After Iran, India to now evacuate nationals from Israel under Operation Sindhu
Tensions in West Asia escalated sharply after Israel launched Operation Rising Lion 13 June, targeting Iranian nuclear sites, senior military officials and Iranian nuclear scientists. Iran retaliated with Operation True Promise 3, launching ballistic missiles at Israel.
In a statement, the MEA said the evacuation process from Israel would involve travel by land within the region, followed by air transport to India. The Indian embassy in Tel Aviv has been tasked with coordinating and facilitating the evacuation, the statement said.
New Delhi: The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) Thursday announced an evacuation plan for Indian nationals from Israel under Operation Sindhu, a day after the government launched the exercise to bring home nationals from Iran amid escalating tensions between the two countries.
The embassy has reiterated its previous advisories, calling on all Indian nationals in Israel to remain alert and adhere strictly to safety instructions issued by local authorities, particularly the Home Front Command.
'The Government of India accords the highest priority to the safety and security of Indian nationals abroad,' the statement Thursday noted. 'We are closely monitoring the situation and the Embassy remains in constant touch with the Indian community in Israel to provide all feasible assistance.'

The move reflects India's proactive approach to safeguard its citizens amid growing regional instability and is part of New Delhi's ongoing efforts to respond swiftly to crises involving Indian nationals overseas.
On Wednesday, the MEA said it successfully evacuated 110 students from Iran under Operation Sindhu.
In a statement, it said that in the initial phase of the operation, the students were evacuated from the northern part of the country, travelling by road to Yerevan, the capital of Armenia, 17 June. From there, they boarded a special flight at 2:55 pm 18 June and arrived in New Delhi early 19 June.
With the Israel-Iran conflict intensifying, US President Donald Trump urged all civilians in Tehran to evacuate 'immediately' and hinted at possible US intervention. The G7 has issued a statement blaming Iran for regional instability and reaffirmed that Tehran must not acquire nuclear weapons.
