Morrisons petrol station robbed as man rushed to hospital in late-night incident
The petrol station on Lindsayfield Avenue in East Kilbride has been robbed as police launch a manhunt.
A Scots petrol station has been cordoned off by police following a late-night robbery which left a man in hospital.
Police Scotland have launched a manhunt after the Morrisons supermarket fuel station on Lindsayfield Avenue, East Kilbride, was robbed in the early hours of this morning (Monday June 9).
Emergency personnel received a call about the incident at around 12.15am and crews raced to the scene. Upon attending, a male member of staff was rushed to hospital.
The force have since opened a probe to find those responsible for the raid.
Images from the scene show the petrol station taped off by police with cop cars still in attendance.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: 'An investigation is underway following a robbery at a fuel station on Lindsayfield Avenue, East Kilbride.
" Police received a call around 12.15am on Monday, June 9, 2025.
" Emergency services attended and a male member of staff was taken to hospital.
" Enquiries are ongoing to locate those responsible.'
Last month, in a separate incident, we reported that a crowd of masked youths threw a lit flare into a petrol station shop in a shocking rampage in Wishaw.
Up to 25 yobs descended on the forecourt of the petrol station on Overtown Road in the Lanarkshire town at around 5:50pm on May 13.
CCTV captured the gang, a number of whom wore balaclavas and dark clothing, as they launched the missile.
Staff members and a number of customers were inside the petrol station shop during the attack.
Police were called to the disturbance but the youths had fled the scene.
It is understood the group had earlier been at Newmains United Community FC ground before they made their way to the petrol station.
Cooper Brothers Ltd, who own the premises, took to social media for help identifying the culprits.
A statement read: "A group of over 25 youths entered our petrol station forecourt and lit a flare. It was then thrown into the shop, with staff and customers still in the store, causing smoke and burn damage to the floor and some stock.
"Thankfully, no fuel was ignited.
"The group had been at the Newmains United Community FC ground beforehand, with some claiming to be 'Ultras' from the club. Some individuals were wearing black or red-and-black balaclavas.
"We've handed over full CCTV to Police Scotland, but any additional information could really help.
The petrol station shared CCTV of the moment black smoke filled the petrol station ship after the pyrotechnic was thrown inside.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: 'Around 5.50pm on Tuesday, 13 May, 2025, we received a report of a disturbance involving a group of youths at a premises on Overtown Road, Wishaw.
'Officers attended and the group had dispersed. Enquiries are ongoing.'

Scots OnlyFans teacher who sold x-rated pics struck off by watchdog
Kirsty Buchan who previously taught at Bannerman High School has been struck off the teaching register. A Scots teacher who was sacked for selling X-rated photos on OnlyFans has been struck off. Kirsty Buchan, 34, of Coatbridge, Lanarkshire, left her role at Bannerman High School in Glasgow when her explicit sideline was revealed. Pupils had got wind of the full-frontal content and some parents were furious. The physics teacher claimed she only started to post images to make money amid a pay row. In an interview with the Record in 2022 she later claimed to have made £60,000 in just one month by sharing photos of herself on the adult site. Glasgow City Council launched a probe into Buchan and referred the case to the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS). The mum-of-one's case went before a disciplinary panel where she faced three allegations against her. The education watchdog found that she had failed to conceal her identity and profession, and that her behaviour lacked integrity. It comes just a few days after the 34-year-old spoke to the Record blasting education bosses for their 'Victorian values', while saying she was too busy to attend the hearing - as she was going to be doing a photo-shoot for her OnlyFans site. She said: 'The way I've been treated in the school and the education system has been very one-sided and unfair. 'They have applied Victorian values to behaviour that is socially acceptable in 2025 and written it up as though I am suffering from poor morality." Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! The GTCS said that between 2022 and 2023 Buchan set up an OnlyFans page using the moniker 'Jessica Jackrabbitx' and used the profile to sell explicit photos and videos. It is said her bio on her page read, 'good teacher gone bad really bad', and made reference to posting 'big t**s and sexy tight body' photos 'every couple of days'. They also said she failed to ensure that her profile could not be accessed by any member of the public including those under 18 without them needing to log in or subscribe to OnlyFans. Gary Burton, solicitor and presenting officer for the GTCS said Ms Buchan had "used her profession as a selling tool", appeared to have justified her actions in newspaper interviews and that Bannerman High School was "now synonymous with having an OnlyFans teacher". The GTCS found that all allegations against Ms Buchan had been proven and decided that she should be struck off on Monday afternoon. Mr Burton recommended that it should be two years before she can reapply for teacher registration. Buchan had previously defended her decision to join OnlyFans. She told the Record last week: 'The reality is that I live my life according to proper values. I'm loyal and decent and I treat people properly. And I know I was a very good teacher because I really cared about the kids I taught. 'I'd have loved to have carried on with both but that was taken away from me. "It really just makes me feel sad, to give me a life ban and make out that I'm a bad teacher when opposite is true." She added: "People just need to get over it. What I do is not hurting anyone.'

Scots teacher who made ‘£60k a month' on OnlyFans struck off after pupils found saucy sex pics

Buchan, of Coatbridge, North Lanarkshire, called herself Jessica Jackrabbit on OnlyFans, a site where users pay a monthly subscription to access explicit content. She described herself as a "good teacher gone bad" with a "sexy tight body". Buchan advertised her OnlyFans account through Instagram, which pupils spotted, and previously claimed to have made £60,000 in just one month through the adult site. She was previously warned by her headteacher about her "poor judgment" on social media. And the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GCTS) has taken action by striking her off the teaching register. The regulation body found that Buchan had failed to conceal her identity and profession. It also concluded that her behaviour lacked integrity, as reported by the BBC. Gary Burton, solicitor and presenting officer for the GTCS, said the mum-of-one had "used her profession as a selling tool". He added that Buchan appeared to have backed up her OnlyFans work in media interviews and that Bannerman High was "now synonymous with having an OnlyFans teacher". Hundreds of pupils cheered on a teacher about to undergo lifesaving brain surgery - by rocking out to ACDC'S Thunderstruck She resigned from her position at the school in December 2022 after complaints were made. Buchan declined to appear or give evidence at the GTCS hearing. Bannerman High headteacher, Seonaidh Black, said Buchan was a "bubbly and enthusiastic" person who "wanted to do a good job". But she added that on a "couple of occasions", Buchan was unclear on boundaries with pupils concerning her social media profiles being "open where pupils could access them". Ms Black said that a colleague told her images of Buchan's OnlyFans profile were seen by S5 and S6 pupils. Senior schoolboys asked Ms Black if she had "heard the news?" and that she should "look out for Jessica Jackrabbit". Ms Black added that it was "obvious everyone knew what was going on". She tried to contact Buchan after talks with HR, but couldn't reach her. Buchan's OnlyFans profile was discovered just days before teachers went on strike over pupil behaviour. Ms Black said Buchan's activity online and the walkouts have had a "huge impact" on the school. Following a probe, Glasgow City Council said: "The council has a code of conduct that all employees should adhere to and a teacher who has actively pursued a second income on this type of website brings their school, the council and their profession into disrepute." The GTCS has been contacted for comment.
