A man has been arrested following a seven-hour "police stand-off" in a town centre. Emergency services were called to the Ffordd Las area of Rhyl following reports a man had climbed onto the roof of a property on the street on Wednesday evening.
A police cordon was put in place, and people were asked to avoid the area. Police said the incident came to a conclusion at around 1am on Thursday.
A spokesperson said: "A man remains in police custody after being arrested following an incident in Rhyl last night (Wednesday, 18th June).
"Officers were called to reports of concern for safety of a man believed to have climbed onto a roof of a property on Ffordd Las shortly before 5:30pm.
"Emergency services were deployed, and a 43-year-old man remained on the roof until shortly before 1am this morning. He was arrested on suspicion of burglary, criminal damage and assault.
"A police cordon was put in place and the road was closed to allow emergency services to bring the incident to a safe conclusion.
"The road re-opened at around 2am and we'd like to thank the local community and members of the public for their patience whilst we dealt with the incident."

Conor McGregor 'punch victim' identified after UFC star 'threw blows' in club

Conor McGregor has grabbed the headlines once again after footage appeared to show the UFC star punch someone inside an Ibiza nightclub earlier this week Club mogul Wayne Lineker has hit out at Conor McGregor after his "close friend" was allegedly punched twice by the UFC star. On Tuesday morning, footage emerged of former dual-weight UFC champion McGregor appearing to throw punches inside an Ibiza nightclub. The incident is alleged to have taken place at the Pacha nightclub. Just days on from the violent clash, Lineker has revealed it was his close friend who was hit twice by the Irishman. ‌ In a quickly-deleted Instagram post by Lineker, the 63-year-old said he was "disappointed' with McGregor for attacking his employee. The 'Notorious' was seen partying in Lineker's Ocean Beach club earlier in the night before moving to the VIP section of Pacha. ‌ 'Thought about this post a lot," Lineker's post began. 'This is my very close friend who has worked at Ocean for eight years, he has the most special heart and in all of the years that I've known him he has never raised his voice once. He took two punches from Conor McGregor in Pacha for absolutely no reason. 'He took the punches like a champion. I've since deleted my post of Conor at Ocean on Sunday. To say I'm disappointed is an understatement. We at Ocean Beach Ibiza will always put our family first #wearefamily.' One of the victim's friends - who was clubbing during the altercation - told The Sun: "He has worked with Wayne for a long time and Wayne is very loyal to his staff. "Conor had a great deal at Ocean - he got a table and drinks for free. Now that benefit may well be taken away. If you were around Conor in the club and you took your phone out, you'd be told to put it away. I don't know how (the victim) got that close to begin with. He's not said anything about pressing charges or making a formal complaint to the police. He had some time off booked after the incident anyway, but Wayne has been very good at handling it. He's fine and there was no injury from the punches. It was obviously a shock, and he feels he was in the wrong place at the wrong time." Mirror Sport has approached McGregor's representatives for comment. Earlier in the evening, McGregor was seen on the party island with TV personality Katie Price. Taking to Instagram, the 36-year-old was seen puffing on a cigar while wearing red shorts, a sun hat and sunglasses while playing up to the crowd. Price reshared the story to her own social media page with the caption: "You legend." During the chaotic scenes at the Pacha nightclub, footage appears to show McGregor's first punch failing to connect cleanly before the UFC star appears to strike the individual again with his left hand. Witnesses have since recalled the heated physical exchange. 'Clearly something's been said to annoy him and he's reacted very badly. The guy seemed to fall to the floor, and his mates came to pick him up and get him away," one reveller told The Sun. "There [didn't appear to be any] consequences for Conor, but the guy he punched was taken away, and I didn't see him again." Another said: "Someone came up to them and when Conor hit him, about five people fell to the floor as the guy stumbled back. It was a bit like bowling pins, but the guy was really shaken by the hits. About a minute later, the bouncers came and got him on the back and took him out of the club, because he had annoyed Conor. It was right before close anyway. There was no messing around; they just removed him. Conor left through the garden a bit later; he didn't look very happy that they got into a fight."

Dad of Chelsee Healey's child jailed after major drug-dealing operation

Chelsee Healey's baby daughter's dad has been jailed for his involvement in a drug-dealing operation. It comes just days after the Hollyoaks actress, 36, supported Eddie Rainford at Manchester Crown Court earlier in the week. Rainford, 32, along with another man, Jay Boyd, were accused of supplying large quantities of cannabis. The actress, who plays Goldie McQueen on the Channel 4 soap opera, had attempted to keep Rainford's identity a secret and had only shared his first name with her fans and told them he was "marriage material." Monday's hearing was adjourned to today after Judge Peter Horgan told both Rainford and Boyd that they would likely face an "immediate custodial sentence." He was remanded at HP Forest Bank while awaiting his sentencing. Judge Horgan jailed Rainford for 24 months. On Monday, Chelsee looked shocked as she watched on from the public gallery when Horgan adjourned the case. In January this year, he pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of the Class B drug between November 11, 2022 and September 28, 2023 – just days after Chelsee was booted out of ITV's Dancing On Ice. He had admitted the same charge at an earlier hearing, when the court heard that he and Boyd had a "significant role" in supplying "wholesale quantities" of the Class B drug. At the time of Chelsee's exit from the show, sources claimed that Chelsee was struggling with what was going on at home. A source told The Sun: "What Chelsee was desperately coping with while on the show was that her partner, the father of her youngest daughter, was in court for drug-dealing and has been sent to prison on remand." Chelsee even alluded to her struggles off-camera during her exit chat, saying: "There has been a lot going on with me that I have been struggling with." She had kept Rainford's identity hidden since they started dating in 2021 and since then, has only shared a handful of snaps of him on social media. It was Chelsee's Hollyoaks co-star, Richard Blackwood, who revealed Eddie's name on social media as he shared snaps from Chelsee's baby shower. But while sources had previously suggested Chelsee and Eddie were no longer together, she has gushed over their romance, explaining she instantly knew he was "the one." She said: "This is the most supportive relationship I've ever been in. My friends and family love him, and he's the first bloke I've introduced Coco to, which says a lot. I knew he was 'The One' within three to four months. I've kissed a few frogs, but he's definitely marriage material."
