Eubank accuses Benn and team of 'derailing' weight cut
Chris Eubank Jr has accused Conor Benn and his team of "derailing" his weight cut, which led to him being fined £375,000.Eubank, 35, was over the middleweight limit on Friday morning by 0.05lb.The Englishman is the favourite against the smaller Benn as a regular middleweight, but says he underwent a difficult weight cut and was not allowed to urinate."It stings that I was 0.05lbs away from the limit and now I'll have to pay half a million to someone. These are the people [Matchroom and Benn] you are dealing with. They closed the scales off early," said Eubank."I asked to go and urinate but they said no. These are tactics people use to try and get under your skin, to try and derail you from the task at hand, which is to go out there and win."They had an agenda - they wanted that money," he added.The British Boxing Board of Control (BBBofC) set the rules for the weight cut and oversaw the official weigh-in on Friday morning, which was also attended by representatives from Matchroom, Eubank's promoters Boxxer and Benn's trainer Tony Simms.Matchroom turned down the opportunity to comment on Eubank's allegations against them."He was expecting some sympathy, but he isn't getting any sympathy from around here," said Benn.

Eubank will have to weigh in one final time at about 08:00 BST on Saturday in line with the rehydration clause.Neither Benn nor Eubank are allowed to put on more then 10lbs from the 11st 6lb limit.Benn, 28, weighed 11st 2lb and is not expected to have any issues with the rehydration limit.For Eubank, he says he is still unsure how he will approach the next 24 hours. He will be fined again if he misses weight."This is the peculiar situation that I find myself in," said Eubank."I have to watch what I eat and drink, or I can eat and drink whatever I want but then I have to get in the sauna tomorrow morning and sweat off 4lb - I still don't know which one I'm going to do."Benn is coming up two weight classes to fight Eubank and the fine will go directly to the unbeaten welterweight.The pair will fight three decades after their fathers' rivalry in the 1990s and two and a half years since Benn's failed drug tests led to the cancellation of their 2022 bout.Benn has always denied intentionally doping and had his suspension lifted in November 2024.Despite Friday's hefty fine and mental drain for Eubank, he said the only victory to celebrate will be when his "arm is raised"."If they want to look at this as their victory then that's great for them," he added."All that matters for me is who performs on the night, who puts in on the line and who represents their family name to the best of their ability."

'He was supposed to get married at Arnold Registry Office at 2pm yesterday. They were going to Majorca, they were supposed to fly out today. It's horrendous. It's never a good time, but this is the worst time though. He was the life and soul of the party, everyone loved him. 'He was a cheeky chap. He was massively into his sports and we both played football. He played for local teams, and played at veterans level. He loved his cricket and boxing. He went to Wembley to watch England and he recently went to watch the Eubank vs Benn fight. He was Nottingham Forest mad too. 'Because he wasn't married he's got money himself. To get it released is a long process, so the main aim is to pay for the funeral and take the strain off of his partner and give any money left over to his son. The main reason is to help his son out and give him something.' Philip has now set up a GoFundMe to help cover funeral costs and to set up a trust for retired-EON advisor Scott's son. In a statement, the family said: 'Today (Saturday the 7th of June) we had to say goodbye to a much loved friend, partner, father, uncle and brother. 'Scott had a traffic accident from which he didn't recover. I am trying to raise funds to give him the send off that he deserves any remaining funds will be put into trust for his 13 year old son he leaves behind. Funeral arrangements will be posted in due course. He was due to marry his partner on Monday 9th June. We are all in deep shock please find it in your hearts to help.' More than £5,700 has been raised so far towards a £7,500 target. In response, the family said: 'We are truly humbled and grateful for all your generosity. It just shows how loved Scott was. I will keep the fund raising going to help Scott's son. Massive thanks to everyone who has donated and a special thanks to the Park Tavern and the Oxford public house who are organising fundraising events.' Nottinghamshire Police said officers were investigating the incident but were unable to provide any more information at this stage.

The key numbers behind Raith Rovers' move for first summer signing Jai Rowe
Raith Rovers' first signing of the summer, Jai Rowe, has not come from the usual merry-go-round of players available in Scottish football. For a right-back, the recruit from England's National League has come from somewhat leftfield. The 23-year-old had been offered a new deal at former club Boston United, but has instead opted for a new challenge in the Scottish Championship. Courier Sport has taken a look at the numbers that have made the promising defender attractive to Raith. Rowe turns 24 on August 8 but has already packed a lot into his career. Starting out in first-team football with Barwell in England's seventh-tier at the age of just 16, he now has seven seasons under his belt. With three of those years spent in League Two, the full-back has built up a considerable amount of top-team experience for someone his age. Raith will be optimistic the Englishman can hit the ground running at Stark's Park. Rowe has penned a two-year deal with Rovers, and will welcome the stability after going summer to summer down south. Vice-captain Ross Matthews has signed on for just one more year and Callum Smith has agreed only six months as he completes his comeback from a serious knee injury. Previously, others have been handed only 12-month agreements and shorter. So, two years is an indication Raith do not see Rowe as much of a gamble and they expect him to make an impact not just next season but in 2026/27 as well. Rowe featured in 55 games for Boston last season – every single match they played. Of those 55 matches, incredibly he started 52, with his three substitute's outings coming in the league against York City, FC Halifax Town and AFC Fylde. He was Boston's most consistent performer, topping their appearance charts. With Raith having struggled with injuries and consistency at times last term, they will be hoping Rowe can continue being available and dependable. For a full-back, Rowe's goal-scoring statistics are impressive. He has netted 22 times over the course of his career so far, and comes north after his most prolific campaign. The versatile and athletic player was Boston's second-top scorer last season with nine goals in his 55 appearances. It is clear he will add something to Raith in attack as well as defence. Rovers will be hopeful Rowe provides the answer to what has become something of a problem position of late. Over the last two seasons, they have had four right-backs come and go without settling. Ross Millen was a regular but was frozen out due to a disagreement behind the scenes midway through season 2023/24. Since then, James Brown on loan from St Johnstone, ex-Dundee United defender Kieran Freeman and one-time Chelsea youngster Fankaty Dabo have failed to prove themselves a long-term fit on the right side of Raith's defence.
