Vivo X Fold 5 could offer improvements over its predecessor, the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro, including a slimmer design and a lower price point. According to a post by a reliable tipster, Panda on Weibo, the Vivo X Fold 5 Pro will feature a 6,000 mAh battery. The device is expected to support fast charging capabilities, with 90W wired charging and 30W wireless charging support. These specifications would make the foldable stand out for its battery capacity among competing models. This combination aims to deliver smooth performance for multitasking and demanding applications. Furthermore, the Vivo X Fold 5 is expected to feature an 8.03-inch foldable AMOLED display with 2K+ resolution as its main screen. In addition, a secondary 6.53-inch LTPO OLED display will serve as the cover screen. Both displays are rumoured to support a 120Hz refresh rate, which will help provide smoother visuals. The foldable will reportedly carry dual 32MP selfie cameras, one placed on the cover display and another on the inside. The rear setup may include a 50MP Sony IMX921 primary sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide lens with autofocus, and a 50MP IMX882 periscope telephoto lens capable of 3x optical zoom. The tipster also suggested that the Vivo X Fold 5 could launch at a price lower than the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro. The Fold 3 Pro debuted in China in March 2024 at CNY 9,999 (around Rs. 1,16,000) for the 16GB + 512GB version. A higher-end 16GB + 1TB model was priced at CNY 10,999 (around Rs. 1,27,600). Also read: iPhone 16e quick review: Compact but powerful contender The Vivo X Fold 5 is expected to compete with other foldable phones such as the Oppo Find N5 and the Honor Magic V5 in the Chinese market. For reference, the Oppo Find N5 starts at CNY 8,999 (roughly Rs. 1,06,700) for the 12GB + 256GB model and reaches up to CNY 10,999 (around Rs. 1,30,400) for the 16GB + 1TB variant. This suggests that Vivo could position the X Fold 5 within a similar price range to remain competitive. Reports also indicate a possible launch in India next month, alongside the Vivo X200 FE. This move could help Vivo expand its foldable device portfolio in the growing Indian smartphone market.
