Did Pakistan hit Adampur, Bhuj air bases during Operation Sindoor? Satellite images show otherwise
In the wake of Operation Sindoor, Pakistan has been projecting a narrative of wins against India, with new reports adding that Islamabad hit the Adampur air base in Punjab and damaged a Sukhoi-30 MKI parked there.
Top Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) imagery analyst Damien Symon has debunked the claim, pointing out that Pakistan used a pre-conflict photograph to push its narrative.
Symon posted the image used by Pakistan to claim a hit on Adampur air base in a post on the social media platform X. The image used to support the claim purportedly shows a jet near what Pakistan claims to be a burn mark. But according to Symon, it was taken in March of this year, much before India's Operation Sindoor.
'New report alleges a direct hit at India's Adampur Air Base by Pakistan damaged a Su-30, however a review reveals this image taken in March 2025, pre-conflict actually shows a MiG-29 undergoing maintenance, the dark soot near the engine test pad is routine, not battle damage,' the post read.
Pakistan not only falsely claimed to hit the Adampur air base, but it also made a similar claim for the Bhuj air base in Gujarat. There, Islamabad claims to have destroyed an S-400 radar.
Damien Symon debunked that claim, too, pointing out that what Islamabad claims to be marks of destruction are actually likely to be just oil stains in the air base's service yard. This image also predates Operation Sindoor and the India-Pakistan conflict.

India launched Operation Sindoor on May 7, targeting terror infrastructure at nine locations in PoK and Pakistan's Punjab province. The operation was in retaliation for the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 people, mostly tourists, in Jammu and Kashmir's resort town.
The operation prompted a confrontation with Pakistan for the next four days, with India hitting multiple military targets while defending its own. The conflict subsided after a ceasefire understanding was reached between the neighbours on May 10.

Imposition of President's Rule has made no difference to Manipur, Congress general secretary (communication) Jairam Ramesh said on Sunday, amid fresh violence in the State over the past 24 hours. As violent protests erupted in Manipur over the arrest of a leader of Meitei outfit Arambai Tenggol, the situation remained tense on Sunday with the administration imposing prohibitory orders and suspending Internet services in five Imphal valley districts, the police said. Hitting out at the government, Mr. Ramesh claimed that in February 2022, the BJP 'engineered a majority for itself alone' in the Assembly election. 'But less than fifteen months later from the night of May 3, 2023, Manipur was made to burn. Hundreds of innocent men, women, and children were killed. Thousands were displaced. Places of worship were destroyed,' he said. The Congress leader said the Union government set up a three-member Commission of Inquiry on June 4, 2023. The commission has been given repeated extensions to submit its report and the latest deadline is November 20, 2025, he noted. On August 1, 2023, Mr. Ramesh said, the Supreme Court observed that there had been an 'absolute breakdown of constitutional machinery' in the State for the past two months. 'The Union Home Minister went through the motions of visiting Manipur while the Prime Minister maintained absolute silence, refusing to say anything and meet anybody from the State,' he said. It was the Congress's announcement to bring no-confidence motion against Chief Minister N. Biren Singh in the Assembly session beginning February 10, 2025 that jolted the Centre to impose President's Rule, Mr. Ramesh claimed. Mr. Singh resigned on February 9 and President's Rule was finally imposed on February 13, 2025. 'President's Rule, however, has made no difference. The Governor himself has been forced to travel from Imphal airport to his residence by helicopter. Law and order in many parts of the State remains in a state of peril,' Mr. Ramesh added. The Congress leader again questioned Mr. Modi's absence. Mr. Ramesh asked, 'When will the Prime Minister find the time and inclination to visit Manipur?' He further said that Mr. Modi has travelled to different parts of the world and visited numerous States for 'trademark inaugurations' but he has never met with political leaders or civil society organisations from Manipur, having outsourced the management of the State's affairs to the Union Home Minister who, Mr. Ramesh claimed, had 'failed miserably.' 'The insensitivity of the Frequent Flyer PM to the suffering of the people of Manipur is truly shocking and defies understanding. He stands totally exposed just as the people of the State continue to pay the price of his callous and complete indifference. Their suffering is that of not only the State and the northeastern region but of the entire country,' Mr. Ramesh said in his post.
