‘My proudest achievement': TV star Georgia Harrison blown away by MBE
Reality TV star Georgia Harrison has expressed her surprise at being appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) for her work in addressing online privacy and raising awareness about cybercrime.
Harrison, 30, best known for her appearances on The Only Way Is Essex and Love Island, has dedicated herself to campaigning against violence against women and girls.
It comes following her own experience as a victim of revenge porn.
She said she was "completely blown away" by the honour.
She told the PA news agency: 'Honestly, I'm completely blown away to be receiving an MBE – it's one of my proudest achievements and something I didn't expect to be coming through the letter box this summer.
'It means the world to have this kind of recognition, not just for me, but for all the survivors who've been through what I have.
'Speaking out after what happened wasn't easy, but I knew it was important.
'I didn't want anyone else to feel as alone or powerless as I did. I've tried to turn something painful into something positive, and this honour is a reminder that we can make change when we use our voices.
'Thank you to everyone who's supported me along the way, to all of the MPs that invited me in to speak with open arms and to all the charities that supported me and my fellow survivors.
'I'll never stop fighting for what's right and I'll always step up when and where I think I can make a positive difference for others.'
In 2021, the TV star waived her right to anonymity amid a trial that saw her ex-partner, Stephen Bear, accused of sharing a secretly recorded sex tape of her to adult content website OnlyFans.
Bear, also a reality TV star, served 10 and a half months of a 21-month sentence after being found guilty of voyeurism and of two counts of disclosing private sexual photographs and films with intent to cause distress.
In April 2023, the month after he was sentenced, Harrison attended a demonstration, held outside Parliament by domestic violence charity Refuge, calling for specific protections for women and girls to be included in the Online Safety Bill.
She also called for social media platforms to be 'held accountable' for online harassment and abuse, and criticised the justice system for failing to 'keep up'.
Later that year, she discussed the Bill in a Downing Street meeting with former technology secretary Michelle Donelan as it returned to the Commons for its final stages.
In recognition of her work advocating for online safety and the prevention of violence against women and girls she won the activist gong at the Glamour Women of the Year Awards 2023.
Reflecting on her campaigning, she told The Sun in October 2023 that she had had 'serious conversations with a couple of Labour MPs' about a bid to represent an Essex constituency.
In 2024, she helped Thames Valley Police launch a campaign about sexual consent titled Consent Conservations.
Harrison explored the prevalence of deepfakes and image-based sexual abuse in an ITV documentary titled Georgia Harrison: Porn, Power, Profit, which was released earlier in the year.
As well as Love Island, she has taken part in reality TV shows including Celebrity Ex On The Beach and Channel 4 reality show Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins, which she won with boxer Lani Daniels.
In April, she announced she was expecting her first child with her partner Jack Stacey.

A swarm of activists hit the streets to stand up for men who hang homosexuals by the neck and who shoot women dead for demanding a little more freedom. It was an 'emergency protest' called by the Palestinian Youth Movement (PYM) in response to Israel's strikes on Iran. The PYM, echoing many on the increasingly crazed and Israelophobic Left, describes Israel's strikes as 'Zionist aggression'. Israel's aim, they say, is to crush Iran 'under the boot of imperialism'. This is flat-out false. Israel has no intention of imperiously conquering Iran. It has made clear that its target is not the nation of Iran, far less the Iranian people. It's the tyrannical rulers of the current Islamic republic, that 'evil and oppressive regime ', in Benjamin Netanyahu's words. It is these murderous mullahs who really have their 'boot' on the benighted people of that once great nation. Israel's strikes were not aimed at ordinary Iranians. This was a decapitation mission designed to take out the military top dogs of the theocratic tyranny. It will go down as one of the most surgical assaults in the whole history of warfare. One by one, the regime's military heavies and uranium-weaponising scientists were bumped off. Israel's laser-focused projectiles reached right into their bedrooms, ending their lives while leaving the apartment blocks in which they lived fully intact. Let's speak frankly: when you say 'Hands off Iran' in the aftermath of a strike against Iran's brutish overlords, what you're really saying is: 'Hands off the regime.' You are saying don't harm these Islamist bigots. Leave their cruel caliphate intact. That would have been a more honest slogan for Friday's noisy assembly: 'Hands off the theocracy!' How galling that as many Iranians pray for the swift demise of the clerical tyranny they suffer under, people gather in liberal London basically to say: 'Leave it alone.' Who were these activists blubbing over, exactly? Hossein Salami, the commander of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guards, the most senior official to be killed? Salami's army of 'guards' were the most ruthless enforcers of the regime's theocratic diktats. They massacred 500 mostly young men and women in 2022 for the crime of opposing the mandatory hijab law. You can cry for Salami if you like – I'll save my tears for the Iranians he slaughtered simply for daring to dream of freedom. Maybe they're upset by reports that the commander of the Quds Force, Esmail Qaani, was also killed. This is the force that oversees Iran's vicious proxies, like