Western Cape female teacher investigated for sexual harassment
CAPE TOWN - Police have confirmed they're investigating a female teacher at Harvester Primary School in Westridge, Mitchells Plain, for sexual harassment.
The teacher is accused of sending inappropriate texts, as well as explicit images and videos of herself to a Grade 7 pupil.

It's been reported that the teacher and the schoolboy started interacting on social network platform TikTok, before moving communication to WhatsApp.
The Western Cape Education Department said it has also launched its own probe into the allegations, and counselling is being provided to the learner concerned.
"No arrests have been made as yet, and the circumstances surrounding this incident are still under investigation. Anyone who may have information regarding this incident is kindly requested to contact Crime Stop on 08600 10111," said Police spokesperson FC van Wyk.

[Breaking] Retail store targeted by armed men in Galleria
A BUSINESS robbery occurred in Galleria Mall this evening (June 12), where a retail store on the lower floor was stormed by a group of armed men. Also read: Galleria Mall robbery suspect in hospital after shooting Preliminary information from a security company indicated that a group of about 16 men in two bakkies robbed the shop of jewellery, expensive perfumes, and cellphones among other items. The men are said to have also hijacked a Mercedes Benz from the vicinity of the mall as they made their getaway. The police and security companies responded and secured the scene soon after. There have been reports of shots fired, but there is no confirmation of any injuries. It is unknown at this stage whether any arrests were made. R60k reward offer for third suspect in murder of IFP deputy chief whip
Gauteng police are offering a R60,000 reward for anyone who can provide information that can lead to the arrest of the remaining suspect in the murder of IFP MP and deputy chief whip Khethamabala Sithole. They are searching for Zamani Ngila Ximba for the shooting of Sithole and the attempted murder of two other party members at Buyafuthi Hostel in Katlehong in Gauteng on May 31. Four KZN learners arrested, protest turns violent
Four KwaZulu-Natal learners have been arrested following a violent protest outside a school. The incident occurred on Wednesday, 11 June, when high school learners from two separate schools marched to another school and allegedly staged violent protests at the gate. Four of the protesting learners were arrested for public violence, attack on police officers and malicious damage to property. As a result, they are expected to appear in the Ubombo Magistrate's Court, accompanied by their parents or guardians. The learners were aged between 18 and 20 years old. They were later released into the custody of their parents. Meanwhile, provincial police spokesperson Colonel Robert Netshiunda said that police have also noted videos doing the rounds on social media. These videos show police assaulting a protesting learner as they led him to a police van. 'Such conduct is unacceptable, and the authenticity of the video will be investigated, and if police are found to have acted using excessive force, necessary actions will be taken,' said Col Netshiunda. He also added that students, learners and everyone else who wishes to march, or protest are reminded that their actions must not violate the law.
