Former Madison City Schools teacher aide charged with willful abuse of child
MADISON, Ala. (WHNT) — A former Madison City Schools employee turned herself in Tuesday on an outstanding warrant for child abuse, police say.
The Madison Police Department said Jamie Lynn Schwab was arrested and booked into the Madison County Jail on Tuesday for torture/willful abuse of a child.
The department told News 19 that Schwab was a former teacher's aide for Madison City Schools. The charge stems from an ongoing investigation conducted by the Madison Police with the 'full assistance and cooperation of Madison City Schools.'

MPD said Schwab is no longer employed by the MCS and Schwab was being held on a $5,000 bond, but has since been released.
'As this is an active investigation, we can comment no further on this case,' MPD told News 19.
News 19 has reached out to Madison City Schools to comment on this investigation but have not received a response.

Man accused of shooting at victim outside of Economy Inn
MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis Police need the public's help to make an arrest after shots were fired at a local hotel. Officers responded to a call at the Economy Inn Hotel on Lamar just before 3:30 a.m. on May 31. Investigators said the victim was at the hotel due to a situation involving his sibling, who was being assaulted by her boyfriend. When the victim arrived, the suspect came out of the hotel and told him to leave. MPD: Man accused of beating sleeping man with tree limb The victim told officers that he told the suspect he was there to help his sister, and then the suspect threatened to shoot him. As the victim attempted to leave, he said the suspect fired his weapon and struck the victim's car. Police described the suspect as a man standing between 5'9″ and 6'2″, weighing approximately 220 pounds. He was wearing a black hoodie, a white t-shirt, black pants and red shoes.
