Horror as family-of-seven found dead inside car with three kids
A chilling discovery was made by locals on Monday, as a family-of-seven were tragically found dead inside a parked vehicle, including three children.
Horror as a family of seven, which included three children, were tragically found dead inside a parked car by terrified locals.
On Monday night, police confirmed the harrowing discovery after residents discovered the bodies locked inside a parked vehicle outside a house.
Authorities believe 42-year-old Praveen Mittal, his parents, wife, and three children, were heavily in debt, which prompted them to enter into a tragic suspected suicide pact, reports the Mirror. Police believe Mr Mittal had come to Panchkula, India with his family yesterday to attend a Hanuman Katha programme.
When the event finished, the family allegedly agreed to enter into a suicide pact while returning to Dehradun, it is claimed.
The deceased were identified as Mr Mittal, 42, along with his parents, wife, and their two daughters and son. Punit Rana, who first spotted the car parked outside his house, quickly called for an ambulance.
Police were able to break the doors of the car and rushed the victims to a local hospital. However, they were all declared dead on arrival. Authorities confirmed they recovered a suicide note from the scene. An investigation into their deaths is underway.
Detective Himadri Kaushik, who is leading the investigation, told local media: "This is too early to reach any conclusion. Investigations are in progress, and we're trying to get in touch with their kin to complete the inquest and other formalities."
It comes months after a seven-year-old girl who survived her mum's triple murder-suicide rampage tragically died after fighting for her life in hospital.
Olivia Blackmer was shot in the head by her mother Tranyelle Harshman at the family's home in Byron, Wyoming, on February 10 in a horror attack during which the 32-year-old killed three of her other children.
Harshman - who was living with postpartum depression and PTSD - shot dead Olivia's older sister Brailey, nine, and her two younger twin half-sisters, two-year-old Brooke and Jordan.
The mum then called 911 and told authorities where to find her children's bodies before turning the gun on herself, and later died at hospital following the arrival of first responders at the scene, who transferred gravely injured Olivia to Utah Children's Hospital, where she underwent emergency brain surgery.
She spent several days under heavy sedation before her step-mum announced the sad news that she had died from her injuries.
Writing in an update on a GoFundMe account she had set up to help raise money for her medical expenses, Katelynn Beatty said on Monday that Olivia had fought "up to the last minute".
But she added that the nine-year-old's body had "been through too much" and she succumbed to her injuries.

Suicide pod activist dies by assisted suicide after arrest for woman's death
In a statement following the announcement of his death, suicide pod creator Philip Nitschke claimed Florian Willet had been "broken" by allegations made against him A suicide pod activist credited as playing a key role in bringing the controversial death capsules to Switzerland has died by assisted suicide. Florian Willet, president of euthanasia organisation The Last Resort, was the only person present when a 64-year-old American woman used the Dutch-designed pod last year on September 23. The pod, known as a Sarco, was designed by Philip Nitschke, who followed the process at the time via video call. Following the incident, Willet was arrested and released after 10 weeks in detention. Willet's death in Germany was announced by Exit International, who said he died last month on May 5. Australian-born Nitschke claimed Willet had been affected by the allegations of manslaughter made against him and had recently been recovering from injuries sustained in a fall from his Zurich apartment. He said: 'Florian's spirit was broken. He knew that he did nothing illegal or wrong, but his belief in the rule of law in Switzerland was in tatters.' Nitschke added: 'To describe Florian is to talk of a man who was thoughtful, caring, funny and friendly. He was an easy person to be around. But most of all, Florian was kind. Florian was also passionate about a person's right to choose when to die.' He had help in his suicide from a 'specialized organization' in Cologne, Nitschke told the Volkskrant. Despite the incident and the controversy it caused, Nitschke, who rejected the allegations that the woman in the pod had been strangled, has continued to develop his Sarco pod. He has gone so far as to tell Prospect Magazine he is developing one which can fit two people. Alongside developing a new version of the pod, Nitschke told the publication he wants to introduce a new safety system inside the pod. This system would use AI to screen people to check their mental capacity before they activate the device. He explained: 'When I get my artificial intelligence process working to check mental capacity. The software will say, 'Yes, this person has got mental capacity that allows the power to switch on in the Sarco.'' However, following the death of the American woman, Nitschke has reportedly been advised to stay in the Netherlands by his legal team. Former detective in bombshell Madeleine McCann claim about new police search
