$50K reward offered for info on 1997 murder of 12-year-old Petaluma girl
PETALUMA, Calif. - Gov. Gavin Newsom is offering a reward of $50,000 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction for the murder of Georgia Moses, a 12-year-old girl found dead in Petaluma in 1997.
Georgia's body was found badly decomposed on Aug. 22, 1997, near the Highway 101 southbound on-ramp at Petaluma Boulevard South, according to the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office.
The body's identity wasn't confirmed until three days later when an anonymous tip linked her to a missing persons report.
An autopsy later revealed she died of asphyxia by strangulation or smothering between Aug. 13 and 14, 1997.
The backstory
Sheriff officials said Georgia was last seen on Aug. 13 around 10 p.m. near Sebastopol Road and Dutton Avenue with a Black man between 25 and 30 years old.
The man was around 6 foot 2 to four inches tall and was driving a small white four-door car.
No other details were available about the suspect.
Officials said despite their appeals to the public, a reward, and new forensic technologies, Georgia's killer remains unidentified.

About a year after giving birth to Ginny, Georgia leaves Zion and his family and ends up working in a hotel in New Orleans. There, she meets Anthony Green, the owner of the hotel who looks after Ginny when she's working. During her time at the hotel, Georgia starts an illegal poker ring to start earning some more money, however at one point she gets busted and lands in jail, with Ginny being sent to foster care. In order to try and get Ginny back, Georgia agrees to marry Anthony and come off as a woman in a happy healthy relationship with a stable home for her daughter. During their marriage, she tries to knock him out with drugs to stop him irritating her, however she gives him too high a dosage and he overdoses. She calls on the help of the gang she used to run with called the Bloodeyes who help her to cover up the death and make it look like Anthony has gone missing. In season one we also learn about Georgia's first intentional murder. Just before they move to Wellsbury in the pilot episode, it turns out Georgia was married to a wealthy guy named Kenny Drexel. Kenny ran a series of yoga studios that Georgia ended up teaching at whilst married to him. One day she sees Kenny touch Ginny inappropriately and decides she needs to get her children out of the situation. She decides to kill Kenny by poisoning him. She adds wolfsbane to his morning smoothie, which causes him to have a heart attack and crash his car while driving to work. This murder is unlike the others and is the one that sees Georgia land herself in jail. Throughout both seasons of the show, we know Georgia's frenemy Cynthia's husband Tom has suffered a serious illness which has left him in a coma. It takes it's toll on Cynthia throughout the series and at one point she tells Georgia in a drunken state: "I just want it to be over." In own twisted way of being a supportive friend, while picking Austin up from a playdate with Cynthia's son Zach, she goes into Tom's room and smothers his face with a pillow, killing him. What she doesn't realize at the time is Austin is watching his mother kill Tom from inside the cupboard. Will Georgia finally be sent to jail for her crimes? We really kinda hope not, but guess we'll just have to watch season three to find out.

