A fire has ripped through the side of a tower block in east London, making it the third blaze to take place in the same development in recent years.
Eight fire engines and around 60 firefighters were called to a flat fire at New Providence Wharf in Poplar at around 8.45pm on Tuesday evening.
Footage of the fire showed bright orange flames tearing through a flat balcony metres away from where a skyscraper caught fire last year.
Another flat fire broke out on the 25th floor of a 45-storey building, which is also part of New Providence Wharf, in August.

Witnesses described how flames engulfed an entire balcony, shattering glass and sending debris crashing to the ground during the fire.
It follows a third fire at the east London development in 2021, when a serious failure of the smoke ventilation system meant residents' only escape route was smoke-logged.

Two people needed hospital treatment after suffering the effects of smoke inhalation and another 38 adults and four children were treated at the scene after a fire ripped through the 19-storey at the development.
The London Fire Brigade said a small part of a three-roomed flat on the 13th floor of the 20-storey building was damaged by fire on Tuesday.
A small part of the flat's attached balcony has also been damaged by the blaze.
A man living in the flat and several others were treated at the scene for smoke inhalation by paramedics from the London Ambulance Service and taken to hospital.
Ten fire engines and around 70 firefighters have been called to a fire in #Blackwall.

The London Fire Brigade received 26 calls alerting them to the fire. They deployed crews from Poplar, Millwall, Plaistow, Shadwell and surrounding fire stations.

The Brigade was first called at 8.47pm and the fire was under control around half an hour later.
The LFB said the cause of the fire is under investigation.
The New Providence Wharf is home to 1,535 flats, stretching back 400 metres from the River Thames, according to its developer Ballymore's website.
Around 70 firefighters tackled the blaze at the development's tallest building in August. The LFB later revealed that the fire had been started by someone smoking in their flat.
Ballymore has been contacted for comment.

Liverpool wonderkid is a surprise candidate to REPLACE Luis Diaz

However, at the end of the day, Liverpool will want to bring in someone who can at least provide cover. Maybe not the same quality as Diaz but someone who has the same potential. And for that purpose Liverpool don't have to tap into the market. They can just promote one of the biggest talents in the academy right now. Advertisement We are of course talking about Rio Ngumoha. If Diaz leaves, he must absolutely be a surprise candidate to replace him. Ngumoha is a generational talent. There's a reason why Liverpool went all out to sign him and there's a reason why despite barely being 16-years-old, he's been regularly training with the club's first team all season, and catching the eye in training too. Ngumoha averages 13 dribblers per 90 minutes for Liverpool's academy sides this season. His one vs one ability puts him up there alongside some of the best prospects in the world. He showed against Accrington he can make an impact even against senior players. He's proving that in training sessions week, week out as well. Advertisement The one thing that has been missing a little bit is his end-product. But Ngumoha is improving that as well. He scored a brace in the U21s final game of the Premier League 2 season against Aston Villa. Recently, he provided an assist for England's U17 side in a crucial game against Italy at the U17 Euros and he scored twice and registered an assist against Northern Ireland in the final qualifying game in the lead-up to the tournament. Chelsea thought Ngumoha was good enough to play with the first team at 15-years-old. That's when he was first invited to participate in first team training sessions. He'll be 17-years-old by the start of the 2025/26 season and it already feels like he's ready to make the step-up. Sometimes you have to throw players in at the deep end, especially players as exciting as Ngumoha. If Diaz leaves, it will be a huge opportunity for the young man and Liverpool will absolutely consider Ngumoha as an option to fill the Colombian's void.

Car catches fire after crash in South Windsor

SOUTH WINDSOR, Conn. (WTNH) — A two-car crash on Route 5 near Governors Highway caused a car to catch fire Sunday night, fire crews said. Crews from the South Windsor Fire Department were dispatched to the scene at about 9:42 p.m. When they arrived, the driver of the car that caught fire was out of the vehicle. Chief Cooney said a bystander of the crash helped get the driver out of the car. The first vehicle rolled over into the tree line, then caught fire. Crews said the driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries as a result. Fire crews said the flames were stubborn and ultimately used foam to put it out. The second car's driver received minor injuries and DEEP also responded to the scene, according to crews. Officials say Route 5 will remain closed in both directions as the scene remains active. This is an open investigation. Check back later for more details. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved. This material may not be published, broadcast, rewritten, or redistributed.
