Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton faced the cruelest twist of fate during the most important game of his career. Just seven minutes into Game 7 of the NBA Finals, Haliburton, who had started hot with three early three-pointers, collapsed to the floor in pain.
Diagnosed with a torn Achilles, the injury forced him out of the game, leaving the Pacers without their leader in a 103–91 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder. On Monday, he addressed fans with a vulnerable, emotional message from his hospital bed.
Tyrese Haliburton undergoes surgery and speaks from the heart in a heartfelt message
Following surgery in New York City, Tyrese Haliburton took to social media Monday night, just one day after the injury, to express gratitude and share his mindset.
'Man. Don't know how to explain it other than shock.
Words cannot express the pain of this letdown. The frustration is unfathomable. I've worked my whole life to get to this moment and this is how it ends? Makes no sense,' Haliburton shared.
He continued, 'Now that I've gotten surgery, I wish I could count the number of times people will tell me I'm going to 'come back stronger'. What a cliche lol, this shit sucks. My foot feels like dead weight fam. But what's hurting most I think is my mind.

Feel like I'm rambling, but I know this is something I'll look back on when I'm through this, as something I'm proud I fought through. It feels good to let this shit out without y'all seeing the kid ugly cry.
'
Haliburton added that he has no regrets and would "do it again" for his team and city. Despite the torn Achilles, he believes the experience will shape him into a better man and player. 'At 25, I've already learned that God never gives us more than we can handle.
I know I'll come out on the other side of this a better man and a better player. And honestly, right now, torn Achilles and all, I don't regret it. I'd do it again, and again after that, to fight for this city and my brothers.
For the chance to do something special.'
The Pacers guard also issued an emotional apology to Indiana fans, promising to fight like hell to return stronger and finish what they started. Quoting Kobe Bryant, he vowed to stop feeling sorry for himself and get to work with the same drive and conviction.
'Indy, I'm sorry,' he apologized. 'If any fan base doesn't deserve this, it's y'all. But together we are going to fight like hell to get back to this very spot, and get over this hurdle. I don't doubt for a second that y'all have my back, and I hope you guys know that I have yours. I think Kobe said it best when in this same situation. 'There are far greater issues/challenges in the world then a torn achilles. Stop feeling sorry for yourself, find the silver lining and get to work with the same belief, same drive and same conviction as ever.
' And that's exactly right. I will do everything in my power to get back right.'
Further, with confidence and humility, Haliburton promised to dust himself off and return as the best version of himself. 'My journey to get to where I am today wasn't by happenstance, I've pushed myself every day to be great. And I will continue to do just that,' he shared.
'The most important part of this all, is that I'm grateful. I'm grateful for every single experience that's led me here.
I'm grateful for all the love from the hoop world. I don't 'have to' go through this, I get to go through this. I'm grateful for the road that lies ahead. Watch how I come back from this. So, give me some time, I'll dust myself off and get right back to being the best version of Tyrese Haliburton.'
Later, he added his jersey number, with apparently a minus sign, and then finished his lengthy message for fans with a quote from the Bible.
'Proverbs 3:5-6 'Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.''

