Aamir Khan Makes SHOCKING Confession, Says 'Yash Chopra Removed Me From Darr'

Last Updated: Eventually, the film was made with Shah Rukh Khan, Sunny Deol and Juhi Chawla and turned out to be a huge success, even winning a National Award. For years, it was believed that Aamir Khan turned down Darr, the 1993 psychological thriller that ultimately became one of Shah Rukh Khan's breakthrough roles. Now, Aamir has clarified that he never rejected the film, he was actually removed from it. Speaking with Zoom Fan Club, Aamir said, 'Darr ko maine na nahi haan bola tha. Mujhe nikala gaya tha." He explained that he had asked for a joint narration, since it was a two-hero film. 'Mera principle hai, jab do actor hote hai saath mein director ko joint narration dena hai. Yashji ko joint narration nahi dena tha. Unhone mujhe nikaal diya."(I didn't say no to Darr, I was removed. Since it had two lead actors, I asked for a joint narration. Yash Chopra didn't agree and removed me.) Aamir said that it's his standard approach when collaborating on multi-starrer films. He prefers listening to the script together with co-stars to ensure cohesive teamwork. 'Har aadmi ki alag thinking hoti hai… hum as a team kaam kare," he added. He also recalled a similar situation during Andaz Apna Apna with Salman Khan. 'Salman ne teen dafa cancel kiya. Unke secretary the, unhone bola Salman sun lenge baad mein aap log sun lo. Maine kaha jab Salman sunega tab main sununga."(Salman cancelled three narrations. His secretary said we could proceed without him. I said I'd wait for him. After three cancellations, he showed up and we heard the script together.) This process didn't align with Yash Chopra's working style for Darr. Eventually, the film was made with Shah Rukh Khan, Sunny Deol and Juhi Chawla and turned out to be a huge success, even winning a National Award. Meanwhile, Aamir is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film Sitaare Zameen Par, co-starring Genelia Deshmukh. Directed by RS Prasanna, the film is scheduled to hit theatres on June 20. This superstar was once paid only Rs 5000 as his fees, audience found him unfit for mainstream actor, today he is India's most bankable actor, he net worth is... The glitzy and glamorous world of cinema is truly unpredictable. While one day an actor would be a nobody. The next day, he would become a star, captivating the hearts of millions. One such similar tale is of an actor who started at his journey with peanuts with barely a fee of Rs. 5000, and today there are fans lined up in front of his house every Sunday to get a glimpse of him. Yes, we are talking about the shahenshah of Bollywood, Amitabh Bachchan. Amitabh started his career with a film where he wasn't even playing the lead part. Directed by Khwaja Ahmed Abbas, the film was Saat Hindustani. The film featured Amitabh Bachchan and six other actors, including Anwar Ali, Utpal Dutt, Jalal Agha, and Dina Pathak. Besides being a multi-starrer film, it turned out to be a huge flop at the box office, and Amitabh Bachchan was only paid Rs. 5000 for the entire project. Actor and filmmaker Tinnu Anand, who was also part of the film, once spoke in an interview and recalled that he was given the 'dirty job' of giving this newcomer his entire payment of Rs. 5000, for however long the film took to make. This film was Amitabh Bachchan's debut movie, and during that time, his deep voice that makes the entire world go crazy today worked against him. People considered his voice too heavy and his height too tall. During that time, his USP was his barriers, which stood in the way of his revolutionary career. He got the role through a recommendation by actress Neena Singh, but even then, he was asked to travel to Mumbai and audition at his own expense. It wasn't a grand welcome, just an uncertain opportunity. While later, the film won a National Award and was appreciated for its performances, it didn't do well commercially. Amitabh Bachchan was noticed but not appreciated But the tides turned out soon, and his qualities, which were considered barriers, became his greatest strengths. While once he was overshadowed and overlooked, today he stands as a towering figure in Indian Cinema. Amitabh Bachchan is the topmost celebrated and bankable actor in India today with a net worth of approximately Rs. 3200 crores to Rs. 3700 crores, and he continues to resonate with the audience even after 5 decades of his being in the industry.

Rupali Ganguly Lauds PM Modi For Breaking Menstrual Taboos: 'I Feel Very Proud'

Published By : IANS Last Updated: Drawing attention to the importance of accessible sanitary products and menstrual education, Rupali Ganguly emphasized how the PM's efforts have sparked meaningful conversations. Actress Rupali Ganguly has lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi for addressing menstrual hygiene on national platforms and helping break long-standing taboos surrounding the subject in India. Drawing attention to the importance of accessible sanitary products and menstrual education, Rupali emphasised how the Prime Minister's efforts have sparked meaningful conversations and brought much-needed awareness, especially in rural areas where such topics are often stigmatised or ignored. Speaking to IANS, the 'Anupamaa' actress cited PM Modi's landmark speech from the Red Fort, where he addressed the issue of menstrual health. Highlighting the implementation of affordable sanitary pad distribution and hygiene education, Rupali noted that these measures have had a significant impact on young girls who often drop out of school due to lack of awareness or access to proper menstrual care. She pointed out that while women in urban areas may take sanitary pads for granted, the situation is vastly different in remote parts of India where such essentials are still considered a luxury. The 'Sarabhai vs Sarabhai' actress shared, 'I feel very proud, because sanitary hygiene, for me as a woman, is not a taboo topic. Modi ji is probably the first leader—world leader—who talked about menstrual hygiene from the Red Fort. And sanitary pads—affordable sanitary pads—reaching every woman, that was a matter of great pride for me. As a woman, I felt proud. There are so many girls who drop out of school because they don't have knowledge about menstrual hygiene. So many girls drop out—some are ashamed, some don't know how to use cloth properly." 'So, giving them sanitary pads it may sound like a small thing, but it is a big thing. We women living in cities take these things for granted. You go and buy a sanitary pad, that's it. But for a rural woman, for a child growing up in the interiors of rural India, having access to sanitary pads is a very, very big deal. Teaching menstrual hygiene in schools is a very big deal. And providing toilets for proper hygiene in schools is a very big deal." Talking about a range of welfare programs, Rupali Ganguly underlined the comprehensive approach the government has taken to empower women from childhood through adulthood. The actress praised the Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana, a savings scheme aimed at securing the future of the girl child, calling it a vital step toward long-term financial empowerment. She also lauded the Ujjwala Yojana, which has provided LPG connections to millions of women across rural India. 'It wasn't just about giving them a gas cylinder—it was about giving them a chance at better health," Ganguly noted, highlighting how the scheme helped women suffering from asthma and other health issues caused by traditional cooking methods. Rupali also appreciated the government's support for women-led start-ups, citing initiatives like Smart Didi Yojana and Drone Didi Yojana as groundbreaking steps. She also emphasised the continued relevance of the Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao campaign, which has helped reshape conversations around girls' education and safety. Turning to sanitation, she underscored the importance of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, one of the Modi government's most widely recognised initiatives. She pointed out that the construction of lakhs of toilets not only improved hygiene but also restored dignity to women who previously lacked access to basic sanitation. Rupali Ganguly also spoke about the long-awaited Women's Reservation Bill, calling it a historic milestone in Indian politics and a significant win for women who have fought for representation in Parliament for decades.
