Ex-Penn State football star Julian Fleming's girlfriend killed in horror ATV crash that left him badly hurt
A Penn State and Ohio State wide receiver was seriously injured and his girlfriend was killed a horrifying ATV crash in rural Pennsylvania, authorities said.
Julian Fleming, 24, was driving the Yamaha quad with Alyssa Boyd, 23, down a rural road in Pennsylvania's Bradford County along the New York state line when they struck a deer that darted in front of them, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

Boyd — who attended the University of Alabama, according to her social media — suffered 'extensive injuries' in the crash and died at the scene, according to cops.

Fleming, who also lives in Pennsylvania, sustained serious injuries and was taken to Guthrie Troy Community Hospital.
Neither rider was wearing a helmet, according to state police.
Local media outlets, including PennLive identified the victim as former college football star who played for the Penn State Nittany Lions.
Social media posts show Fleming and Boyd together, and 247sports.com reports that the pair were dating.
Cops recovered the body of the deer that they believe caused the ATV crash.

Family members declined to comment on Boyd's death when reached by the Post on Sunday.

Fleming was a standout high school star at Southern Columbia High in Catawissa, Pennsylvania, where he was ranked the top wide receiver recruit in the nation after being named the 2019 Pennsylvania player of the year by both Gatorade and PennLive.
In 2019, Fleming, a five-star recruit, committed to play college football at Ohio State. He played in 38 games for the Buckeyes, totaling 80 receptions for 990 yards and seven touchdowns.
After graduating in December 2023, Fleming transferred to Penn State, where he appeared in 16 games for the Nittany Lions but was hampered by injury in the second half of the season.

He signed with the Green Bay Packers as an undrafted free agent after the 2025 NFL Draft, but the team rescinded the contract after Fleming failed his physical three weeks before the deadly crash.

ESPN added logo to court after complaints about auraless NBA Finals broadcast
For the past few years, the NBA Finals broadcasts have turned almost indistinguishable from any other nationally televised game in the regular season. And that blame falls entirely on ESPN and the league itself. But hey, at least ESPN saw the complaints and attempted to do something about it for Game 2 — albeit as a cheap half measure. Advertisement One of the major critiques from fans has been how NBA Finals games no longer look like a major championship event just from an aesthetic standpoint. There used to be a massive Larry O'Brien Trophy at midcourt. That's all been scrapped in favor of superimposed ads for YouTube TV and Emirates. On Sunday, though, ESPN did bring back the Larry O'Brien Trophy with a digitally added image on the court. It looked, uh, not great. It was something, but the low-resolution trophy didn't exactly scream MAJOR EVENT either. Eventually, the trophy image was scrapped in favor of the cursive Finals logo (presented by YouTube TV, of course). These games used to have player introductions and national anthems included in the broadcast — along with the NBA Finals logo actually on the court. This was still a huge step back even if ESPN tried to address the visual issue on the fly.
