One UI 8 brings substantial visual and functional improvements to the Samsung Reminder app

Samsung has also introduced a new integration that lets users create reminders in One UI's native calendar app.
Samsung is giving its Reminder app a significant overhaul in One UI 8. The company has included the updated app in the first One UI 8 beta build for the Galaxy S25 series, and it features a completely redesigned interface and some functionality improvements.
The new Samsung Reminder app in One UI 8 has a revamped homepage with new category cards at the top that organize your reminders and show the number of reminders in each category. Under these categories, the app displays new sample reminder templates that let you set up a new reminder with just a few taps.
If you don't wish to use the sample templates, you can create a custom reminder by typing in the text box at the bottom of the homepage. The app offers suggestions as you type that you can use to create a new reminder quicker than before. The revamped app also makes adding checklists, locations, and pictures to your reminders easier with shortcuts right under the text box.

In addition, Samsung has introduced a new Calendar app integration for reminders in One UI 8. Thanks to this, you can use the Calendar app to create a new reminder, as shown in the screenshot above. Additionally, you can drag and drop existing reminders in the Calendar app to reschedule them. These Samsung Reminder changes should significantly improve the user experience and might even prompt some Galaxy users to pick the native app over third-party alternatives.

(Reuters) -India on Monday announced a scheme that includes significant import tax cuts for foreign automakers that commit to investing in manufacturing electric cars in the country. India to Open Flagship EV Making Policy to Lure Global Giants
India is set to open applications for its flagship policy offering lower import duties to global electric vehicle makers in exchange for manufacturing in India, people familiar with the matter said. The policy, that was announced in March 2024, offers to slash duty to 15% on any imported electric car priced from $35,000 if they invest at least 41.5 billion rupees, or about $500 million, to set up a local plant within three years. Up to 8,000 cars yearly can be imported at this reduced rate.

A few other clues I especially enjoyed: OLD (68A: Like many family heirlooms) HATE READ (39D: Flip through just to get mad) WHEE (59D: "This ride is fun!") CUT AND PASTE (16A: Command combo that moves text) CHILDREN AT PLAY (38A: Words after "Slow" on a street sign in a residential neighborhood) COIN A PHRASE (62A: Come up with an idiom, say) THINKING CAP: Each theme answer has the initials CAP: CUT AND PASTE, CHILDREN AT PLAY, and COIN A PHRASE. It took me a little while to see that each theme answer had the initials CAP, making for a nice "Aha!" moment when I made that discovery. I admit that I'm not sure where the "THINKING" part of the title comes into play with the theme. Is it just that we are THINKING about what CAP may stand for? That may be it.
