Boy band signed by Diddy reveal the moment he 'switched out of nowhere' when they were just teenagers

Daily Mail17-05-2025

A boy band signed under Sean ' Diddy ' Combs' record label recalled moments the disgraced mogul 'switched out of nowhere' and took his anger out of them while they were still teenagers.
Diddy, 55, is currently standing trial on racketeering and sex-trafficking charges, to which he has pled not guilty, and his ex-Cassie Ventura has given shocking testimony about his 'freak off' parties.
Jurors watched video of the rapper attacking Ventura in a Los Angeles hotel in 2016 as she tried to escape one of his 'freak offs', and Ventura described Combs as unpredictable, claiming he had outbursts of violence when his 'eyes grew black.'
As his trial continues, this week members of the group B5, who signed with Combs' Bad Boy Records in the early 2000s, told the US Sun they witnessed his aggressive behavior first hand.
Patrick Breeding, one of the groups lead vocalists, recalled a moment when Combs became aggressive with him over the phone when he was just 14.
'We were getting ready for our second single, You Got Me, and we were working on choreography,' Patrick told the outlet.
'We were making adjustments to it, and [Combs] was like, "I don't like that, let's change this." So, when we left rehearsal, he had called.
'I was on the phone talking with [Combs]. "I'm like, 'What's going on?" He's like, "How's it looking? Have you guys made the changes?"
'I'm like, "Yeah, we made the changes. It looks great. I feel like everything is pretty much good to go."
'And then he kind of just like switched. Just switched out of nowhere and started raising his voice. Like, "No, it ain't. It ain't better."'
Patrick said he tried to explain to Diddy that they changes were good, but 'he just went off.'
'I was surprised and shocked because I haven't experienced that. We met him multiple times. We did showcases. So, I was very surprised, and I was kind of like confused like where it was coming from.
B5 member Dustin Breeding, added, 'He just didn't like the answer, I guess, it set him off.'
'For me, I just had an experience with him just kind of jumping on the phone with me. I guess I said something to my mom, which I don't know how he got that information.
'He was yelling at me. I was taken aback a little bit, like, where's this animosity coming from?'
The band members, who are all brothers, shared that they were not surprised to learn about the charges levelled against Diddy.
'Everybody knew. He was always throwing parties. He was here, there, music, clothing, and also he was the CEO, so he was always all over the place,' Patrick said.
Another Diddy protégé, Aubrey O'Day, recently revealed she will not be testifying during his trial despite being contacted by Homeland Security.
O'Day, 41, rose to fame as the lead singer of the girl group Danity Kane, which got a record deal with Diddy's Bad Boy Records in 2005 after winning season three of MTV's Making The Band 3.
The singer — who has spoken out against the disgraced hip hop mogul in the past and called his indictment a 'win for women' — said she will not take the stand at the trial, which entered its fifth day on Friday.
'No, I'm not here to testify for the Diddy trial, that I know of,' she said during a premiere episode of Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes's iHeart Radio podcast covering the trial.
She had previously caused speculation she'd appear in the courtroom after recently sharing a social media video from New York.

White House aide calls Los Angeles anti-ICE protests an 'insurrection'

WASHINGTON, June 7 (Reuters) - Senior White House aide Stephen Miller on Saturday condemned protests in downtown Los Angeles against federal immigration raids as an "insurrection" against the United States. Helmeted police in riot gear engaged in a tense confrontation with protesters on Friday night after Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents conducted enforcement operations in the city and arrested at least 44 people on immigration violations. "An insurrection against the laws and sovereignty of the United States," Miller, the White House deputy chief of staff, wrote on X. Miller, an immigration hardliner, was responding to video footage on X showing a large number of people protesting in downtown Los Angeles. The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) said it had not made any arrests related to the demonstration. FBI deputy director Dan Bongino posted on X that they were reviewing evidence from the protests. "We are working with the U.S. Attorney's Office to ensure the perpetrators are brought to justice," Bongino said. "The Right to assemble and protest does not include a license to attack law enforcement officers, or to impede and obstruct our lawful immigration operations." President Donald Trump has pledged to deport record numbers of people in the country illegally and lock down the U.S.-Mexico border, with the White House setting a goal for ICE to arrest at least 3,000 migrants per day. But the sweeping immigration crackdown has also included people legally residing in the country, including some with permanent residence, and has led to legal challenges. Television news footage earlier on Friday showed caravans of unmarked military-style vehicles and vans loaded with uniformed federal agents streaming through Los Angeles streets as part of the immigration enforcement operation. "Forty-four people (were arrested) on immigration charges," Yasmeen Pitts O'Keefe, a spokesperson for Homeland Security Investigations told Reuters on Saturday. The LAPD did not take part in the immigration enforcement. It was deployed to quell civil unrest after crowds protesting the deportation raids spray-painted anti-ICE slogans on the walls of a federal court building and gathered outside a nearby jail where some of the detainees were reportedly being held. Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass in a statement condemned the immigration raids. "I am deeply angered by what has taken place," Bass said. "These tactics sow terror in our communities and disrupt basic principles of safety in our city. We will not stand for this."

BREAKING NEWS Atlantic Starr singer Wayne Lewis dies at 68 as tributes pour in for R&B legend

Wayne Lewis of the legendary R&B band Atlantic Starr has died. The singer, songwriter, and co-founding member of the group was 68. The band announced his passing in a heartfelt Facebook post on June 6, writing: 'It's with great sadness we have to post the passing of Wayne Lewis on June 5, 2025. 'Please keep the family in your prayers and respect their privacy. #waynelewis #restinpeace #flyhigh Sunrise 4/13/1957 Sunset 6/5/2025 #restinpeaceWayne.' A cause of death has not yet been revealed. Lewis was a driving force behind Atlantic Starr, a New York-based group formed in the mid-1970s with his brothers David and Jonathan Lewis. The band rose to fame in the '80s with their signature blend of smooth soul, R&B, and pop — becoming staples on both the Billboard Hot 100 and R&B charts. Wayne Lewis served as both lead vocalist and keyboardist, contributing to some of the band's biggest hits, including Always, Secret Lovers, Circles, Silver Shadow, and Masterpiece. Their 1987 ballad Always hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and became a wedding anthem for a generation. Tributes have poured in across social media. 'A great songwriter. Atlantic Star was better once he became leader. He will be missed,' one fan wrote. Another praised him as 'a great songwriter' and 'an icon of soulful love songs.' Yet another added, 'Omg I'm devastated. I was looking forward to seeing them perform this Sunday at Capital Jazz Festival. My condolences.' Wayne co-founded Atlantic Starr in 1976 in White Plains, New York, alongside his brothers David and Jonathan Lewis, originally forming the band under the name Newban before changing it ahead of their first major label signing.