Hezbollah and Hamas. Personally speaking, my thoughts are with the innocent Israelis, Syrians and Lebanese murdered by those wicked armies, not the man who sponsored and greenlit their barbarism. The Left is not just peddling misinformation about the Israel-Iran clash – it is entirely inverting reality. The truth is it was Iran that launched a 'war of aggression' against Israel, via its fascistic proxies of Hamas and Hezbollah. For the Jewish State to take out Qaani, Iran's go-between with those armies of anti-Semites that raped and murdered so many Israelis – that is the most just act of war I can remember. We can now see just how serious and psychotic the Left's death wish has become. The Islamo-Left, that unholy alliance of so-called progressives and Islamic theocrats, is truly going off the rails. We've had Queers for Palestine, that gaggle of blue-haired genderfluids who are hilariously unaware that they'd be tossed off the nearest tall building if they ever set foot in Gaza. And now we have these bozos for theocracy, wailing 'Hands off!' because ruthless men who execute homosexuals, repress women and kill Jews have been served with the justice they so richly deserve. Iran, right now, is ruled by a regime that is violently hostile to sexual equality, sexual freedom, secularism and trade unionism. Tragedy as body is found in search for missing woman, 35, last seen carrying a rucksack and wearing all black
The body of a missing woman who was last seen carrying a rucksack and wearing all black has sadly been found. Police officers began the search after Natalie was reported missing in South Yorkshire on Friday. Although formal identification has not yet taken place, they found a body that they believe is her. She was last spotted in the Hatfield area of Doncaster at around 11.55am. South Yorkshire Police issued an appeal to help find her, after officers were 'becoming increasingly concerned for Natalie's welfare'. Posting on Facebook, a South Yorkshire Police spokesman said: 'A body has ben found in search for missing Natalie 'Officers searching for missing woman Natalie from Doncaster have sadly found a body today (Saturday 14 June). 'Formal identification has not yet taken place but officers believe it to be Natalie. Although formal identification has not yet taken place, police found a body which they believe to be Natalie 'Her family have been informed and our thoughts are with them and all of Natalie's friends and loved ones.' Hundreds of people commented on the post, sharing their condolences with the family. One user wrote: 'Such devastating news thinking of all her family and friends.' Another added: 'Oh that's awful and very sad. My condolences to her family and loved ones'.

Starmer announces full inquiry into grooming gangs after resisting calls for probe
Keir Starmer will launch a statutory inquiry into the grooming gangs scandal after resisting pressure for months to implement a full national probe. The British Prime Minister said he had read 'every single word' of an independent report into child sexual exploitation by Baroness Louise Casey and would accept her recommendation for the investigation. Advertisement Earlier this year the Government dismissed calls for a public inquiry, saying its focus was on putting in place the outstanding recommendations already made in a seven-year national inquiry by Professor Alexis Jay. Prof Jay's 2022 report concluded there had been institutional failings across the country and tens of thousands of victims in England and Wales. But speaking to reporters travelling with him on his visit to Canada, the Prime Minister said: 'From the start I have always said that we should implement the recommendations we have got because we have got many other recommendations… I think there are 200 when you take all of the reviews that have gone on at every level and we have got to get on with implementing them. 'I have never said we should not look again at any issue. I have wanted to be assured that on the question of any inquiry. That's why I asked Louise Casey who I hugely respect to do an audit. Advertisement 'Her position when she started the audit was that there was not a real need for a national inquiry over and above what was going on. 'She has looked at the material she has looked at and she has come to the view that there should be a national inquiry on the basis of what she has seen. 'I have read every single word of her report and I am going to accept her recommendation. That is the right thing to do on the basis of what she has put in her audit. 'I asked her to do that job to double check on this; she has done that job for me and having read her report, I respect her in any event. I shall now implement her recommendations.' Advertisement Asked when it would be launched, he said the probe would be implemented under the Inquiries Act, which will take 'a bit of time to sort out' and would be done in 'an orderly way'. This means the inquiry will be able to compel witnesses to give evidence. It is understood the inquiry will be national in scope, co-ordinating a series of targeted local investigations. A national row over grooming gangs was ignited in January after tech billionaire Elon Musk used his X social media platform to launch a barrage of attacks on Starmer and safeguarding minister Jess Phillips. Advertisement It followed the Government's decision to decline a request from Oldham Council for a Whitehall-led inquiry into child sexual abuse in the town. The Government later commissioned a 'rapid' audit by Lady Casey into the nature and scale of group-based child sexual abuse, which had been due to take three months but was delayed. Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch, who has repeatedly attacked him over his resistance to launching another national probe, said the Prime Minister had to be 'led by the nose to make the correct decision'. 'Keir Starmer doesn't know what he thinks unless an official report has told him so,' she said.