Judge Warns Diddy He Could Be Kicked Out Of Court For His 'Absolutely Unacceptable' Behavior
Sean 'Diddy' Combs' ongoing sex trafficking trial has yielded a plethora of shocking claims, heavy testimonies, and accusations — and those present in the courtroom are generally expected to keep their reactions to a minimum. On Thursday (June 5), the defendant was warned by the judge he may be removed from the courtroom due to facial expressions he repeatedly made to jurors. U.S. District Judge Arun Subramanian said Diddy's behavior was 'absolutely unacceptable,' as it was seen as attempting to interfere with members of the jury during today's testimonies. 'I was very clear there should be no facial expressions to the jury and I could not have been clearer,' Subramanian said, per NBC. 'There was a line of questioning where your client was nodding vigorously and looking at the jury.' 'There should be no efforts to have any interactions with this jury,' he sternly warned. The judge asked defense lawyer Marc Agnifilo if this would happen again, and the attorney replied, 'No, your honor, it's not going to happen again.' Subramanian stated that if the Bad Boy founder continued interfering with the panel, he will 'give an instruction to the jury or it could result in the exclusion of your client from the courtroom.' Today's incident is not the only time a disruption occurred in the room, as earlier this week, someone's behavior did result in them being removed from court proceedings. On Tuesday (June 3), a heckler who identified as a Diddy supporter yelled out profanities because she was 'tired of seeing everyone treating Diddy the way they are.' 'These motherf**kers are laughing at you,' the woman yelled at Combs in the Southern District of New York courtroom, per PEOPLE. The outlet reports she shouted several additional profanities before Judge Arun Subramanian ordered her to be escorted out. She also said: 'You're laughing at a Black man's legacy' and 'pull your gun out ninja, I dare you.' Diddy remained seated in his spot and did not have a noteworthy reaction to what was said. The father of seven is facing one count of racketeering conspiracy; two counts of sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion; and two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. He was arrested in NYC on Sept. 16, 2024, and held at MDC Brooklyn without bail. His trial is expected to last all of June and into July. Bay Area woman caught using n-word in viral TikTok: ‘I'm not racist'
(KRON) — Last month, a woman was caught on camera yelling a racial slur toward two Black men in the Sonoma County city of Healdsburg. The video has been viewed by millions of people in a now-viral TikTok video. The woman at the center of the video reached out to KRON4 and spoke out for the first time since it went viral. In the video, the woman was yelling at two Black men who were moving furniture in her North Bay neighborhood. The white woman with blonde hair in the video is Caleigh Buchignani. She has now left the state and dyed her hair purple to avoid being recognized. KRON4 spoke with Buchignani to see what she had to say about the video, which has now been viewed more than 2 million times since being posted on May 23. 'I'm sorry for what I said. I'm sorry I wanted to hurt you, but it's not because I'm a horrible person, it's because I have been struggling recently,' she said over Zoom with a new hairdo since the viral video. Buchignani said she received death threats and had people harass her about what she said in the video. She added that even her parents are getting phone calls. Who was Harvey Milk? 'Multiple people a day calling me, harassing me, telling me what a horrible person I am. My parents still get phone calls.' The video was recorded by a Black man who was moving furniture in Buchignani's Healdsburg neighborhood. In the video, she yells at one of the movers to move his truck — before walking back to her car and yelling a racial slur. 'I think a simple 'Can you move your truck, please?' would have sufficed,' one of the movers told the woman in the video just before she used the racial slur. KRON4 asked Buchignani if the N-word is something she says often. 'No I do not. I grew up with a lot of Black people, and with the music we listen to, sure, maybe in a different form,' Buchignani said. 'Do I say it that way? No, I don't. It was merely just: he hurt me, and I wanted to hurt him. It had nothing to do with me being racist.' Keonta Gilmer was the mover inside the truck, saying that acts of racism are nothing new to him. In an interview with KRON4 last week, he said he was glad that this moment was caught on camera. 'You do have that somebody gets held accountable for once. Unfortunately for me, it's not the first interaction we've had in which I've been called this slur or dealt with situations like this,' Gilmer said. Buchignani said she messaged the movers apologizing and asking that the video be taken down, but never got an answer. The message was later screenshotted and put online (see below). 'I have lost my family, my friends, my job, my partner, my stepdaughter. Like I have lost my entire life because my apology wasn't good enough,' she said. Buchignani said she has dealt with mental health issues for most of her life — adding she is bipolar, not racist. 'I think it is important that people with mental health (issues) are heard,' Buchignani said. 'We don't talk about this in our society. It's shameful.' When given the opportunity to say something directly to the movers, she apologized for taking a bad day out on them. 'So I apologize for anything that I said that hurt you,' Buchignani said, directing the message to the movers. 'I hope that in the future, if anything like this happens, you'll think twice about ruining somebody's life over a bad day.' KRON4 has reached out to the two men in the TikTok video to get their reaction to Buchignani's comments. We will update the story when we hear back.
