Father's Day 2025 is just around the corner, falling on Sunday, June 15. In India, the day is marked by heartfelt gestures – be it handwritten notes, thoughtful gifts, or family outings – as people honour the love, sacrifices, and guidance of fathers and father figures.
Special lunches at restaurants or at home are also common. Children use meaningful gestures and personalised gifts to show their gratitude. Honoring fathers and strengthening family bonds are the main goals of the day.
So, here are some of the tips to help you choose the perfect gift for your father. The greatest gifts are those that express your gratitude and are frequently items he would not normally buy for himself. Therefore, ditch the boring ideas and get a few meaningful friendly budget gifts ideas for your father on this special day celebrations.
Father's Day 2025: 7 Best friendly budget gifts ideas for your fathers
• A customised wood sign
Let your children use craft letters and scrapbook paper to create a wooden plaque that has been stained or painted. Your fathers will enjoy showing it off in his office or home table.
• A personalised mug
Create a vinyl decal with a personalised message for your father and your child's handwriting. Select a "World's Best Dad" mug and personalise it with a unique touch.
• Customisation portrait
Make a vibrant, personalised photo that showcases your special perspective on your father to honor him. All you need is card stock in vibrant colors, printable templates for facial features, and dad-themed accessories like bow ties and glasses.
• Multi-tool Pen/Kit
Around the house, our fathers mostly enjoy playing Bob, the Builder. Fixing things that might or might not need to be fixed is their favorite pastime, whether it is piercing a wall or fixing a leaking tap. A multi-tool pen or multi-tool kit is a wonderful way to thank the handyman dads for their efforts to keep the house functional.
• Coffee/Tea Kit
Dads usually rely on their tea or coffee to get through the day. Give them a coffee/tea kit with a range of flavors to sample to add a unique twist to their custom especially for their office table.
• Sneakers/Boots
How recently did your dad treat himself to some nice shoes? Make it happen by providing him with a pair of durable boots or sneakers that complement his daily aesthetics.
• A smart home device
Even when everything's working great, dads often find a way to keep themselves busy. Give them devices like Google Nest Hub, Alexa, Vacuum Mob, and others for this Fathers' Day to keep them busy while making their jobs easier.

Box Office: How To Train Your Dragon's live-action movie takes a FANTASTIC Rs 90 crore start from Thursday previews in the domestic market

How To Train Your Dragon, directed by Dean DeBlois and starring Mason Thames in the lead, is a live-action adaptation of the animated movie How To Train Your Dragon (2010), which emerged a runaway hit at the time of its release. It was followed up by very well performing sequels and now it is the turn of the live-action version to blow all lids off. How To Train Your Dragon has hit the theatres now, across the world. The Thursday night premieres in the domestic market are terrific with early estimates of USD 10-10.50 million (Rs 86-91cr). The movie is well poised for a phenomenal Father's Day weekend in the vicinity of USD 90 million (Rs 774 crore), domestically. The movie's advance bookings in other traditional international markets are excellent too. If the momentum continues, a USD 200 million (Rs 1720 crore) global weekend will very easily happen. Going purely on the basis that the movie has cost USD 150 million to make and USD 75 million to market, it needs to gross around USD 375-400 million to breakeven theatrically. Reaching this number, at the moment, looks like a foregone conclusion. There will be absolutely no surprise if the movie reaches very close to this number in its home market itself. There was a slight worry that the live-action adaptation would not bode well with the fans of the franchise; but that has not happened. The fans are loving it and it is very likely that the movie will get an A or A+ Cinemascore, indicating universal acclaim. A bunch of social handles, and also critics, have been very vocal about not wanting live-action adaptations. But the theatre going audiences are enjoying them, every bit. Just a month back, Lilo And Stitch took the box office to cleaners and is gearing up to hit USD 1 billion in the next couple of weeks or so. The audience verdict is clear and it is that they wouldn't mind live-action flicks of relatively newer made IPs. It might be difficult for a Snow White to get the audiences. But a Brave or a Shrek? Not so much. Stay tuned to Pinkvilla for more updates on the box office collections of How To Train Your Dragon.

Shemaroo Entertainment's new ad speaks a father's unspoken love

HighlightsShemaroo Entertainment honors fathers through the #UnderHisUmbrella campaign, emphasising their quiet resilience and selfless love, depicted in a moving film where a father steps out from under an umbrella to protect his family from the rain. Arghya Chakravarty, chief operating officer of Shemaroo Entertainment, highlights that the campaign celebrates fathers who often remain in the background, showcasing their strength and love through small acts of care. Anuja Trivedi, chief marketing officer of Shemaroo Entertainment, explains that the campaign aims to emotionally connect with audiences by recognizing the understated yet profound role fathers play in households, using the umbrella as a powerful metaphor for security and warmth. Some heroes don't wear capes. They simply raise their hands to shield us from life's storms — quietly, lovingly and without ever asking for anything in return. This Father's Day, Shemaroo Entertainment turns the spotlight on these everyday heroes through its new campaign film, #UnderHisUmbrella, a moving celebration of a father's quiet resilience and selfless love. The campaign paints a simple yet deeply stirring picture. The film, set on a rainy day, captures a subtle yet powerful moment: a father steps out from under the umbrella, choosing to get drenched so that his wife and daughter can stay dry. A small, selfless act that speaks volumes. It becomes a perfect metaphor for fatherhood, where love is not shown through grand gestures, but through silent sacrifices. Because that's what fathers do. Speaking about the campaign, Arghya Chakravarty, chief operating officer, Shemaroo Entertainment, said, 'With #UnderHisUmbrella campaign, we continue that legacy, celebrating the fathers who often remain in the background yet form the backbone of the family. Their strength lies in their silence and their love in small acts of care. This campaign is a tribute to that unspoken emotional bedrock.' Unlike many celebratory campaigns that center around overt gratitude, this one gently urges viewers to feel, remember, and recognise. It's designed to stir a memory— when he protected you, drove silently through the night, or was simply there with a quiet presence that always meant safety, the company stated in a press release. Anuja Trivedi, chief marketing officer, Shemaroo Entertainment, further added, 'From a strategic perspective, this initiative allows us to connect deeply with our audience on an emotional level. We recogniae the profound yet often understated role that fathers play in every household. The #UnderHisUmbrella campaign is our way of celebrating that universal truth. The visual metaphor of an umbrella represents security, warmth, and selflessness. By bringing this to life in a relatable context, we hope to spark recognition and appreciation for the unsaid ways fathers protect and nurture.' This Father's Day, by transforming everyday moments into powerful metaphors, Shemaroo Entertainment strengthens its emotional bond with audiences and continues its legacy of stories that heal, connect and endure. Shemaroo Entertainment's campaign conveys that when a father smiles, it's not just a moment of personal joy, it's a reflection of harmony, strength and hope in every household. It's in that smile that Shemaroo Entertainment's brand philosophy, India Khush Hua , truly finds its meaning, the company added. Watch the video here:
