Dallas Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs, who missed the final six games last season after undergoing surgery to repair a knee injury, has his sights set on returning Week 1 vs the Philadelphia Eagles, according to reporter Calvin Watkins of the Dallas Morning News.
While the All-Pro is hoping to follow through on his first major goal of the upcoming 2025 season, it will ultimately come down to how well he progresses during training camp.
Dallas signed Diggs to a five-year, $97 million extension heading into the 2023 season, but he hasn't played much since then. The former 2020 second-round pick has battled through the injury bug and has missed plenty of football, 21 games to be exact, over the past two seasons, most notably in 2023 after a gruesome ACL tear suffered during a September practice sidelined him for 15 games.
Before the injuries came into the picture, Diggs had firmly established himself as one of the NFL's premier playmakers on the back end. His ability to take away a side of the field, bait quarterbacks into mistakes, and create game-changing turnovers made him a centerpiece of Dallas' defense and a massive piece to replace once he went down.
Now under new defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus, the Cowboys will be eager to see Diggs back in the fold as well as hope to see Diggs and fellow All-Pro teammate DaRon Bland see plenty of action on the field at the same time.

The Sacramento Kings have had some really good point guards in recent years. One they traded for Domantas Sabonis (Tyrese Haliburton. The other, De'Aaron Fox, was traded for Zach LaVine plus three first-round picks. Now, according to Grant Afseth of RG Media, the Kings are once again 'motivated' to find a new point guard solution. They've even reportedly expressed an interest in landing one of two All-Star guards, Darius Garland or even a big fish, like Trae Young. Meanwhile, Young, while he has a tantalizing skillset, is already 26 years old.
