Man Utd to get firm response after making first Bryan Mbeumo transfer bid

Manchester United and Brentford are now in talks for the transfer of Bryan Mbeumo, although the Red Devils' opening bid for the frontman is likely to be rejected Manchester United have made an opening offer for Bryan Mbeumo worth £55million, though it is likely to be rejected by Brentford, who value their star forward in excess of £60m. Mbeumo, 25 has emerged as a priority target for the Red Devils after they rubber-stamped a deal for Matheus Cunha earlier this week. There is, however, no agreement with Brentford yet over the versatile forward, who has indicated a preference to join United. ‌ After approaching Brentford for club to club talks, United have tabled a proposal worth £55m including add-ons - but that bid is expected to be rebuked. ‌ As outlined by The Athletic, the initial fee on offer is £45m with a further £10m in add-ons. That package is some way below what Brentford would expect for a player who broke the 20-goal barrier in the Premier League last season. Mirror Football revealed on Wednesday that United were likely to be met with a firm response upon making their first bid for Mbeumo, who is valued at more than £60m by the Bees. United are expected to negotiate with their domestic rivals on a price for the Cameroon star as they press ahead with plans to bolster Ruben Amorim 's attacking options. Despite the fact that Mbeumo is in the final year of his contract, Brentford hold a one year option to extend said deal and, as such, are under no pressure to sell. They value Mbuemo at a similar level to the sum United paid for Cunha and, as Mirror Football revealed, are ready to play hardball over the former Troyes man, with the Bees prepared to hold out as long as it takes in order to get what they feel the player is worth. ‌ While Mbeumo is keen on a move to Old Trafford, United's pursuit of a player who is capable of playing both out wide and through the middle could be complicated by interest in Yoane Wissa from clubs in Saudi Arabia. Brentford are not be willing to lose Mbeumo and Wissa this summer, meaning United may have to act fast in order to prevent missing out on a key target. United are desperate for more firepower after ending the 2024-25 campaign with just 44 league goals to their name; the second lowest in the league outside of the three relegated teams. Liverpool get Florian Wirtz hint as Luis Diaz contract decision made

Liverpool continue their pursuit of Florian Wirtz but the German is set to cost huge sums whilst a decision is also made on the future of Luis Diaz with his contract winding down Liverpool continue to be the most active of the top clubs in this summer's transfer window as they look to build on their champion squad. Off the back of Premier League success they've already signed Jeremie Frimpong. The full-back has come in from Bayer Leverkusen and will fill the void left by Trent Alexander-Arnold. The Reds now want to add his former team-mate Florian Wirtz, but it will take a British record fee to get him to Anfield. ‌ Liverpool and Arne Slot want to add more firepower to their frontline but it would take more than £120million to land Wirtz. Other attackers have also been linked as the Reds look to make up for their quiet period 12 months ago. ‌ More defensive additions are also expected and Slot admitted at the end of the season that the club would look to improve their squad where the opportunities arose and they continue to attack the market. Here's the latest news from Anfield. Diaz stance clear Liverpool have no intention of selling Luis Diaz this summer. The 28-year-old has just two years left on his current contract and he has been linked with moves away from Anfield. Saudi Pro League sides Al-Nassr and Al-Hilal have both been linked with him as well as Spanish giants Barcelona. But Liverpool maintain they have had no contact about his availability. However there are also no plans to open contract talks yet with Diaz, which may be fuelling the exit talk. He remains an important figure for Arne Slot and scored 17 goals last season in all competitions, but new additions to the frontline could see the landscape change for several players. Wirtz saga 'not bothering' player Julian Nagelsmann insists that Wirtz was fine to play for Germany in their Nations League clash with Portugal despite ongoing talk over his future. ‌ He insists negotiations over a blockbuster switch to Liverpool aren't distracting the playmaker. The Reds have so far seen two bids rejected by the Bundesliga outfit, who value Wirtz at a staggering £126m. Nagelsmann said: "Flo will play [against Portugal]. I don't sense any fear of injury or anything with him. He's a competitor who wants to play and be successful with us. I didn't notice that the situation was bothering him. I think it's perfectly normal for every player, coach, whatever, to have one or two thoughts when a transfer is imminent. I think that's part of it." ‌ Reds confident on Kerkez Liverpool are increasingly confident of signing Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez, according to Sky Sports. The 21-year-old will be allowed to leave for £40m and personal terms aren't expected to be an issue. Manchester City were also keen on the Hungary international but have shifted their focus to Wolves defender Rayan Ait-Nouri, which has freed the Reds to go after the Cherries star. Bournemouth have already lost one defender this summer after Dean Huijsen joined Real Madrid for £50m but are poised to lose another of their key men following a stellar season.

