Tom Cruise has been awarded a Guinness World Record for the "most burning parachute jumps by an individual."
The record was achieved during the filming of Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, where Cruise jumped out of a helicopter 16 times with a fuel-soaked, burning parachute.
Each jump involved Cruise cutting away the burning parachute and deploying a backup, filmed in Drakensberg, South Africa, from a height of at least 7,500 ft.
Guinness World Records editor-in-chief Craig Glenday praised Cruise's fearlessness and commitment to authenticity.
Cruise also holds a Guinness World Record for the actor with the most consecutive $100-million-grossing movies, with his last 11 films achieving this milestone, and revealed he passed out during the shooting of one stunt sequence for the new film.

Freakier Friday's new trailer sees Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis embroiled in quadruple chaos as they body swap AGAIN

The brand new Freakier Friday trailers sees stars Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis embroiled in quadruple chaos as they swap bodies again - 22 years after they first traded places. The anticipated movie - which is a sequel to the 2003 film Freaky Friday - sees Lindsay, 38, and Jamie, 66, reprising their original roles, as well as Chad Michael Murray. The original film followed a mother and teen daughter (played by Curtis and Lohan, respectively) who magically switch bodies after reading a cryptic fortune cookie. The follow-up film follows a similar plotline to the first movie, however, it features a huge twist involving Gen Z teenage girls that spells chaos for all involved. This time round, Lindsay's character Anna is preparing to tie the knot with to Eric Davies (Manny Jacinto), however things are proving difficult as her teenage daughter Harper (Julia Butters) despises Eric's teen girl Lily (Sophia Hammons). From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop Harper highlights her disgust as she's heard reciting mock wedding vows, in which she brands her soon-to-be step-sister 'a little demon thing with an obnoxious accent'. A flash forward to Anna's bachelorette party sees her and mother Tess Coleman sit down with a fortune teller (Vanessa Bayer), who warns them they may yet learn another lesson by 'walking in each other's paths' after noting that the warring teens 'are called to be family'. With the fortune teller's words 'Change the hearts you know are wrong, to reach the place where you belong' ringing out ominously, Anna and Tess find themselves caught up in yet another 'freaky' body swap incident - only this time, it's not just between the two of them. The next morning, Anna discovers she's swapped bodies with daughter Harper, while Tess aka 'Grandma' is now in the body of Anna's step-daughter Lily. Quadruple chaos then ensues as the foursome try to navigate their new roles with just days before the wedding. Meanwhile, the drama further escalates with the teen girls hatching a plan to break their parents up for good by attempting to get Anna to reunite with her first love Jake (Chad Michael Murray). Late last year in November, Lindsay appeared on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon and reflected on reprising her role of Anna alongside Curtis in the sequel. 'It's just been such a labor of love to make happen,' she gushed. 'Jamie [Lee Curtis] and I... even at the table read, we were just smiling so big that we couldn't... 'I don't think we were acting well because we were so happy. But the movie's funny - it's really funny,' the Mean Girls actress added. And last year in September, Jamie also opened up about acting with Lohan once again during an interview with Extra. 'So fun. We just did it this summer… We came together for 42 days and just laughed a lot, cried a lot,' she said at the time. 'It's a four-way switch… so it was intense. We have these two young beautiful actors with us, so I think you guys are going to love it.' The actress continued, 'It's joyful, you know, it's a movie that people love and people are going to love this.' Lohan also confirmed that her band Pink Slip from the original 2003 movie is also set return in the sequel. While talking to IMDB, the mother-of-one discussed reprising her role and said, 'It feels like a rhythm that never stopped. 'Pink Slip is returning in full force with a lot of love in their hearts. And it's so much fun. And it feels like the band never left each other.' Curtis also shared, 'The movie is just freakier in all aspects. It's funnier, and there's more physical comedy. The switches are freakier. This one has more swapping.' Freaky Friday (2003) earned positive reviews from critics upon its release and earned Curtis a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress in a Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy. The movie also raked in $160.8 million in the box office on a budget of $26 million. Meanwhile, while Lindsay and Jamie are thrilled to return to the franchise, there was one star who wasn't so keen. In April, the director of the upcoming 'Freaky Friday' sequel revealed she 'begged' Jodie Foster for a nostalgic cameo, but the star refused. Jodie, 66, originated the role in the 1976 Freaky Friday that launched the franchise. 'We begged her,' Ganatra, 50, told Entertainment Weekly, before revealing that Jodie declined. 'She's not going to do it.' 'Honestly, we tried everything,' the filmmaker shared, explaining that she 'never found out why' the Silence of the Lambs star refused. 'We were going to make her the principal at the school,' Ganatra said, in reference to the school Lohan's character Anna goes to. The 'Freaky Friday' franchise launched with the 1976 hit starring Foster and Barbara Harris. Before Lohan and Curtis led the successful 2003 remake, the series saw some TV movie sequels and a stage musical adaptation.

