Shares of Reliance Infrastructure will be in focus on Wednesday after its subsidiary, Reliance Defence, and Germany's Diehl Defence announced an expansion of their strategic partnership to supply precision-guided munitions to the Indian Armed Forces.The two companies signed a strategic cooperation agreement on 10 June to locally produce the Vulcano 155mm precision-guided munition system—an advanced artillery shell designed for high-accuracy, long-range strikes.The agreement marks a significant step in India's push to reduce reliance on defence imports and strengthen its domestic manufacturing capabilities. The Vulcano 155mm uses laser and GPS guidance to deliver pinpoint accuracy, making it a valuable asset for modern warfare.Under the agreement, Reliance Defence will act as the prime contractor, while Diehl Defence will provide core technology and system-level expertise. Manufacturing will take place at a new greenfield facility in the Watad Industrial Area in Ratnagiri, Maharashtra, as part of the Dhirubhai Ambani Defence City (DADC).Reliance Defence estimates that the partnership could generate up to Rs 10,000 crore in revenue, driven by growing demand for advanced ammunition and the localisation of critical defence technologies. The company plans to achieve over 50% indigenous value addition, in line with the government's defence indigenisation targets.This also supports India's broader goal of reaching Rs 50,000 crore in defence exports by 2029.Diehl Defence, based in Überlingen, Germany, is a global player in advanced defence systems, including guided missiles, air defence, and ammunition. One lakh more houses to be included in tax net: GIS survey
Kanpur: Around one lakh houses have been identified to be included in the house tax net in the GIS survey conducted by the Kanpur Municipal Corporation, the additional municipal commissioner Jagdish Yadav informed Mayor Pramila Pandey in a meeting of the revenue department held here on Friday. Following the mayor's directives, municipal commissioner Sudhir Kumar directed the officers regarding notices sent to houses and the corresponding recovery figures. Another meeting will be organised to review the number of major defaulters served notices, and comparative recovery details. Also under consideration will be the number of houses out of the one lakh covered in the GIS survey that have received notices, the recovery figures and other related issue. Authorities have stated that penal action will be initiated in case of any laxity. During the meeting, chief tax assessment officer Anirudh Singh stated that in financial year 2024-25, revenue of Rs 10 crore was recovered in June while in current financial year, revenue received so far was Rs 32 crore. The AMC informed that due to non-recovery in Rooma, Chakeri and Panki industrial areas, an annual revenue loss of about Rs 25 crore is expected. Municipal Commissioner Sudhir Kumar mentioned that Uttar Pradesh Industrial Development Authority (UPSIDC) had requested to maintain the old system in industrial areas. The Mayor later convened a meeting with Jalkal officials on revenue realisation.

The installation, planned near Shaheed Chandrashekhar Azad's statue at Company Garden, will operate at a height of 40 ft. Visitors will also have access to a climbing facility near the zipline installation. Under the 'Dekho Prayagraj Trail' initiative, authorities have issued tenders for this tourist attraction. The 100m zipline installation will be complemented by an artificial mountain for trekking enthusiasts. The development aims to enhance the area surrounding Shaheed Azad's statue. The facility will include an information gallery showcasing Prayagraj's historical heritage, complete with digital presentations. A small café will also be established within the park premises. Tender scam: ED conducts fresh searches in 3 states
New Delhi: The Enforcement Directorate has conducted fresh searches in a money laundering case linked to an alleged contractor-bureaucrats nexus in Bihar where purported irregularities were detected in the tenders issued by the state govt. The raids were conducted at nine locations in Patna and Muzaffarpur, Surat (Gujarat) and Panipat (Haryana) on Thursday under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) in the case linked to Patna-based contractor Rishu Shree, the federal probe agency said in a statement. Several "incriminating" evidence and documents were seized during the raids that were carried out against some people and travel agents "connected" to the contractor, it said. The money laundering case stems from an FIR registered by the special vigilance unit (SVU) of Bihar govt against Rishu Shree and others.
