The Issue: City Comptroller Brad Lander's arrest outside an immigration court in Manhattan.
Trailing mayoral candidate Brad Lander was arrested at a federal immigration court, just as he planned in his doltish attempt to revive his moribund campaign ('Brad Lander's Sad Stunt,' Editorial, June 18).
Lander must be furious that he was released soon after, cheating him of continuing his circus act in court, and depriving him of further feckless media attention.

Here we go again. Another braindead Democrat, Brad Lander, running against Trump. Last time I looked, Donald Trump was not running for office.
They have no plans to better the lives of New Yorkers. While city residents experience high prices, rent increases, rising health-care costs, etc., Democrats waved in millions of illegal border crossers — who were then put up in hotels, given food vouchers, free heath care, etc.
What the hell are any of you going to do to better the lives of the citizens of this once-great city and state?

Isn't it getting stale? It seems that every other day, headline-grabbing politicians — whether in Newark, NJ, California or New York City — confront ICE staff at their offices.
Having had no vision for how to control borders or sanctuary cities, these politicians pander to their progressive supporters by interfering with ICE routines.
If ICE's mandate needs tweaking, this is surely not the way to get it done.

What does the city comptroller have to with immigration hearings? Zilch, nothing.
Another shameless politician trying to put his name in the news because it's election time. He is following in the foot steps of the Newark mayor who did the same thing.

What Lander did is right out of the Democratic Party playbook: deliberately create an unavoidable confrontation, which the Democrats and the loyalist media then blow up into hysterical propaganda, as they scream 'authoritarianism,' 'fascism,' 'racism,' 'xenophobia' and on and on.

The Issue: The nationwide 'No Kings' protests against the Trump administration on Saturday.
So is President Trump a king (' 'Blame of thrones' rallies,' June 15)?
Is he a dictator? Is it an oligarchy? Is it a threat to democracy? Which is it?
Obviously, these protests, just like the anti-ICE 'protests' in LA, are funded by big-money Democratic donors.
Just as in Trump's first term, when the cry was 'not my president,' when the Dems lose, they whine and turn to resistance. Which is why this country will always be divided.

Where were these demonstrations when former President Barack Obama and other presidents deported millions of illegals? Why is it a problem when President Trump follows the law?
Even the most brain-dead Democrats could answer that question. The Democratic Party cannot exist without victims, and these illegals are their future base. Americans are wising up to their victimhood politics.