India vs England Test: 'Biggest applause since Tendulkar': Stuart Broad makes massive Rishabh Pant comparison after explosive ton
Rishabh Pant celebrating his century vs England on Day 4 India's star wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant continued his red-hot form with another explosive century on Day 4 of the first Test against England at Headingley Cricket Ground in Leeds on Monday. Pant's 118 off 140 balls powered India to a commanding 364, extending their stronghold in what has been a riveting contest so far. Pant, who also struck 134 in the first innings, became the first Indian wicketkeeper to score centuries in both innings of a Test match — a feat previously achieved only by Zimbabwe's Andy Flower (142 & 199* vs South Africa in 2001). With this, Pant underlined once again why he's considered box office in whites. Never a dull moment with the 27-year-old at the crease, no matter the conditions. The Headingley crowd, known for its appreciation of quality cricket, gave Pant a send-off worthy of legends. The former England pacer Stuart Broad , when speaking in his podcast 'For The Love Of Cricket', highlighted the crowd's gesture with the biggest of comparisons. " One thing I noticed when he was walking off with both hundreds, the Headingley crowd were all on their feet, really appreciating everything that he'd done and the quality he'd shown. English crowds have always been supportive of opposition players when they do well, but this was probably the biggest sort of clap and hand I'd seen since (Sachin) Tendulkar's last tour here ." by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 유일한 공식 무료 SOC 게임! 설치도 없습니다! 경복의 바다 게임 플레이 Undo IND vs ENG 1st Test: KL Rahul's grit, Rishabh Pant's fire keep India alive Pant's numbers continue to grow in stature. India scored 471 in the first innings, which included Rishabh Pant's 134 off 178 balls, England replied strongly by putting 465 on the board. In the second innings, the Indian side scored 364 runs and set a target of 371 for England. Pant and KL Rahul both scored centuries in the second innings. Moments before his dismissal, Pant was caught on the stump mic, telling Ravindra Jadeja, who was batting at the other end, that the bowler was repeatedly hitting him at the same spot. 'Suja diya yaar maar maar ke, ek hi jagah maare ja raha hai (roughly translating to 'He's swollen me, just by hitting the same spot again and again),' he said. 2. Talks with himself As he survived a couple of close calls on Day 4 of the match, Pant was caught talking to himself. 'Tez ball hai Rishabh, maarna hai toh seedha lag jaayega naa iss ball pe, kuch alag karne ki zarurat nahi hai (Rishabh, it's a fast ball... you can play with a straight bat; there is no need to do anything different).' 3. 'Tameez se khelne' Pant also rued a few opportunities to get the scoreboard ticking. 'Paki hui waali ball. Itna tameez se khelne ke chakkar mein chuth rahi hai (The ball is there to be hit, but I am being too watchful and missing out),' Pant told KL Rahul who was batting at the non-striker's end. 4. 'No twos' On the second day of the match, a light-hearted exchange between Pant and England's Jamie Smith went viral. During one of Shoaib Bashir's overs, Smith was heard telling the fielders not to allow two runs. Pant heard this and replied with a playful response. 'Yeah, if he gives me a full toss, no twos. He's bowling well,' he said. 5. Ball is ready to swing moment In another popular moment from the first innings, Pant was heard in the stump mic telling Gill, 'Gilly, ball ban gaya hai. 'Dono tabahi macha rahe hai': Shubman Gill's rally cry for Indian team is EVERYTHING! Watch video
Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna (AP) Team India captain Shubman Gill literally let out a war cry to rally the pace duo of Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna on Day 5 of the first Test match at Headingley Cricket Ground on Tuesday. Chasing 371 runs in the fourth innings, England were 117 at the lunch break on the final day. England openers Ben Duckett and Zak Crawley added 96 runs in 24 overs in the first session and, most importantly, didn't lose a wicket while doing so. IND vs ENG 1st Test: KL Rahul's grit, Rishabh Pant's fire keep India alive India bowled well in the first hour, and there were plenty of deliveries that beat the bat of the English openers. During the match, the stump mic picked up an interesting remark from captain Shubman Gill. "Ek taraf se Mohammad hai, ek taraf se Krishna, dono tabahi macha rahe hain" (At one end, we have Mohammed and at the other, Krishna — and both of them are wreaking havoc), Shubman was heard saying on the stump mic after bowler Prasidh Krishna beat Ben Duckett's outside edge. England need 254 more runs with all 10 wickets in hand, and they have 66 overs to try and go 1-0 up in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy. Earlier, the Indian and England cricket teams observed a minute's silence and wore black armbands on Day 5 of the ongoing Test match at Headingley, paying tribute to former Indian cricketer Dilip Doshi, who passed away on Monday. The tribute took place before the start of play, with players from both sides lining up in silence to honour the memory of the left-arm spinner.
