Junior Hockey Championship to kick off in Riyadh with eight teams
RIYADH: The 2025 Central Region Boys' Junior Hockey Championship will take place on Tuesday and Wednesday at the indoor sports hall of Al-Manarat International Schools in Riyadh.

Organized by the Saudi Hockey Federation, the tournament will feature eight teams representing Al-Tarbiyah, Al-Namouthajiyah and Al-Arqam schools, competing for the championship title.
The event is part of a series of school tournaments initiated by the Saudi Hockey Federation to promote the sport at the grassroots level.
The federation emphasized that a key objective of the championship was to identify and nurture young talent while enhancing players' skills.
The initiative aims to develop a new generation of athletes who could represent Saudi Arabia in international competitions in the future, and the tournament aligns with the country's broader efforts to advance sports development and encourage youth participation in various disciplines.

Bangkok set to host Asian Boxing U19 & U22 Boxing Championships
DUBAI: Asian Boxing, the first continental confederation established under World Boxing, has said the Asian Boxing U19 & U22 Boxing Championships will take place from July 30 to Aug. 12 at the Indoor Stadium Huamark in Bangkok, Thailand. For the latest updates, follow us @ArabNewsSport The continental event, organized in collaboration with World Boxing and the Thailand Boxing Association, will feature both male and female athletes in two age divisions: U-19 (born in 2007 or 2008) and U-22 (born between 2004 and 2006). The championship is looking to build on the success of Asian Boxing's inaugural continental event held in Amman, Jordan — the Asian Boxing U15 & U17 Championships in April 2025 — which featured more than 400 boxers from 18 countries. Both age group competitions will include the following weight categories: Men: 47–50 kg, 55 kg, 60 kg, 65 kg, 70 kg, 75 kg, 80 kg, 85 kg, 90 kg and +90 kg. Women: 45–48 kg, 51 kg, 54 kg, 57 kg, 60 kg, 65 kg, 70 kg, 75 kg, 80 kg and +80 kg.

Inzaghi named Saudi Arabia's Al-Hilal coach after Inter Milan exit
Simone Inzaghi was appointed head coach of Saudi Arabia's Al-Hilal, a day after leaving Inter Milan and less than two weeks before the club's opening match at the FIFA Club World Cup. The 49-year-old Italian signed a two-year contract reportedly worth more than 20 million euros ($23 million) per season. 'The Italian genius is here,' Al-Hilal said in a post on social media.
