
Three jailed after 'large cannabis farm' found in Greenock
Officers acting on intelligence searched a disused retail unit in West Stewart Street on Greenock, on January 21, 2024.
Police say they uncovered a cannabis cultivation worth up to £3.6 million.
The 'sophisticated' set up included a total of 6000 plants in two large growing areas. Each had irrigation, industrial heating, and lighting units for the plants.

Three men were arrested and charged in connection with the recovery.
The men have since been sentenced at the High Court in Edinburgh.
On Thursday, December 12 last year, Auriel Xhoka, 33, and Glendian Daci, 26, were sentenced to three years and nine months in prison for being concerned in the production of a controlled drug.

Today, Antonjo Selami, 38, was also sentenced to three years and nine months in prison for being in the production of a controlled drug.

Detective Inspector Gordon Smith said: 'Uncovering a cultivation of this scale has a significant impact on the supply of cannabis onto Scotland's streets.
'I hope that this sentencing sends a clear message to anyone involved in the production and supply of illegal drugs that we will use all resources at our disposal to track you down and ensure you face the consequences.
'Police Scotland remains committed to the Serious Organised Crime Taskforce and the country's Serious and Organised Crime Strategy, and our officers are determined to protect members of the public from this type of criminality
'The support we receive from the public is vital, and we urge anyone with information or concerns regarding drugs in their community to contact police through 101.

Man with knife reported in Scots play park as police launch probe
Police are searching for a man who reportedly had a knife in a Scots playground. A manhunt has been launched after a man was reportedly in a Scots playpark with a knife. Officers from Police Scotland received a report of a man with a knife in a playpark in Rossend Terrace in Burntisland today at around 1.55pm. Locals have noted that officers have been going door-to-door as part of their investigation into the incident. Images and videos from the scene show four cops watching over the park, as the Force noted that enquiries are ongoing. Concerned parents vented their frustration on social media. One person wrote: "My wean was at the park and some dude with a couple dogs was threatening one of her pal's maws with a knife." Another said: "They were looking for a bald headed guy with a knife." A Police Scotland spokesperson said: 'Around 1.55pm on Sunday, 15 June, 2025, we received a report of a man with a knife in a playpark in Rossend Terrace, Burntisland. Enquiries are ongoing.' On April 16, in a separate incident, we reported that a man was charged in connection with the alleged assault of a toddler in a Scots play park.