Arsenal's Viktor Gyokeres or Benjamin Sesko decision close as exits confirmed

Arsenal are yet to decide whether to move for Sporting goal machine Viktor Gyokeres or RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko, but sporting director Andrea Berta is a busy man Arsenal are in the middle of a crucial period of the summer transfer window, with crunch time approaching in the race to sign top-class players. The Gunners know they need to bolster their squad if they are to win silverware next season and are determined to make the most of the current window. Mikel Arteta has guided his side to three successive second-place finishes in the Premier League, while Arsenal were knocked out of the Champions League in the semi-finals by eventual winners Paris Saint-Germain. New sporting director Andrea Berta is in place and is the man tasked with recruiting players capable of taking Arsenal to the next level. ‌ The transfer window has opened early this summer, due to the Club World Cup, and the club have wasted no time in getting down to business. A world-class striker is the No.1 priority on Berta's list and the former Atletico Madrid man is working on it. ‌ Meanwhile, he knows that exits are also needed to help accommodate the new signings, who will include Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi, who should be the first arrival of the summer for £51million. Here are the latest headlines from Mirror Football. Arsenal release 17 players Arsenal have confirmed the players who will leave the club on June 30 after not being offered new contracts. Among the list of youngsters from the academy are Jorginho, Kieran Tierney and Raheem Sterling. Jorginho is expected to move to Flamengo as a free agent once his deal expires. His departure will be covered for by the arrival of Zubimendi, who is a similar kind of player. Tierney has been linked with a return to Celtic and has already bid farewell to the club's fans with a statement. 'I feel so lucky that I've played for this club and the love that the supporters have given me has been amazing,' he said. 'I've loved every day here and I've learned so much, I've improved so much and I just feel very lucky.' Sterling, meanwhile, will return to Chelsea after his loan spell came to an end. The veteran forward failed to make an impact at Arsenal and will face an uncertain future this summer. ‌ Sesko vs Gyokeres decision Andrea Berta is still exploring the financial frameworks that would be required to sign Viktor Gyokeres or Benjamin Sesko this summer. The Arsenal sporting director is the man in charge of leading the chase for a striker, but he is taking his time. Mirror Football understands that Gyokeres would be willing to join the Gunners, and Sporting would be willing to sell, if they stump up £60m as a transfer fee and well in excess of £200,000-a-week to make him one of the club's top earners. Arsenal have been tracking Sesko for longer and the RB Leipzig star is reported to have 'near universal backing' at the club due to his stronger data. ‌ Partey talks continuing Arsenal have confirmed that they remain in talks with Thomas Partey over a new contract. Partey's current deal will expire on June 30, but the club want to keep him in north London. Speaking recently, Arteta made it clear that Berta is the man tasked with keeping the midfielder, saying: "The intention is very clear. I'll leave that to Andrea and the club to take a step forward." The 31-year-old has attracted interest from Spain, where he previously played for Atletico Madrid before a £45m move to Arsenal. Barcelona have reportedly held talks over signing the Ghana international on a free transfer, but it seems likely he will stay put.
