Japan ‘bumping gang' deliberately collides with pedestrians, mostly women, to vent frustrations

A group of Japanese men, known as the 'bumping gang', has brought their harassment tactics to London, deliberately slamming into pedestrians – primarily targeting young women, the elderly, and children, sparking widespread concern online.
Recently, the 'bumping gang' emerged on the streets of London, with several victims coming forward to share their troubling experiences.
On May 8, TikTok influencer Aylamellek, who has 148,000 followers, described how a tall, muscular man, estimated to be around 6 feet 4 inches, charged at her and knocked her to the ground as she was walking.
After the attack, the man fled the scene immediately.

'I got so lucky I didn't hit my head on a concrete slab or a nail; there are many boats along that canal with plenty of boat hooks,' she shared in her video post.

Hongkongers warned to be vigilant when travelling to US amid protests in country

Hong Kong authorities have called on residents to be vigilant and prioritise safety when travelling to the United States amid protests in the country. Los Angeles has been rocked by ongoing immigration-related protests, which escalated after 300 California National Guard troops were deployed on Sunday as part of a larger force mobilised to support federal law enforcement amid escalating clashes between protesters and immigration agents. 'The government reminds Hong Kong residents who are planning to travel to the United States, or are already there, to stay aware of the local situation, increase their vigilance, prioritise their safety, avoid crowded areas, and pay close attention to local announcements regarding the latest developments,' a spokesman said on Monday. Multiple cities including Los Angeles have been rocked by protests leading to 'violent clashes', the government has said. While the Security Bureau's outbound travel alert against the US was not currently in force, its website was updated with the warning, saying protests had 'occurred across multiple cities including Los Angeles' since early June, resulting in 'violent clashes and injuries'. The government also reminded Hong Kong residents in the United States who required help to call the 24-hour hotline operated by the Immigration Department at (852) 1868, or reach out to the department with its mobile app, among other means. The US Immigration and Customs Enforcement began an operation targeting illegal immigrants in Los Angeles, California, the second-largest city in the country last Friday, triggering three consecutive days of demonstrations by local residents, leading to clashes with law enforcement officers.

Man drives into crowd in Germany's Passau, injuring own wife, daughter and 3 others

Police suspect that the man who drove a car into a group of people in the southern German city of Passau on Saturday, injuring five, including his wife and their five-year-old child, was likely to be involved in a child custody dispute. 'In the course of the ongoing criminal investigations, there are indications that a possible custody dispute may have been the trigger for the incident,' police said. The three lived in the Passau area, the police added. The man, a 48-year-old Iraqi national, has been detained and is being questioned. It is unclear whether he has made a statement about the incident. A decision on whether the suspect will remain in custody is expected on Sunday. The Passau Criminal Police Inspectorate, together with the Passau Public Prosecutor's Office, has taken over the investigation. Based on current findings, the allegation is attempted homicide. Retired Hong Kong priest arrested for alleged sexual assault of minor in 1990s

Hong Kong police have arrested a 66-year-old retired priest on suspicion of sexually assaulting a minor on two occasions more than 30 years ago, the Post has learned. A source said on Saturday that a woman, now 44, filed a police report late last month alleging she had been sexually assaulted twice at a church in Sham Shui Po between September 1993 and March 1994. She was 13 years old at the time. The man was accused of sexually assaulting the minor while she was studying inside the church. The source said the assaults were alleged to have taken place at the Hong Kong & Macau Lutheran Living Stone Church. Management had assisted police with their investigation and helped look into whether there were other potential victims, the insider said. Police said officers had arrested a 66-year-old man in Fanling district on Friday on suspicion of unlawful sexual intercourse with a girl under 16 years of age, buggery with a girl under 21 and indecency with a child under 16. The man has been released on bail pending further investigation, and he must report to police later this month.
