With hot weather set the stay for most of UK – for this week at least – you'll probably be looking at switching your jeans and jumpers for shorts, skirts and T-shirts. And if you're after a speedy way to perk up pasty limbs and don't have time for – or don't like using – a 'proper' fake tan, this is the quick fix you need to try.
This Works Perfect Legs Skin Miracle is a tinted body serum that gives an instant, natural golden glow to the skin without the need to wait for it to develop, wash it off, or use a mitt. It has accumulated hundreds of five star reviews online with shoppers loving how it "doesn't streak" and gives "amazing results".

And after seeing this week's weather forecast, I dug a bottle out of my bathroom cupboard to test it out one sunny afternoon – and it did exactly what I needed it to. The colour it gives isn't as perfectly bronzed as my favourite fake tan mousse – it's instead more sheer – but on the plus side you can apply it with your hands without risking them staining, it's easy to create an even finish (just rub in well), and the colour is instant.
On the minor down side, it does take a couple of minutes to dry (don't go immediately squeezing into any skintight white clothing) and, like make-up, may transfer slightly if you get sweaty or wet. However, for better-looking limbs in a flash, I'll be reaching for this on repeat this week.
Another similar product is Vita Liberata's Body Blur, now down from £33 to £26.40. It's bee a while since I tried this but, from memory, it's slightly thicker than the This Works one, and more of a matte finish instead of a subtly glistening one.
For a long-lasting bronze, however, Isle of Paradise Glow Clear Self Tanning Mousse, £19.95, takes a bit more time and effort but doesn't transfer and lasts for a week.
