FIFA grants special transfer window to Sundowns & Co.
FIFA has officially granted ALL the 32 Club World Cup participants for 2025 a special transfer window.
This year's Club World Cup is scheduled to be played between 14 June and 13 July in the United States of America (USA).
And this prestigious club tournament falls outside the traditional off-season transfer window.
However, FIFA has taken measures to ensure that clubs bolster their squads before heading to the US.
In a statement released on Wednesday, FIFA said this special transfer window will open on 1 June and slam shut on 10 June.
Now, what this means is that Sundowns, who previously requested for a similar thing from SAFA, can now bolster their squad.
Furthermore, FIFA said participating clubs will also be able to replace and add players in the middle of the tournament between 27 June and 3 July.

'In line with the Regulations for the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 and the relevant amendments to the Regulations on the Status and Transfer of Players, all 20 Member Associations whose clubs will participate in FIFA's groundbreaking competition have confirmed the opening of an exceptional registration window from 1 to 10 June for all their affiliated clubs to allow new players signed to compete in the tournament,' reads part of the statement.
'The deadline for the final player list has been set as 10 June 2025, allowing each participating club to bring any new players signed in this special window to the United States.
'Participating clubs will also be able to replace and add players during a restricted in-competition period from 27 June to 3 July 2025.'

The 35-year-old Zwane was an unused substitute in both legs of the recent CAF showpiece, and the Sundowns coach, Miguel Cardoso, was singled out for stinging criticism on his decision not to field the club's captain. Former Sundowns coach Rulani Mokwena was recently pressed for comment on Sundowns snubbing Zwane for the final. He refused to criticise the decision except to say: "Zwane is special". 'Dortmund plays a very high-tempo, aggressive style typical of German football,' he noted.
