BRS MLA KTR Injured During Gym Workout, Advised Bed Rest
BRS MLA K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) has suffered a serious back injury while working out at the gym. He shared the update on social media, informing the public that he has been diagnosed with a slipped disc and has been advised to take bed rest for a few days by his doctors.
KTR mentioned in his tweet that he had picked up the injury during a gym workout session and was now on bed rest for recovery. He expressed hope that he would be back on his feet soon.
Following the announcement, concern grew among BRS party members and supporters. Many leaders and activists expressed their worries and wished KTR a speedy recovery. They recalled that KTR had been actively participating in events, including the Warangal Assembly on Sunday (April 27), just a day before the injury.
Party members and followers are hoping for his quick return to public duties.

BRS MLA from Hyderabad's Jubilee Hills, Maganti Gopinath passes away
HYDERABAD: BRS MLA from Jubilee Hills, Maganti Gopinath, passed away at a corporate hospital on Sunday morning. Gopinath , who suffered a massive heart attack on June 5, was undergoing treatment and breathed his last at 5.45 am. The three-time MLA from Jubilee Hills had been suffering from various health issues over the past year. The 62-year-old Gopinath, who was serving as the president of the Greater Hyderabad BRS wing and MLA of Jubilee Hills Assembly constituency, began his political journey with the Telugu Desam Party in 1983. He served as president of the TDP youth wing, Telugu Yuvatha, from 1985 to 1992 and also held the post of TDP Hyderabad district president. Gopinath worked as director of the then Hyderabad Urban Development Authority (HUDA) for two years, from 1987 to 1989. He was also a member of the Hyderabad District Consumer Forum. As an MLA, Gopinath won for the first time in 2014 on a TDP ticket and later joined the BRS. He went on to contest and win on a BRS ticket again in the 2018 and 2023 Assembly polls. In the 2023 election, he defeated former Indian cricket captain Mohd Azharuddin by a margin of 16,000 votes. He is survived by his wife, Sunitha, son Vatsalyanath, and two daughters, Akshata and Disira. BRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao, working president K T Rama Rao, Union minister G Kishan Reddy, and former ministers T Harish Rao and Talasani Srinivas Yadav were among several leaders who condoled the MLA's death.

Senior journalist MD Muneer passes away in Hyderabad
Hyderabad, May 25 (UNI) Senior journalist MD Muneer passed away at a private hospital in Hyderabad. He was 65. He is survived by his wife and two children. His funeral will be held at his native village, Mandamarri, in Mancherial district on Sunday evening, sources said. Muneer had been unwell for some time and was undergoing treatment at Omega Hospital in Gachibowli. His condition worsened, and he passed away shortly after midnight on Saturday. Before entering journalism, Muneer worked with Singareni Collieries and later took voluntary retirement (VRS). He went on to serve as a journalist for several decades and was known for his deep involvement in social and public issues. He also played a prominent role in the Telangana movement, serving as the convener of the Singareni Joint Action Committee (JAC) during the Sakala Janula Samme. In a statement, BRS Working President K T Rama Rao (KTR) expressed his condolences over the untimely demise of Muneer, describing him as a "people's journalist." He noted that Muneer was a key figure in many movements in Singareni and North Telangana, and termed his passing an irreparable loss. KTR also recalled Muneer's significant contribution to the Telangana movement, especially his leadership during the Sakala Janula Samme, and extended heartfelt condolences to his family. UNI VV BD

No stipend hike & disbursement delay, junior doctors in Telangana threaten stir
Hyderabad: The issue of the untimely disbursement of stipends to junior and resident doctors has cropped up again, with doctors expressing concerns about the delayed implementation of their biennial stipend hike, which was due to take effect in Jan of this year. The last stipend increase occurred in May 2023, when the previous BRS govt issued GO 59, directing a 15% increase in stipends for all house surgeons, PG doctors, and senior residents, effective from Jan 1, 2023. Junior doctors are now demanding another revision and the issuance of a new GO. Noting that the junior doctors are not asking the govt for any additional hike but only the mandated biennial 15% promised to implement, doctors say if the delay goes beyond May, they will resort to a strike after issuing a notice in the first week of June. Forced into debt trap Dr Ayesha Parveen of Kakatiya Medical College (KMC) in Warangal said the delay had forced several students to borrow money to cover their expenses. 'Many students at medical colleges across the state are non-locals, and most of them manage their living, academic and other expenses independently, without putting a burden on their families. 'Many doctors have elderly parents and children who depend on them financially. One of my colleagues' fathers in Hyderabad had a heart attack last month and had to borrow money for medical expenses. Moreover, there is the monthly fixed cost of paying school fees, not to mention other miscellaneous expenses. We need to be paid the same as doctors from NIMS and ESIC,' said Dr Kumar, who is also the general secretary of T-JUDA. Doctors noted that, despite submitting multiple representations to the health department authorities, particularly the director of medical education (DME), since Nov last year, no intervention has yet been forthcoming. 'Even in 2023, the hike was granted only after a long protest. This is why we informed the DME a few months in advance, to ensure the 15% increase would be implemented in time. But still, four months have passed and there has been no response,' said a doctor from Osmania Medical College (OMC).
