BBC's Andy Burke answers your Scottish rugby questions
BBC Sport Scotland rugby reporter Andy Burke has been answering some of your questions as Andy Farrell prepares to name his Lions squad on Thursday.
David asked: With all the recent performances in Six Nations and Europe, my prediction is 30 out of 37 of the Lions squad will be Irish or English. Farrell will go safe and what he knows. Do you think I'll be far wide of the mark?
Andy answered: I'd like to think the spread of players across the nations will be a little more even than that.
Andy Nicol, Tom English and I made our squad predictions on this week's BBC Scotland Rugby Podcast and I had 13 Irish, 12 English, nine Scots and four Welsh players.
That may be a little on the hopeful side (I had 11 Scots in my original draft!) but the beauty of the Lions is it's four countries coming together, not one or two dominating with a smattering of players from the other nations.
Scotland have been where Wales are now and it's horrible when you don't see your country well represented in a Lions squad.
All that being said, Farrell won't be too concerned if he upsets a few folk with his selections. He'll pick whoever he feels is best placed to get the job done Down Under.
Jamie asked: Given we could have as many as eight Scottish backs picked for the Lions tour, with five realistically with a chance of playing in the opening Test match, how telling is it that Gregor Townsend hasn't made the coaching squad but Johnny Sexton has?
Andy answered: Well firstly we don't know if Townsend was offered a role with the Lions.
I suspect having toured as part of Warren Gatland's backroom team to South Africa in 2021, Townsend may not have fancied another stint as someone else's assistant. That's just a personal view. I've no idea if he was offered a role or not.
It is testament to Townsend's work with the Scotland backs that so many of them are in Lions contention.
The appointment of Sexton was a real surprise. What does that tell us? That Sexton and Farrell are incredibly tight, view the game the same way and Farrell believes the Ireland legend has something to offer, be it his rugby brain or ability to drive standards.
Let's hope Sexton has an appreciation for the abilities of some of those Scottish backs.

Meanwhile, the west London outfit are also holding talks with Brighton star Joao Pedro. Chelsea are among a number of teams interested and also held a meeting regarding the Brazilian last month. The 23-year-old cost £30m from Watford in 2023 and scored an impressive 10 goals while claiming four assists in the Premier League last season. Chelsea would be willing to offer around £50million with the possibility of other players being offered in the deal, potentially even on loan. Pedro would further boost Chelsea's attack after they completed the signing of Liam Delap from Ipswich on a six-year deal on Wednesday. The 22-year-old became Enzo Maresca's second signing of the summer after they triggered his £30m release clause. The two clubs came to an agreement over Delap last week, and after undergoing a medical he has put pen to paper on a long-term contract at Stamford Bridge. The striker had interest from Manchester United, Newcastle, Nottingham Forest and Everton, after an impressive first full season in the Premier League. Delap scored 12 Premier League goals in 37 appearances after leaving Manchester City last summer. Pep Guardiola's side will receive 30 per cent of the fee as per their sell-on clause.

Manchester City are working on agreement with Lyon over a fee for midfielder Rayan Cherki. City will also sign AC Milan midfielder Tijjani Reijnders pending a medical on a five year deal after they agreed an initial £46.3million fee with the Italians. The fee can rise with bonuses to £58m. Reijnders said: 'The Premier League is of course a great competition, that's what you dream of as a little boy. 'I haven't had any contact with [Pep] Guardiola yet.' There were a few tears – Wales forward David Brooks expecting first child
Brooks, who was diagnosed with stage-two Hodgkin lymphoma nearly four years ago, and wife Flora are expecting their first child on November 1. The 27-year-old Bournemouth player announced he was cancer-free in May 2022, but the long-term effects of the disease in terms of fathering children were unclear. 'Obviously when I was diagnosed you have those conversations and there were never any guarantees that I would be able to have children in the future,' said Brooks, who has linked up with the Wales squad for their World Cup qualifying double header against Liechtenstein and Belgium. 'There was a chance it wouldn't have been possible and I was really lucky that it came naturally. After my treatment things went back to normal so, of course, I was really happy. 'We were trying so it wasn't a massive shock, but there were a few tears. 'We always wanted kids at some point, but the situation kind of took it out of hands a little bit. 'So it's obviously very nice for everything to come naturally and progress into being a family. 'We're really looking forward to it, even though she is going through everything that comes with being pregnant.' Brooks was the Wales hero in their last World Cup qualifier against North Macedonia in March. His equaliser in the sixth minute of stoppage time secured a precious 1-1 draw, making it four points from the opening two qualifiers and extending Craig Bellamy's unbeaten start as Dragons manager to eight games. 'I think it instils a little bit of fear into who we are playing,' said Brooks. 'They know we are not going to give up, even if it's the 96th minute. It's a massive positive. 'If felt like a big goal in North Macedonia and it makes the table looks a lot better for us. I feel like we are on a good journey.' Brooks says he is now in the 'old box' at 27 with the Wales squad having changed so much in recent years. Gareth Bale and Joe Allen are retired and captain Aaron Ramsey, the third standout member of the team which reached the semi-finals of Euro 2016, is recovering from another injury setback. Brooks said: 'This is probably the first campaign we have had without them. 'There's a lot of young talent coming through and a lot of lads, including myself, who have been waiting for an opportunity to showcase ourselves. 'We are all looking as a collective to try to move forward, instead of it being about the special individual.'