Our community members are treated to special offers, promotions and adverts from us and our partners. You can check out at any time. More info A former British police detective has made a bombshell assertion regarding the latest search efforts for Madeleine McCann. Madeleine vanished while on a family holiday in Praia da Luz, Portugal, on 3 May 2007. Despite no confirmed sightings or anyone being charged in the 18 years since her disappearance, Madeleine's parents have continued to hold onto hope. New searches by the police are set to commence on Tuesday close to where Madeleine was last seen. The initiative, requested by German authorities, will focus on an area that stretches from Praia da Luz to a property near the resort, previously linked to chief suspect Christian Brueckner. A highly informed source from Portugal verified that this week's operation is intended to begin tomorrow, although they suggested some preliminary actions might occur sooner. The source detailed: "They will be land searches only. The main objective is to look for any signs of Madeleine's body." Ex-British Police Detective Mark Williams-Thomas, with experience in high-profile missing persons cases globally, has shared his perspective on the forthcoming operations to find Madeleine McCann, reports the Mirror. Yesterday, Mark took to social media, stating: "The police in Portugal are going to search for the German police - the areas surrounding where Christian B (CB) rented a small farm building . The search is looking for evidence of Madeleine McCann's body . I thoroughly investigated this whole area for my @paramountplus series and we filmed a lot of the area around . It was 10 months before Madeleine went missing that CB was last seen at that address . I cannot see any evidence being found." Police have begun a three-day search of the areas surrounding Praia da Luz in the Algarve in connection with the disappearance of Madeleine McCann in 2007. Authorities will use radar devices to scan up to 15ft underground as they search for any signs of the toddler's body. A Portuguese police source told The Mirror: "They will be land searches only. The main objective is to look for any signs of Madeleine's body." The search area includes a spot near a cottage once rented by Christian Brueckner, the man suspected of being involved in Madeleine's disappearance. Detectives from Portugal and Germany will take part in the search, focusing on scrubland close to the resort where the three year old vanished while on holiday with her family. At least 30 agents from the German BKA police force have flown to Portugal to assist in the latest phase of the investigation and will be using advanced ground-penetrating radar to scan deep into the earth.

Ex-cop makes explosive claim as fresh Madeleine McCann search begins in Portugal
A new twist has emerged in the Madeleine McCann case as police launch fresh searches in Portugal – and a former British detective has made a startling prediction about what they'll find. A former British police detective has made a dramatic claim as a fresh search for Madeleine McCann gets underway in Portugal – nearly two decades after her disappearance. Madeleine vanished on May 3, 2007, during a family holiday in the Praia da Luz resort on the Algarve. Despite extensive international investigations, no one has ever been charged. Today, a major new search effort is set to begin near the area where the three-year-old was last seen. The operation – led by Portuguese police at the request of German authorities – will focus on land between Praia da Luz and a nearby property once used by key suspect Christian Brueckner. A Portuguese source confirmed preparations had begun ahead of the full-scale search. They said: 'These will be land-based searches only. The main objective is to look for any signs of Madeleine's body.' Former British detective Mark Williams-Thomas, who has investigated some of the world's most high-profile missing persons cases, has weighed in with a sceptical view of the new efforts, reports the Mirror. Writing on social media yesterday, he said: 'The police in Portugal are going to search for the German police – the areas surrounding where Christian B rented a small farm building. The search is looking for evidence of Madeleine McCann's body. "I thoroughly investigated this whole area for my @paramountplus series. It was 10 months before Madeleine went missing that CB was last seen at that address. I cannot see any evidence being found.' The search, expected to last three days unless something significant is uncovered, will involve specialist teams using ground-penetrating radar capable of scanning up to 15 feet underground. German officers from the country's Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA) – around 30 in total – are on the ground, focusing on scrubland near a remote cottage linked to Brueckner. The last large-scale search in the case took place in 2023, when police from the UK, Germany, and Portugal examined a reservoir about 30 miles from Praia da Luz. The renewed efforts come amid continued speculation over Brueckner's role in Madeleine's disappearance, though he has not been charged in connection with the case.