Tommy Little moved to tears as he reads a heartbreaking letter of support from family who lost 21-month-old son to brain cancer

Tommy Little broke down in tears this week as he read a letter from a family who lost their son to brain cancer. The comedian, 40, is gearing up for the Big Five Marathon in South Africa, later this month, to raise money for Hit Network co-host Carrie Bickmore 's Beanies 4 Brain Cancer charity. Tommy took to his Instagram reel on Friday to share an emotional clip in which he read a letter from parents Ollie and Brooke, who lost their son, Hugo, to brain cancer at just 21 months. 'We'll see how we go,' Tommy began, already with tears in his eyes. 'Dear Tommy,' he read. 'A letter to you for your upcoming marathon. To step willingly into something hard for the sake of others, many of whom you'll never meet, that's a rare kind of courage and a quiet power that we feel so deeply.' From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. The letter continued: 'There will be people with you on that course - some visible others unseen - like families like ours, and children like our Hugo.' Tommy then held up a photo of little Hugo, adding: 'This is why I'm already crying.' Ollie and Brooke then explained that their world was shattered when Hugo was diagnosed with brain cancer at just 10 months old. 'Hugo spent his first half of his life in hospital, crippled with a treatment that only ever gave him a 10 per cent change to see his fifth birthday,' Tommy continued reading, tears welling in his eyes. 'He passed away at 21 months old, but earnt each day showing us that with a breathing heart, a working body, and legs that can move forward is a gift.' Ollie and Brooke then wrote that they hoped Hugo could provide some Tommy with some inspiration on his upcoming challenge. 'When it gets hard out there, when your legs burn, when doubt creeps in, we hope Hugo can be the wind on your back.' they wrote. 'Hugo is so close to the earth and, when you're running in South Africa, we hope you feel that connection, too.' 'When it gets hard out there, when your legs burn, when doubt creeps in, we hope Hugo can be the wind on your back,' Tommy continued reading. Clearly moved by the deeply personal and emotional letter, Tommy said Hugo would definitely be with him in South Africa. 'I'll carry Hugo with me on the run,' he said. 'And, if it gets to the point where I feel like every muscle is going to rip off my legs, I'll keep running so hopefully, we won't have more letters like this in the future.' Tommy then addressed Ollie and Brooke directly, offering his heartfelt condolences before appealing to his 315,000 followers to donate to such a good cause. 'I know things are expensive at the moment and I know life is tough, but this is f***ing heartbreak,' he said. The emotional post was met with an outpouring of support from Tommy's friends, fans and followers. Singer Guy Sebastian jumped in, praising the effort with: 'Such an amazing thing you guys are doing and impacting so many good on ya Tommy and crew.' Olympic swimmer Alicia Coutts also offered: 'Wishing you the best Tommy for your marathon. Donated in memory of beautiful little Hugo.' Another follower summed up the sentiment of many, admitting that Hugo's story had moved them to tears. 'Oh my I lost it when Hugo's mum and dad express that Hugo can be the wind on your back Tommy,' they wrote. Tommy will be joined by co-host Carrie Bickmore on the arduous half marathon through the the Entabeni private game reserve in South Africa. The duo, competing as the Carrie and Tommy Show team will run alongside the likes of Ellidy Pullin, Olivia Molly Rogers, Sam Wood, Laura Enever, Trent Cotchin, and Merrick Watts. Tommy recently revealed that he had given up vaping and set himself a 10 kilogram weigh loss goal to prepare for the big run. Sharing a video of himself taking a jog to Instagram, Tommy said he has seven weeks to get into running shape for the cause after he became a 'doughy boy' since his last marathon. 'We are seven weeks out from The Big Five Marathon in South Africa. I just ran 13.3 kms. Not quick because I am a doughy boy,' the radio star said. 'I weighed myself this week. I weigh 86kg, which might not sound like that much, but the only time I ran a marathon I weighed 70kg. So I am 16kg over my previous running weight.' Tommy went on to write in the caption of his video: 'I plan to lose at least 10kgs and work my a*** off for the next seven weeks. Anyone who wants to get involved is more than welcome'.

