Journalist under fire: ABC's Terry Moran targets 'hater' Donald Trump, Stephen Miller; Karoline Leavitt demands action for 'rampage'
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt slammed ABC News correspondent Terry Moran (File photos)
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt slammed ABC News correspondent Terry Moran over a now-deleted series of social media posts criticising senior adviser Stephen Miller and US President
Donald Trump
.
"Last night, in a since-deleted post, so-called 'journalist' @TerryMoran went on a rampage against Stephen Miller and called President Trump 'a world class hater.' This is unhinged and unacceptable," Leavitt wrote on X.
"We have reached out to @ABC to inquire about how they plan to hold Terry accountable," she added.
The controversy erupted after Moran posted sharp criticism of Miller- describing him as defined more by animosity than intellect.
He alleged that Miller, the White House deputy chief of staff for policy, was not just the ideological engine behind Trumpism, but a figure whose antagonistic nature "was visible in his demeanour and approach."
Moran didn't spare Trump either, claiming the former president's antagonism primarily served 'to enhance his self-image.' Although the ABC journalist later removed the posts, screenshots had already gone viral.

Vice President JD Vance weighed in, calling Moran's remarks 'an absolutely vile smear of Stephen Miller.'
The heated exchange came as Trump ordered the deployment of 2,000 National Guard troops to Los Angeles, responding to escalating unrest near Paramount, California, where protesters attempted to disrupt Border Patrol operations.
Stephen Miller, known for his hardline stance on immigration and his role in crafting numerous Trump-era policies, characterised the ongoing demonstrations as an 'insurrection.'
He declared on X, 'We will take back America.'
Miller previously served as communications aide to Sen. Jeff Sessions and has continued to play a central role in the Trump administration's policy strategies, including the controversial One Big Beautiful Bill Act.
Meanwhile, Terry Moran, based in Washington, DC, covers the White House, Supreme Court, and presidential campaigns for ABC News. He has publicly shared his political insights before, noting last year that he accurately predicted Trump's 2016 win and expects a repeat in 2024.
Despite asserting he doesn't endorse any particular political view, Moran has framed Trump as a nationalist figure rather than a conventional politician.
His April interview with Trump, marking the president's first 100 days back in office, featured heated exchanges on deportations, including the case of Kilmar Abrego Garcia and alleged MS-13 ties.
This latest flashpoint follows ABC's recent $15 million defamation settlement with Trump over anchor George Stephanopoulos's language when referencing the civil sexual abuse ruling in the E. Jean Carroll case. Trump maintains his innocence in that matter.

Spying ring: YouTuber Jasbir Singh's arrest unveils financial links, Pakistan Day event connection
Mohali: The arrest of YouTuber Jasbir Singh on charges of spying for Pakistan has led to a string of shocking revelations, exposing deeper financial links and suspicious connections to a Pakistan Day event in Delhi, revealed sources in Punjab Police's state special operations cell (SSOC) in Mohali. Jasbir, who is in two-day remand of SSOC) Mohali, is under investigation for alleged involvement in espionage activities and his ties with individuals linked to Pakistani agencies. According to sources, a 32-year-old woman from Jalandhar, said to be a close associate of Jasbir, was summoned and interrogated by SSOC for several hours. Her name surfaced during Jasbir's questioning. Investigators found she accompanied Jasbir to Delhi on multiple occasions and was present with him at a Pakistan Day programme. Access to the event was strictly through digital invitations, which Jasbir managed to procure through alleged links with a man named Danish, said to be a key figure in the espionage network, according to the sources. The interrogation of the woman revealed that Jasbir not only introduced her to several individuals in Delhi, but also provided her with financial support over a period of time. Investigating officers are now examining her bank accounts to determine the purpose of these transactions and whether they were directed by foreign handlers. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Giao dịch vàng CFDs với mức chênh lệch giá thấp nhất IC Markets Đăng ký Undo Sources have also started examining her phone and social media accounts, while forensic experts continue analysing Jasbir's digital devices. Preliminary findings from Jasbir's laptop indicate that several applications were installed by an IAS officer, now under scrutiny. After the recent arrest of Haryana-based social media influencer Jyoti Malhotra, Jasbir allegedly deleted multiple applications from his system — a move investigators believe was an attempt to erase incriminating evidence. A forensics team is working to recover the deleted data, which could lead to further breakthroughs. One of the most alarming discoveries came from Jasbir's mobile phone, which contained over 150 contacts, many allegedly linked to Pakistan's ISI and army officers. According to investigators, Jasbir frequently communicated with these individuals. He was reportedly encouraged to create and promote content that portrayed Pakistan positively and to influence Indian youth through his platform. "Jasbir was advised by his handlers to bring more young Indians into the fold," said a senior police official on the pretext of anonymity. "Danish, in particular, was keen on expanding his network by including more women," he said. With multiple leads emerging from Jasbir's confession and digital trail, the SSOC continues to probe deeper into what could be part of a larger espionage and propaganda network operating across borders.

Maxine Waters tries to enter federal building in LA, gets the door slammed in her face
Democrat Rep. Maxine Waters arrived at the Federal Bureau of Prisons in Los Angeles, on Sunday. When she attempted to enter the building, an officer slammed the door in the face. A video of the incident has since gone viral on social media. In the clip, Waters can be heard saying she was there to 'check on' SEIU President David Huerta, citing her 'congressional authority' to do so. In another clip, she is seen questioning a National Guard member: 'Where is someone that's in charge…an elected official has arrived to go in to check out what's going on. Who can I speak to?' Waters later spoke to the media outside the building, claiming that President Donald Trump was attempting to implement martial law. Addressing Trump's decision to deploy the National Guard amid ongoing riots, Waters said, 'I don't know why they are here with guns. What are they gonna do? Who are they going to shoot and for what. Are they going to shoot a kid running away just because they are afraid of him? Are they going to shoot protesters because you don't like what they are saying? Why the guns? Why are the guns here?' She continued: 'We are a sanctuary city and I know Trump doesn't like us. We know he is trying to use us as an example. He is trying to goad us so that he has the martial law. He also alluded to civil war and one point.' On Saturday, Trump ordered the National Guard into Los Angeles amid widespread protests against immigration raids. The move came despite opposition from California Governor Gavin Newsom. Trump addressed the situation on Sunday. Speaking to reporters in Morristown, New Jersey, he said: "We're gonna have troops everywhere. We're not going to let this happen to our country. We're not going to let our country be torn apart like it was under Biden."
