Husband of Caitlin Tracey, woman found dead in South Loop stairwell last year, taken into custody on Michigan warrant
Months after his estranged wife was found dead in the stairwell of a South Loop highrise, a Chicago man is expected to appear in Cook County court Monday after he was arrested on an outstanding warrant issued by police in Michigan.
An extradition hearing for Adam Beckerink, husband of Caitlin Tracey, is scheduled for Monday, according to a representative for Tracey's family. Beckerink faces two pending charges of domestic violence against Tracey in Michigan.
Beckerink is not charged in Tracey's October 2024 death.
Last year, Tracey's parents successfully won custody of her remains after arguing in court that Beckerink, who was married to their daughter for six months, had a history of abusing her.
He had filed a motion last year to temporarily prevent Tracey's parents from proceeding with her funeral. He argued in an affidavit he would be 'irreparably harmed and deprived of the ability to direct the disposition of his wife's remains for which he is entitled to and has priority under both Illinois and Michigan law.'

Court documents filed last year state that "based on the condition of the remains, Decedent's body fell approximately 24 floors before landing at the bottom of a stairwell." Her "body was pulverized and her foot was severed from her body," attorneys for the family wrote. Tracey's husband, Adam Beckerink, 46, was arrested in March on a fugitive charge stemming from a warrant in Michigan, where the well-known tax attorney was wanted on charges of domestic violence, resisting and obstructing and larceny, according to Fox 32. 'We have no words' Family of alleged murder victim give emotional interview
The family of a mum-of-two found dead after police were called to a village home say they are living in "one big nightmare". Tracey Davies, 48, was found dead by police at a property in Cefn Cribwr, Bridgend, last month. Her husband has since been charged with murder. Tracey's heartbroken family say they are "struggling to come to terms with what has happened" as they paid an emotional tribute to the "amazing" person Tracey Davies, formerly Young, was. She leaves behind two children – 29-year-old Danielle Young and 19-year-old Callum Young. Her sister, Julie Reeve, 44, said she "absolutely adored" them. "Her children were her life," she added. Tracey's cousin Anne-Marie Griffiths, 38, said Tracey was an "amazing and supportive person" who "everybody adored". "We are all devastated and we have no words to describe how we feel about what's happened," she added. "She was so supportive of us all – she was our biggest cheerleader," Anne-Marie said. "I remember getting married and walking down the aisle – the person I could hear was Tracey. She was just so loud and comforting. You knew she was there, you knew she was supporting you, and it made you feel safe." Tracey, who grew up in Cornelly, near Porthcawl, worked with vulnerable people in the social care sector for most of her life – something that epitomised her caring nature, her family say. Since her death they have been contacted by Tracey's former clients who are also devastated by the news. "She had such an impact. Every person who had the pleasure of meeting her was impacted by her in some way, shape or form. She left her mark," Anne-Marie said. Outside of work Anne-Marie and Julie say that Tracey was the "life and soul of the party". "There was never a dull moment when my sister was around," Julie said. "She lived life to the full – there was no stopping her." Anne-Marie added: "She was very outgoing and a very good social character. She loved her beauty appointments too – she was all for glam." Laughing, Julie also said that her older sister would always "nag her" but always with care in he heart. "She would nag me because I'm not the one for really going out and socialising. It was my birthday in December but I didn't have any plans and wasn't interested in going out. Tracey was on my case and we all went out together and I'm so glad she did because we had such an amazing night." The pair were planning on going to see UB40 in Cardiff next month. Anne-Marie saod Tracey's love for her sister and desire to ensure she was enjoying herself was the topic of their last conversation. She said: "She was just so caring. Our last conversation was her saying that we need to get Julie out because she's so busy in work." The family have set up a GoFundMe in memory of Tracey to help support her children through this horrific time. "They're both so young to be dealing with all of this. We just want to take some pressure off for them at the minute because they're still trying to deal with everything and are worried about the funeral," Anne-Marie explained. "They've lost their whole world so we just want to do what we can to help support them financially, as well as emotionally, which is why the fundraiser has been set up. In the three days since the fundraiser has started more than £7,000 has been raised and they have been inundated with messages of support and kind words about Tracey. They said that while there's little that can bring comfort at this tragic time they are grateful for the messages and say they have been "overwhelmed" by the response. "It just makes us feel so proud of Tracey," Anne-Marie said. "It's heartbreaking. We still we haven't even got over the shock let alone anything else but to have just that little bit of comfort means the world really – knowing that people are thinking of her children and her family." Julie added: "You realise in this situation like how much my sister was actually cared and loved for and how much of a massive impact she had on everyone she met." The family said that they are taking things day by day and putting their focus into supporting Danielle and Callum. Anne-Marie said: "It still feels like it's somebody else's life – it's just one big living nightmare. You have moments of thinking: 'Has this really happened?' It's not sinking in at all. It's the worst experience any of us have had to go through but we're fixated on getting as much money as possible for Danielle and Callum and taking things one step at a time." Police were called just after 9.15pm on Friday, April 18 to a report of a concern for the welfare of two people in a property in Bryn Terrace, Cefn Cribwr, near Bridgend. Upon arrival they discovered Ms Davies' body. Michael Davies, 56, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of her murder. Davies, of Bryn Terrace, appeared in Cardiff Crown Court on Tuesday, April 29 charged with murder. He is due in court again this month. Driver's 'sick' roadside act leaves Aussie suburb rocked: 'Deliberate'
Authorities are investigating after a jogger witnessed a horrific "deliberate" act that killed 14 native birds and rocked a local community. A 4WD driver allegedly mounted the nature strip beside a busy road in Perth's north to mow down the flock of corellas that were feeding on the side of the road. RSPCA WA told Yahoo there is an "open investigation" into the alleged incident which happened in North Beach, a coastal suburb in Perth on Sunday morning. Perth resident Tracey Smith, who reported the incident, said she stumbled across the devastating scene on her way to grab a coffee. Tracey was forced to console the distressed woman who watched the killing unfold in front of her while running. Speaking to radio station 6PR, she described the incident as "deliberate". "A 4WD went past [the runner] and up onto the verge," she explained, adding that it "ploughed through a group of birds that were eating on the side of the road on the verge," she said describing the act as "deliberate". Of the 14 birds on the side of the road, 11 were killed at the scene and three had to be euthanised at the emergency vet surgery. Tyre marks from the vehicle can be seen in images of the distressing scene. Tracey said the tracks "went for a long way" because the birds were spread out along the road. "Anyone with information is asked to contact RSPCA WA on 1300 278 358 or and quote job number 207138," an RSPCA spokesperson told Yahoo. Tracey said the runner was so "distraught" after witnessing the incident, she hugged her to console her. Unfortunately the woman wasn't able to get a number plate, so Tracey posted about the incident on social media in the hope of finding information, with people reacting in shock. "Sickening and so sad to see this," responded one local resident. "I hope whoever did this is found and brought to justice." "This is disgusting," said another. "I hope they get caught.