Bridget Fonda looks even slimmer now after her dramatic weight loss amid Hollywood's Ozempic craze

Actress Bridget Fonda glowed when she was spotted out and about in Los Angeles this week, after her dramatic weight loss of recent months. After working with a string of top-flight directors like Francis Ford Coppola and Quentin Tarantino, she suffered an accident in the 2000s and left movies behind. Although she is married to Danny Elfman, one of the most famous composers in the entertainment industry, she has not acted since 2002. She gained weight in the years since she started leading a more private life - but in more recent months, observers have noticed her reduced frame. Her trimmed-down physique has set off speculation, given the Ozempic craze sweeping Hollywood, but fans have also theorized that she might have shed the pounds naturally by way of diet and exercise. When she surfaced on Friday, the 61-year-old looked even slimmer than before, draping her lither figure in an olive t-shirt and black trousers with a flannel shirt. Gathering her hair up into a bun, she could be glimpsed refreshing herself with an iced beverage amid the soaring summer temperatures in Los Angeles. Bridget hails from an exalted Hollywood dynasty, as the granddaughter of Old Hollywood stalwart Henry Fonda and the niece of Jane Fonda. She has not publicly commented on her weight loss, which many fans suspect may have simply been the result of lifestyle changes like altering her eating habits. Meanwhile, a raft of celebrities have admitted to taking weight-loss drugs, from Meghan Trainor and Sharon Osbourne to Amy Schumer and Rebel Wilson. Bridget and her husband, Hollywood composer Danny Elfman, have not been pictured together in years, fueling rumors about the state of their marriage. However there has been no indication in the publicly available Los Angeles court records that the pair have gotten divorced. In recent years Danny has denied a spate of sexual harassment allegations, including from a former protégée who claimed he served her a martini glass of semen. Danny, who is particularly known for his longstanding professional collaboration with Tim Burton, married Bridget in 2003 and welcomed a son with her in 2005. Publicly available court records in Los Angeles show no sign that Fonda has divorced her husband Danny Elfman, whom she married in 2003 In February 2003, during her engagement, Bridget fractured her vertebrae in a car accident on the Pacific Coast Highway. The injury prompted her to withdraw from the entertainment industry and lead a life outside the spotlight, which she has done ever since. After beginning her career aged five alongside her father Peter Fonda in the 1969 film Easy Rider, she last acted in a 2002 TV movie called Snow Queen. In between, she was directed by such names as Francis Ford Coppola in The Godfather Part III and Quentin Tarantino in Jackie Brown. A couple of years ago, when an interviewer asked her if she might ever stage a comeback, she replied: 'No, I don't think so, it's too nice being a civilian.'
