Crystal Palace fans are not going to forget this final week of the season for a while. Last weekend they made history by winning the FA Cup - their first major trophy and they carried the momentum from that into their final two Premier League games - beating Wolves 4-2 and then earning this draw at the home of the champions.It meant that Palace fans, like Liverpool supporters, were at Anfield just to party but they can be once again proud of the performance their players put in.It is encouraging signs for the future but the key question now is how much of this talented squad can Oliver Glasner keep hold of? If the answer to that is the majority then Palace fans can look forward with optimism.

Offers have been made, but United have fallen short of Brentford's demands, a first offer of £45million up front with £10m in add-ons rejected, before a second bid was also turned down. But now Mbeumo has seen Tottenham hijack United's move, with new Spurs boss Thomas Frank pushing for a reunion with a player he knows so well. As exclusively revealed by Mirror Football on Friday night, the North London club have made a big-money move to get Mbeumo. Spurs have launched a £70m bid, worth £65m plus £5m in add-ons. All told, it's £10m more than United's last offer, with more guaranteed. It's understood Mbeumo still prefers to join United. Certainly they have the edge when it comes to wages, as the salary on offer at Old Trafford is between £150,000-£175,000-a-week with bonuses taking Mbeumo's expected package to £200,000-a-week. Spurs would have to break their strict wage structure to match that, with Mbeumo expected to earn around £130,000-£140,000-a-week. Bonuses would still see it fall short of the cash he would pick up at United. But as Spurs were making their move on Friday afternoon - and before it hit the public domain - Mbeumo himself stoked the transfer rumour flame on social media, amid suggestions he's reconsidering his options. Until then, Mbeumo hadn't reacted to Frank's departure as Brentford boss, but the 25-year-old duly used his Instagram account to do just that, sharing Brentford's post confirming Frank's exit - almost 24 hours later - captioning it with two prayer emojis. Let's just say it's open to interpretation what they meant. Thank you? Please take me with you? Ultimately the proof will be in the pudding. Intriguingly, Frank was candid about his desire to continue working with Mbeumo while still Brentford boss, comments that speak volumes about his thoughts of the player. "I'm the head coach. I want my best players to stay forever" he said. "I know that Bryan is very happy being here at Brentford, he's thriving, doing well and playing fantastic. What happens in the future? I don't know. "I've said many times, we are a selling club. But at the same time, we have to reinforce that there are 10 clubs in the world that aren't selling clubs. So, of course, if the right price - and that's going to be expensive - is coming, then I'm sure the club will be open for it. "But I'm very happy he's here, and I'm convinced that Bryan will still be happy playing football here." Now, Frank is preparing to be happy elsewhere. Zheng beats Raducanu at Queen's after change of shoes, Rybakina upset by Maria
LONDON, June 13 (Reuters) - Top seed Zheng Qinwen beat home favourite Emma Raducanu 6-2 6-4 to move into the semi-finals at the Queen's Club Championships on Friday while 37-year-old Tatjana Maria upset 2022 Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina to reach the last four. In an entertaining battle at the Andy Murray Arena, Zheng showed she could be a worthy contender heading into Wimbledon as she marched into her first semi-final on grass when she converted her fourth match point. Zheng has won singles titles on clay and hardcourts but she is still adapting to grass, with the 22-year-old showing a marked improvement in her match with Raducanu after she changed her shoes midway through a game when the Briton was serving. "I want to apologise for my shoes. I didn't want to fall two times, but I just don't know how to run on grass," Zheng said sheepishly. "I still don't know when I have to change the grass shoes. I think right now is the time, so it's the new shoes. I feel much better to run. "It was a really difficult match for me, especially (because) she has got more experience than me on the grasscourt. I'm just really happy to get into the semi-final for the first time on grass." Zheng and Raducanu were neck-and-neck in the opening set until the Chinese world number five finally broke serve to go 4-2 up. The home crowd largely favoured Raducanu but Zheng did not waver and the Paris Olympic champion claimed the opening set despite a fall on set point. Raducanu took a medical timeout for a back issue before the second set and that swung the momentum the Briton's way as she secured a double break to go 3-0 up. But Zheng quickly recovered and levelled the set, before going 5-4 up with an overhead smash that kissed the line, with the crowd gasping as one when they watched a replay of the point. Serving to stay in the match, Raducanu produced a double fault to give Zheng three match points which she saved before the top seed prevailed. Germany's Maria, who came through the qualifiers and also knocked out sixth seed Karolina Muchova in the last-16, stunned Rybakina 6-4 7-6(4) to move into a WTA semi-final for the first time in two years. A mother of two whose eldest daughter is 11 and travels with her on tour, Maria is ranked number 86 in the world. "Oh my God, it means so much to me. It's a perfect example to never give up and to always keep going, doesn't matter what, because I'm still here and I'm living this dream," said Maria, a Wimbledon semi-finalist in 2022. "I have my family with me, an amazing team. So much support and so much love, and we are really enjoying the ride together. "I'm super, super proud to be in the semi-final and I hope in a few years you will see my daughter in the same stage here!" Maria will face second seed Madison Keys, who battled back from a set down to beat Diana Shnaider 2-6 6-3 6-4. "Diana played so well and she's always a tricky opponent," Keys said. "I had to raise my level after the first set, and I'm happy that I managed to figure it out."
