2026 Pixel 11 series could be historic for this reason
For a couple of years now we've been talking about the Tensor G5 application processor (AP) that will power the Pixel 10 series. Unlike all of the other Tensor models, the G5 is built using Google designs from the bottom up. Previously the chips used Samsung Exynos designs mixed in with some customization from Google. And all of the previous Tensor APs were manufactured by Samsung Foundry which was just happy to have any business at all thanks to the Foundry's poor yields. With Google designing the Tensor G5 from the bottom up, the Alphabet subsidiary has the ability to build key features into the new processor to support certain Pixel 10 features. In addition, as if the break from using Samsung's Exynos AP as the foundation of the Pixel's AP weren't enough of a positive change, the new Tensor will be built by TSMC using an enhanced version of its initial 3nm process node (N3E). Using the latter process node will bring improved performance, power efficiency, and thermal management to the Tensor chip. And the improvements don't appear to be ending anytime soon for the Tensor AP. A new report says that next year, the Pixel 11 series could be powered by the Tensor G6 which might be built by TSMC using its 2nm process node. In other words, the Pixel 11 could be one of the first smartphone lines to employ a 2nm application processor. Right now the Samsung Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26 +, in most markets outside of the U.S., China, and Canada, could be first in line to be powered by a 2nm AP. That would be the Exynos 2600. The Galaxy S26 line could be released in late January to mid-February next year. The Pixel 11 will probably be launched in August 2026. Should Samsung Foundry be able to clear up its yield problems and Samsung decides to use the Exynos 2600 for the Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26 +, those two flagship devices will make history as the first smartphones to be powered by a 2nm AP. Should Samsung decide to once again go with the latest Snapdragon 8 AP for the Galaxy S26 series, the Pixel 11 could be the phone making history as the first to sport a 2nm chipset. New leak suggests the Google Pixel 10 will skip some upgrades that users expected
A new leak has revealed that the standard Pixel 10 might leave out several features, raising questions about how much it will improve over its predecessor. While some upgrades are still expected, the list of missing features may push more users to consider the Pro model instead. According to this report, the base Pixel 10 could skip out on a vapor chamber. This kind of cooling system helps control heat and improve performance during gaming or other demanding tasks. The Pixel 9 also lacked one, and it seems the same might happen again this year. Another possible omission is Wi-Fi 7. Last year's Pixel 9 supported the faster standard, but the Pixel 10 is now expected to only offer Wi-Fi 6E. This could be a step back, especially as Wi-Fi 7 is becoming more common across new devices. The camera setup is also getting attention. The Pixel 10 is rumored to include a triple-camera layout, which would be a first for the base model. However, earlier reports suggest Google might use smaller sensors for the main and ultrawide cameras to make room for the third lens. That could impact overall photo quality, particularly in low-light conditions. Some software-based features may also be missing. An earlier leak claimed that Google would improve video stabilization across the entire Pixel 10 lineup. But according to the new report, that feature may only be available on the Pro version. That means the base model might not get the same smooth video recording capabilities. It's expected to be a more advanced version of Super Res Zoom, which has been around since the Pixel 3. While Super Res Zoom supports up to 8x zoom, Ultra Res Zoom could go even further. Still, the leak says this feature will likely be exclusive to the Pro version. In terms of design, the Pixel 10 may come with matte sides and a glossy back, offering a bit of visual contrast compared to previous models. The Pixel 10 series is rumored to launch in late August. Pricing details are still unknown, but if these leaks are accurate, the gap between the base model and the Pro may grow even wider. For those deciding between the Pixel 10 and a future Pixel 10a, it may come down to whether the missing features are worth skipping or spending more for. Realme P3 Ultra in for review
We had a quick hands-on with the Realme P3 Ultra in March but it's now time for a review. Realme P3 Ultra The phone has a standout design, no matter which color you go for. The Neptune Blue and Orion Red both feature vegan leather finishes, while this Glowing Lunar White is unique. The moon's surface is etched under the smooth back panel, and it's infused with "glowing material", which lights up in the dark, just like the watch hands of your old childhood watch. The Glowing Lunar model is impressive (the green effect is a bit overdone by our smartphone camera here) Just hit the back with enough light force, and it will glow a light green in the dark. You can see it with your eyes just fine, but we've accentuated it in these photos for you. The Realme P3 Ultra ships with a case, a USB-A to USB-C cable, and an 80W charger. The phone has been available in India and Malaysia and is now becoming available in Europe, with Latin America and Southeast Asia to follow. You have a choice of 8/128GB, 8/256GB, and 12/256GB configurations. The glowing effect is nice but it's something you'll stop caring about pretty soon after you purchase the Realme P3 Ultra. What will last longer is the thinness of the phone. At 7.4mm, it's noticeably svelte. The phone is also impressively light at 186g, given its 6.83-inch display size. It's a big phone, but the thin profile and low weight make it feel nicely pocketable. The slender curve of both the front and rear panels is also pleasant, giving the phone a high-end look and feel. The 10-bit screen leaves little to complain about. It's big, bright, and very punchy out of the box. It's also nicely specced with a 120Hz refresh rate, up to 1,500 nits of peak brightness. Realme UI 6.0 runs smoothly thanks to the display's refresh rate and the 4nm Dimensity 8350 Ultra. Stay tuned for more.
